Using CubasisLE3 is great, was easy to find out how to write midi and arrange and just what I was looking for. If this had more functionality on a demo, it would be perfect.

Coming from someone who has used and purchased Cubase for 10 years, the demo limitations in this mobile app are a complete joke. 30 minute demo timer doesn’t even give you enough time to learn how to use the mobile app. It took me 5 minutes to find out how to start writing a MIDI track. You can’t start a new project, all settings revert after 30 minutes, you can’t export MIDI in demo.

The only reason I would ever use my phone to track or write music is when I am on the go so I can get an idea written and translated so I can export or copy into my desktop DAW when I get home. This demo app doesn’t allow me to do that. I’d be willing to spend a few bucks on CubasisLE3 for sure but I am not buying a hardware license to use my phone to track ideas. I don’t know what subset of people record on their phone but this isn’t really what I’d consider a “Lite edition” (Cubasis LE). Maybe if they make a true LE for just tracking ideas and charge $3 I’d buy it.

Just offer it to use like normal demos. Being in bed with product manufacturers makes you look like money grubbers. Remember, it's about the music. Come back from the abyss!

Just let us use it for a while like other apps. I don't want to buy a piece of equipment to try your product. No, your so called demo mode is not letting us try it for a while. Be more generous. It will return to you.

I bought a Yamaha AG06 mixer which was supposed to give me access to more features. It’s worked in the past, but all of the sudden it tells me I can’t export my mixdowns from the cubasis app to my files. Maybe I’m just missing something, but it won’t let me share my track or download it unless I upgrade. This is very ironic to me because we’ve paid the $30 to upgrade previously, and CubasisLE3 wouldn’t restore my purchase. Why can’t I export my mixdowns if I have a mixer which is supposed to give me access, and we’ve paid the $30 upgrade price in the past? If I’m just overlooking something please let me know

I imported a 90 minute recording of a piano performance and tried making some simple edits to the file… Thought it was working well, until the program just crashed… When i load the project up again, all the edits are gone. This has happened several times. I’m thoroughly unimpressed with this software. The only reason I tried it is because it came as a “freebie” with a Korg keyboard I purchased. What a waste of time! There’s no way I would pay for the full version if it’s anything like this.

“Music first?” Sounds good in copy but obviously not the case here.

Hey. If you let us consumers demo your product we might then buy it, if it is worth a stick.. instead you lock it all up and do that force the hand to pay type approach. . Yawn. I’m over this - I meant to click zero stars

1st nothing is unlocked that’s fine but to have a demo that expires where nothing is unlocked is just garbage every feature has to be unlocked if you have a expiration period I was going to buy the full version but after that little stunt no thank you I paid enough for Cubase AI LE Elements 9.5 full version would be nice to have this though but without testing it I can determine if it’s worth it or not I mean does it connect with my pc or not I couldn’t even tell you

I don’t have a midi bluetooth device, how do I unlock the in app upgrade from LE2 to LE3 ?

Update: The automatic reply from the developer shows that they didn’t listen to my question.

Update #2: I try to unlock demo mode by connecting an iRig Bluetooth Midi Blueboard but it seems that this device is not supported even though almost every other iRig device is, very frustrating, I paid $50 for Cubasis and now I have to buy useless hardware to unlock it !

A: I didn’t have to, I just paid the $49 on CubasisLE3 Store and installed it on my iPad.

This isn't a 'Light Edition' in the slightest. Unfortunate, cause that would have been fantastic - a multitrack host with a decent piano roll, with reasonable limitations and less features, allowing one to try things out in a realistic way and upgrade once it becomes a real part of one's workflow for more complex tracks.

This 'Light Edition' not only completely resets after a ridiculously short time of 30 minutes, but also still lacks several crucial features such as AU hosting (why couldn't those simply be active, when CubasisLE3 is already so restricted as to be useless?). It's nothing but a storefront demo for the $25 full version, and not even sufficient for that purpose.

I'll be happy to try this out again if it ever becomes a real light version and lets me stretch the workflow and the AU integration even a little bit, without being rushed and unable to do anything meaningful. I'm not committing $25 to something I don't have any real sense for.

I’m a big Steinberg fan , heavy Cubase user so wanted to expand but feel CubasisLE3 isn’t optimized for iPad. Some great features like freezing , automation, chord pads, and IAP make it an solid tool.
But when I use IAP it often freezes or takes forever to load. Which isn’t an iPad experience, you want something quick and light I don’t expect a full fledged daw but a stable one at least.
Also surprised there isn’t scale assistant as thats a huge Cubase feature. So having to use other apps to do that function also adds to the load. As a premium offering in the iPad ecosystem I expected better performance it’s one of the slowest music apps I’ve used. I do enjoy it at times but it proven to be unreliable and frustrating to.
Hoping for more stable efficient updates.

Great app although wished it had more customizable effect with out having to purchase them. Should get a bit more for the money. Although it’s a pretty good rocksolid app no real issues does the job well on my iPad

I only wish I was able to export/share mp3 format. I’m a voice actor and auditions can only be mp3. Why? Dunno. There are plenty of formats that are suitable, but it’s in their court and mp3 is what they require. Please add mp3 as an option.

This is a very excellent app but somehow I ordered this one instead of the one I intended which was Cubasis 3…Is there a way I can switch because it hasn’t been a month since I ordered and they both the same price, sorry I got confused

It doesn’t make it obvious that you need supported hardware in order to use CubasisLE3. I believe that I just paid 30 dollars for something that is now useless, I am giving you five stars still because I am hoping I’m wrong and I know you make solid products

Currently I’m on iPhone. I plan to upgrade to ipad soon so
Question 1: If I purchase this now I’m my iPhone will I be able to transfer it to my ipad when I upgrade?

Question 2: currently on GB.. some of my plugins have bad latency because (if I gather right) because the sample rate is low. Is this software likely going to overcome that?

Question 3: “Supported Hardware” I don’t see my keyboard on this list. It is a Casio S360 dig piano but with full weighted, and usb with an interface (focus rite). Do I need a dedicated midi controller for this or is the Casio just not on the example list?

When you record the cursor gets hidden after passing the right edge of the project window in other words in record mode auto scroll is missing. There are other limitations for instants there is no 68 time signature there’s no linear and musical mode andThere’s no time to stretch to stretch the recorded events and many other limitations.

Thanks Lars for another amazing version of the iconic DAW! Awesome music writing tool upgrade for my studio, after years of using Cubasis 2. Now it is on my 6s Plus, and I'm super happy!! Just curious: my fully loaded Cubasis LE 3, is it now the same as Cubasis 3? Or I've missed something from the full version? Anyway, I'm plain happy, guys! Keep it up for the better!! Stay healthy as well!

No more glitches.
I had to focus my understanding to avoid track glitches,
4 or 5 tracks can shorten ones hobby time.
Now everything Cubasis has is available. Great!
I have all my workarounds plus a properly functional recording system. 10 to 14 tracks just as good as 40 tracks of that other waifu DAW

I’ve been using app in some version for the past two years. I find overall being able to record in pretty high quality using just an ipad allows me to over look most of the few short comings it has. Historically I haven’t been a cubase user but I’ve found myself pretty happy using it to the point I will probably stick with it

That being said I would love if they added stereo flipping and a graphic eq.

The LE version doesn't really let you try out some basic features such as connecting other apps through Audiobus or loading plugins. I understand those are premium features, but there should at least be a way to try them out.

RE-RE-EVALUATING MY REVIEW:

I have the full version of Cubasis, and it's pretty powerful for a mobile DAW. Steinberg, and particularly Lars, is ultra-responsive and helpful here, in the Steinberg forums, and elsewhere. For that alone I am changing my review to 5 stars.

So I reached out to the Cubasis developers and they found out that the note skipping is caused by issues with the AudioKit FM 2 AUv3 implementation. Thumbs up on the prompt response.

So I’m giving Cubasis the 5 stars it deserves.
