The best app ever

I honestly love HeadHelp. Exverything about it is great. Its such a good to write out everything that you want and people on HeadHelp are so supportive and nice. I also love that it’s anonymous so you don’t have to worry about people you know seeing what you put in there. The categories are great too because if you wanna focus in one thing, it’ll let you put that as a topic. I also live the fact that you can talk to people privately. It’s so jice to just have some place to write down all your thoughts and having people there to support you and give you advice when you need it. Sometimes when I want to vent or have a problem I don’t really talk to my friends about it because I dont wanna bother them and through HeadHelp, its just a lot better to tell strangers how you feel and also see that there are other people going through the same thing that you’re going through. Like I said in the beginning, this is the best app ever.

A truly wonderful anonymous app

If you are looking for an app where you can speak about your life or problems or illnesses without strings/name attached, this is HeadHelp for you. This is a great app for self-care without identity. There is no word limit for your posts, so you can either quietly whisper or loudly vent to the whole world without any concerns or issue. There is no sign up required, and you stay behind a generic name and avatar (Arlo, Moki, Paskel, etc). There are a lot of active members as well, so you’ll always receive feedback & reactions. You can hide posts if you feel uncomfortable or report if it’s bad. There are always people working on HeadHelp. I highly recommend this! Especially when you just want to shout out something to the world without identity/personal consequence :) HeadHelp has topics such as Depression, Anxiety, Whisper, PCOS, ASL, DBT, CBT, and much more to come. Honestly, HeadHelp has everything you need. You can rent and vent about anything. Seriously, the topics are amazing! I 10/10 recommend HeadHelp :)

Generally wholesome

I really like HeadHelp! It’s nice to be completely anonymous sometimes when venting about an issue.
The community is the kindest I think I’ve ever seen. Every reply I’ve seen has been loving and supportive or at least not outright mean. Love it! The avatars that you can choose from to represent you are adorable too. They all have their own names, so you go by whatever their name is. This is another way you are anonymous.
I completely understand about the paywall on some features, but as someone who isn’t willing to pay (yet) it’s a little annoying. If you don’t pay for a subscription, you can’t search posts by topic (all you have is the main feed with all topics together) and you can only make a new post once every 24 hours. It’s still very useable and not a big deal though.
It’s a cute, simple app to find friendly people and help each other!

Most Amazing App Ever

I love HeadHelp!!! I was hesitant to try it because I accidentally stumbled on it without any previous recommendation, but since using HeadHelp it is clear more people need to be sharing how amazing it is. It allows for a space, judgement-free where you can get anything on your mind out. I love that I can help other people and feel the support when I need it too! Most apps make it to where it’s unusable unless you buy the subscription, but the free version still has a lot of mobility. Besides the features premium gives, I’m very tempted to buy the subscription just for the sake of supporting the content creators who make HeadHelp. I genuinely am grateful I found HeadHelp, and highly recommend it to everyone! ❤️

THANK YOU
THANK YOU
THANK YOU X A MILLION FOR HeadHelp!

To start, it being entirely anonymous with limited avatars and no names or info taken is amazing. Makes it so easy. Also being able to pay and unlock multiple topics is so cool, I love it’s not just one giant forum but separated based on topic and area. I love that you can anonymously message certain people if needed. I also love the daily tracker, so useful and simple. I have had HeadHelp one day and have already vented and connected with so many people. People are grateful, honest, supported and so open that it honestly has made me feel better. I battle with many things and this really makes me feel like I’m not alone. I’ve met one person in particular who is going through a hard time and we messaged about generic things just to take their mind off the hard things and they’re beyond grateful.

This site has to be saving lives. I love HeadHelp.
Thank you again.

Also: I feel it is worth the monthly payment. I know some wish for it to be free. But the monthly payment is SO worth it for me. I’ve already gained so much from HeadHelp.

Was great til it wasn’t

I’m here because I’m not allowed to post anymore and I’m not sure why. I guess posting is now a paid feature. The point of HeadHelp was to allow an online space for support for whatever you needed to say. It’s great in concept and the anonymity is quite comfortable. I was using this as a tool to keep my head above water when I needed and to keep a log of my feelings whenever I met with my therapist. Some of the responses are helpful and others are forceful. Some of the posts are strange or very abrasive because you’re allowed to say almost anything, but nevertheless you can scroll and not interact with them. The community is generally nice depending on what you post and it is effective in boosting mood. Unfortunately paying for an app and a mental health professional is out of the question for me. It’s abrupt presentation and forceful manner of blocking posts but not comments is strange. Oh well 🤷🏾‍♀️

Good intentions; bad community

I like the thought behind HeadHelp, they’re taking a step forward in the mental health field and giving people an alternative to let out some thoughts without the pressure. There are a few major drawbacks, there’s a lot of toxic people in these forums and it’s sort of a double edged sword, although you’re granted anonymity, that also mean people can say anything to you as well and sometimes you can leave HeadHelp feeling worst than you came and there’s no quick/active way to stop people like that from commenting. The devs have to take this more seriously and put a stronger algorithm in place to prevent abusive language form being spread on the platform. Not to mention it is a bit buggy, sometimes I go in my DM and can’t get out, or I respond to someone and it’ll get stuck on the message screen.

Amazing

This is very amazing I’m glad I came across HeadHelp 🥺 I’m glad that it’s anonymous. I’m glad I found an app where I can vent to especially because sometimes I just want to vent & idk where because I feel that if I vent on da social media apps that I’m on people will find me annoying or something like that. I am so far loving how supporting the people are in there & I feel like I ain’t alone because I can connect with others who may be feelin the same way I am☺️ This is perfect if you want to vent & express yourself how you feeling❤️ I love how there’s the secret pin in order to sign in love how privacy is important so no one can automatically see your things.

helped me a lot!

HeadHelp is amazing for me because I rly had no one to talk to but recently feel a bit better now being able to vent and having people relate to my problems and having so much support!
But one thing I would change is not having to pay to send more than 6 DMs in 24 hours and not being able to post as much as you’d like without paying because a lot of people don’t have the money and desperately need to respond to a DM so the person who messaged you doesn’t feel ignored and that’s what HeadHelp is for.
Other than that HeadHelp has really been amazing!

So helpful until the paywall came

I was able to post enough and receive comfort/advice when I wanted and it helped so much. I didn’t feel alone anymore. I had a way to vent and find others who could help me! It was great! But then one day I open HeadHelp to post and *bam*”Purchase to unlock all this app features!”
I thought it was a glitch so I came back another day and it was the same. I can’t buy this at the moment. You shouldn’t have to pay to use the MAIN PURPOSE OF HeadHelp . It’s like advertising a game then making you pay to actually unlock the game instead of letting you play the basic game and offering paid add-ons.

For those that want to pay: HeadHelp is great! For those who can’t: Sure you can read through them, but I don’t believe that will give you the direct thing you need. I feel really betrayed. It actually really hurts. I feel like I’ve lost an important friend, which sounds dumb but it’s how I feel.

To the developers; Please, for the love of god, remove this new paywall. People need HeadHelp and some can’t afford to pay for it even if it’s a small price. I NEED HeadHelp for comfort and I’m sure others feel the same as I do.

Extremely helpful and lovely community

I've only had HeadHelp for about a week and I love it a lot so far. HeadHelp is super cute and user friendly. The community is great and since everything is anonymous you really can talk about anything that's been on your mind.

One problem regarding the user interface I would like to address is when you click on a post to post a comment or see comments, I think it would be helpful to to be able to see the original post. That way I won't have to go back to see the post as I'm responding. Another thing is I think it would be super helpful to be able to like, or reply directly to someone's comment.

Definitely suggest! *a few pros and cons*

Pros: It is definitely what it advertises as a safe space to just express whatever you’re feeling without tracking and email or having to sign up. A great feature is this mood tracker and as you gain a streak of tracking your mood from day today you can work towards unlocking a subscription.

Cons: I have been using it for a few days and I found out that if you want to go onto more specific topics (i.e. anxiety, ADHD, or advice, etc) to talk about things you have to unlock them through paying. You also have a limit on number of posts you can make within a certain period of time before you can unlock more.

Rarely leave reviews but this one needed a shoutout

This is actually my first review of all time, and I really love everything HeadHelp is doing and it does it so well, it’s designed well, an amazing community, does exactly as advertised, have a great social media it’s amazing. My only complaint is that the monthly subscription is high and as I’ve noticed it’s a lot of teenagers like myself on HeadHelp so it might be a good idea to have a one time payment option of a cheaper monthly price but even so this deserves a 5/5 I love everything y’all are doing and I hope y’all continue to improve it.

Awesome for those who need it!

Thankfully ive been in a good spot mentally but HeadHelp is amazingly helpful to those who dont feel comfortable taking to anyone publicly and i feel like HeadHelp could blossom into something spectacular!! One issue that i have is that almost every single topic is behind a paywall, which means its mostly deserted and people who need specific help have a weaker chance at getting it. I know the developers need the money but hopefully they could find other ways of doing so. All in all a really good app and if you ever have any problems you can dm them on their instagram and they reply fast!

I wanna give this 5 stars but here’s my issue...

I love the concept of HeadHelp! It gives people the opportunity to feel heard and get the support needed for various life issues. My only lot problem is... the price. Listen i understand folks gotta make money, but considering the matter... of mental health and how it’s costly just to have therapy and insurance doesn’t usually cover those kinds of cost... HeadHelp should not cost this much. As of now due to the pandemic, there are more people needing outlets for mental health now than ever. I would suggest a yearly subscription option and a monthly and get rid of that weekly option. Make those prices reasonable for consumers. Mental health access matters a lot for everyone.

My safe space

HeadHelp is wonderful! I normally don’t like journaling my feelings but HeadHelp is 100% anonymous and is basically like posting a status on Facebook. Once you post something, you immediately get feedback and support from other people on HeadHelp and it truly helps me to know that there are others going through the same thing that I am. I really like how you can pick topics and groups that you want to be apart of, and the best part about it is it’s FREE! No tricks, all anonymous, and my place that I can go to knowingly that I am safe to talk about my feelings.

Loving and Supportive for Everyone

Helponymous is an amazing app!! As someone who has struggled with mental health issues, I can understand the complex emotions that people feel when having mental health issues. As an ambassador, it is such a pleasure for me to help those who are struggling. In fact, helping others benefits me and the person I am helping because we both get to learn from one another about how to face adversity. Overall, I recommend that everyone get HeadHelp because it leads you to a community filled with supporting and loving people that want to help you in any way they can!

Forum for toxic environment

The concept of HeadHelp is great, but it needs improvement. HeadHelp does not live up to “no shame no blame.” Anyone can comment on your post and can say whatever they want. More than a few times people have not been kind in their comments on my and others posts. So you can actually feel more hurt than you arrived after using HeadHelp because people can be insensitive. This can be dangerous because someone could take it upon themselves to hurt themselves after seeing an insensitive comment directed at them, as the people using HeadHelp are vulnerable and often deal with mental health issues. Also, there is no censoring and while there is a way to block people, it’s not accessible.

could (should!) be much better

it really saddens me to see that you have to pay to post more than 3 vents a day or send more than a few messages.
i'm feeling extremely down and have no one to talk to, i had a chance to talk to someone there but after i sent them like 4 messages and before i could even open their message that included their snapchat, the whole think closed and i was offered a subscription. i think it's unfair to profit from people's bad mental state, and most of us don't have enough money to pay for it so the only chance for us is to send just a few dm's to a person, not even start an actual conversation and then rot in pain by ourselves. it's unfair to want to profit off suicidal people, some of us just want someone to talk to, someone to get us out of this, that's why HeadHelp could be saving lives, but instead it's just making everything worse. when you desperately need someone to talk to, you won't be happy to wait a literally whole day for them to reply or for you to be able to reply to them. sad.

Amazing

I love HeadHelp so much. It’s all anonymous, so you don’t have to worry about being judged. Everyone on HeadHelp is so supportive and helpful, and give really good advice. When you feel alone, HeadHelp proves that you are not. Even though you don’t know the people you are talking to there are so many other people who are going through the same exact thing you are. I would recommend HeadHelp to anyone who just needs to either vent or is an overthinker or just needs advice in general about anything.

Phenomenal App

I've been using Helponymous since day 1 and it is a life saver. Myself and other mental illness survivors often feel like we can't talk about anything because of the bad taboo surrounding it. I don't feel alone anymore because I can see that there are people out there who understand what I'm going through and it's comforting to know I'm not the only one. Everything is anonymous and that makes it easier for me to open up. Thank you so much for creating HeadHelp.

Unlimited post

Hey I understand you need to get in app purchases or whatever but I really needed someone to talk to and all I wanted to do was post asking if someone could talk with me so I don’t feel like crap anymore. I may be writing this out of anger but someone may be in deep danger with themselves and needing help but they are at post limit. If you don’t want spam then just add a cool down for like 20 seconds not a whole day. If you want money then just add in a few more perks and make it cost money or something but not a freaking post limit. Sorry I am just very angry right now. Sorry.

Everyone Should Get Helponymous

HeadHelp allows you to share things—anything—anonymously. It’s a fantastic way to get things off of your chest, support others through comments on their posts, and even just realize you aren’t alone in your everyday struggles. I love the medium with which it allows communication that is otherwise extremely difficult. Everyone needs to check it out!

This app is fantastic, but...

I’ve recently redownloaded Helponymous. It’s the same great app, it’s incredibly comforting, and the community is super super super supportive. The only thing I didn’t like to see when I came back was that there was a level system. Personally, it stresses me out even more than I already was, for some reason. I get that the developers want their consumers to use their app and interact with each other for support, but now it just feels like a chore.

But overall, best place to vent anonymously. It feels safe.

DMs

I just downloaded HeadHelp today and love what HeadHelp does for people! I was very upset that the DM rate is only 6 DMs daily for free. Right now, with money being hard to gain with COVID, I don’t believe there should be a subscription in order to DM people. That is why I didn’t give the full 5 stars. I joined HeadHelp to help people, but I do not have to money to pay for a subscription at the moment. I feel with times like these, we should have an unlimited amount for free at least for the time being.

My thoughts

I don’t ever leave reviews on things, but I think I will with HeadHelp. Everything stays anonymous, but you know people are seeing what you’re putting out there. It’s a simple and validating app that allows me to voice what’s on my mind, and to know others see and support me.

For anyone struggling with mental health and needing an outlet, I would recommend this one :)
