This is so dumb

You know what would be great? Instead of writing the artist name and piece next to the artwork we put a QR codes on the walls next to the pieces, you download an app, choose your museum, then search for the artist and exhibition, then guess at which piece you are looking at. Also great would be if everyone is looking at their phones instead of the art. Super idea!

Not great

App works awfully with frequent crashes and some parts of interface not loading correctly. Audio is also trash with built-in player not responding half a time.

Don’t Get It!

This is a bumbling, frustrating App that will kill all of your museum Zen. Use the museum’s audio tour if available but skip this aggravation

Non functional

App is useless because the story panels in the Frick guide don’t swipe. They always spring back to the first one. Can’t listen to any other recordings. And the Frick has no descriptions in the walls. Just stupid numbers. Really lousy experience all around.

Don’t bother downloading it

BloombergConnects is a joke, horrible performance, useless information, and the mapping between the museum numbers and the guide numbers is all messed up. It’s so sad BloombergConnects is used to tour JP Morgan’s library. BloombergConnects should not be promoted at all

Great idea, poor execution

Excellent idea to allow downloadable guide content for visiting museum, and rich with text and videos.
However, you DO have to have internet (wifi or cellular) to find and open the content for the museum you are visiting. Why?
Also, very annoyingly, each time BloombergConnects gets switched out of memory (because you've launched other apps, etc.) you have to get online again to search for your museum and relaunch the content.
Incredible that BloombergConnects doesn't remember what musuem you were at literally 5 minutes previous.

location

Why is location being requested when you don’t provide the closest museums to location?

Can you please provide a searchable-location filter

Bad navigating

Seems like the owner don’t use it, can you have a function to set location by default? Isn’t a user more interested in local attractions? Why I have to see these in London every time?

doesn’t work well offline

BloombergConnects downloads guides very slowly. BloombergConnects can cache only 1 guide, so forget about downloading multiple guides for a city in advance, not that any seemed very useful or informative.

Poorly designed app that is annoying to use in a museum

The use case of his app is very frequently pulling your phone from your pocket/purse and quickly accessing information. QUICKLY is the important word, but it fails at that.

First, every time I open BloombergConnects , it freezes for 5-10 seconds. Why? Who knows. Also the back button fails to work much of the time.

Let's say that I'm in a gallery, and the numbers of each artwork increases sequentially. Not all galleries do this, but probably common enough. So if I'm at artwork #405 and need to get to #406 which is right next to it, there should obviously be a button to do that, right? Nope. I have back out, and input 406. FOR EVERY SINGLE ARTWORK. so frustrating.

should be a website

i don’t get the point of having to download an app to see information about arts and culture. so that they can track you? NYPL kept pushing me to get BloombergConnects to see
the “full exhibition “ of their Treasures. it has two videos of 2 minutes and 4 minutes. that’s all.

Location location location

Really love what BloombergConnects is offering, and will definitely continue to use it but I have two critiques: the first, it’s clunky when you nav back to the list of museums, bc you have to scroll down to find where you left off. Second, I’d use BloombergConnects twice as much, if there was a map feature so I could identify museums near me.

save guides??

how about a way to personalize
BloombergConnects so we can save our favorite guides???
or put a star beside them so we can
return to them easily??

thanks!

Nice idea but lacking finishing touches

Using BloombergConnects for the Storm King Art Center guide, it’s a nice start, but lacks details, such as the tram stops and schedule, and external links don’t open. Pretty limited and its functionality. Can’t navigate you between points.

Good app, could be better

I loved using BloombergConnects to learn more about Central Park. But I could only access the audio clips as I came across signs in the park telling me the location number. I wish BloombergConnects had a map showing all the location numbers.

Very useful, but restarts every time the screen closes

Frustrating that every time the screen is closed, BloombergConnects completely closes too. Getting the detail of a painting then requires multiple steps starting from choosing the museum.

Languages?

Fantastic app full of wonderful information. Are there multiple languages available? The museum says yes, but I can’t figure out how to toggle in app.

Let’s have some fine art

It’s free!!! Can U believe it ! It’s nice , it’s fine art

So happy to discover this app!

I’m super excited to discover BloombergConnects on my visit to Frick Collection and Guggenheim. Even having arts background I’ve been struggling to understand some contemporary art or didn’t do enough research about each artist’s background. BloombergConnects is a guide to all arts & culture organizations in my pocket. I enjoyed every visit to the museums included so much more now - I understand artistic choices now, enjoy behind the scene stories and little details that I would miss otherwise. I rediscovered art all over again and enjoy my time at the museums much more now.

Great in museums or for virtual tours

I absolutely love the Bloomberg art app! It enriches my visits to museums and galleries and allows me to tour exhibits in museums I cannot travel to.

More Museums?

How can additional museums be added? I’m in Casper, WY, and we have several great museums… National Historic Trails, Ft Caspar, Tate, The Nic…

Great Museum Guide for the Guggenheim

I was searching for a free museum guide for the Guggenheim museum and came across Bloomberg Connects. As an added bonus, it includes more guides for many more museums in New York and London. BloombergConnects is very intuitive and easy to navigate and includes interactive maps and guides that are easy to follow. I can’t wait to use it again when museums are open to the public again!

App to Arts and Culture

Love the new map view on the Explore screen. A guide to arts and culture in my city!

Great audio tour

Used BloombergConnects recently at the Museum of Art and Design in New York. Really enjoyed the audio commentary.

Very informative and intuitive

Great experience to enhance the visit or to explore museum not easily accessible.

Great museum app

I’ve been a fan of BloombergConnects for sometime now. I especially like the offline mode it offers. Definitely recommend it

Amazing cultural resource!

I was thrilled to discover this amazing arts and culture guide at museums in NYC. It’s like an encyclopedic virtual culture hub. The audio guides are great in a museum and also at home as a podcast...I learned a lot about MoMA exhibitions while cooking dinner! I can’t wait to check out the other museums around the country. I don’t understand how this is free!

Connecting to Connects

So great to use this whether in a museum, checking out where to go or following up afterwards on something i saw - and best of
all is to be able to connect to so many unknown and interesting places and art and artists all over the world from my home. A real learning experience, and fun!

Great app to use Before, during and after your visit

Great app for planning your visit and as a primer for what’s on. Audio commentary from curators and artists adds to the experience. And fun to explore other museums whenever I’m looking to discover something new/that I’ve never heard of before. Also bonus that it’s philanthropic (and free!). Love that one app can be used at over 100 museums (used this along 5th Ave at Guggenheim, MoMA, Frick, Met and El Museo)

Great resource to use onsite and at home

Loved how easy it was to use to get more information immediately about art in a museum, or even in a botanical garden. Super cool that it’s both text and audio because I cant always focus and read in a museum setting. Also love that I can go home, easily find an image of a piece of art and dive deeper. It’s one of my favorite features because I don’t always catch name of the artist or artwork so i appreciate the option to look up a painting by sight.

Bloomberg connects

Just another reason to love Michael Bloomberg.

I like that it has multiple museums in one

I poke around in BloombergConnects when I want a culture break. Can’t go to the museums in person but I learn a lot in a 5 minute break on BloombergConnects, some from museums I wouldn’t have heard of. Some museums need more content tbqh.

All the museums!

Great app—has a ton of different museums on it with really interesting info on each.
