Volv – News in 9 seconds Reviews

Articles contain links to and are sourced from suspicious websites and clicking on a link in an article will give you a pop-up that says “Your iPhone has been HACKED”. Use at your own risk. I for one, do not trust Volv after getting a message telling me my phone is hacked while using Volv and clicking to read one of the feature stories. Also many stories have links which when clicked give pop-up advertising offers to enter contests “Win A free Rolex” (better known as give us your email and we will give you some malware). Article summaries use poor grammar and am guessing they must be written by an AI. All around interesting concept but shady execution. Nothing but a waste of time.

Update: Developer response is disingenuous and not accurate. Articles, not all, but definitely some of them are linked to scammy/suspicious web sites as I stated in original review. I stand by my original review. And to the developers: I have zero interest in helping you “fix” a problem you deny exits. I have less than zero interest in helping you fix your business model.

I discovered this app at a startup event and have enjoyed using Volv regularly. Watching news on TV or following headlines on social media is so triggering. this app’s writers strive to create readable, unbiased summaries of news stories that you can scroll through quickly. They notifications are also super useful as they summarize the news headlines even more quickly. Enjoy catching up on news again!

I love Volvo’s content and the concept of quick shot articles that I can choose to read more about, but their app needs work. It’s hard for me to believe that a developer that uses AI to help prevent unbiased content, can’t get an app the show properly when rotated. On the IPad Pro, Volv can’t proceed past the initial intro due to the button being off screen. The content seems smushed or unaccessible. Screen rotation issues seemed to be a problem a long time ago relative to tech.

This is my goto app for quick news. I can quickly read the paragraph about the headline, and either decide to continue reading the full article or move on to the next one.
Also there are no ads or monthly costs to Volv .
There should be a donate button though, i would gladly throw a few dollars their way!

Volv makes it convenient to read all articles. It's all in shortform and curated from many publications - all under one roof. Also, the category function is also very helpful as it provides easy navigation. The UI is awesome. To read the original article you just have to click read more and it opens up directly. five star app

It’s fast, convenient, and just great all around.. I got it a while ago when it was a bit unstable but now it is 100% stable. Volv is a bit slow while loading up and I get visual glitches once in a while. But it’s an amazing app I love. Each update just brings more smoothness and stability, it’s great.

I can not submit feet within Volv . When I click “send feedback” nothing happens.

Also- there is a filter option to allow me to select the types of news I want curated to my feed. It doesn’t seem to work.
If I only select “sports”, nothing about my news feed changes. I still get the same stories - from all categories instead of only sports.

I can read trending news immediately and it doesn’t take even a minute. Volv is helpful to get updated on daily news. It's so easy and it's not time consuming at all. This is the best news app I ever installed. If you are someone who has a hard time keeping up with the news, then this is for u!

I was looking for a news app like this. Just downloaded it and looks really nice. Clean fluid and well put together interface. I got rid of all my news apps because of the clutter in Volv and the one sided news or lack of real news. Thanks for making a great simple way of getting real news real simple. Well done.

this app is a fantastic app for all those who either do not have enough time to read through an entire newspaper or for those who don't like to get into the intricacies of each and every news story that they read.

Don’t waste your time on the iPad version. It claims to be iPad friendly, but it’s really not. You still have to read in portrait mode. While it doesn’t display like an iPhone only app (2x mode) the text overlaps when used in landscape mode. If you only use your iPad in portrait than you will be fine, but for those who like to use landscape you are out of luck.

I make app for a living and this one is garbage, I tap one of their click bait headline notifications and it literally takes 30 seconds before I stop seeing a white screen… I have 1gbps WiFi and a brand new iPhone so it’s not me.

Secondly they try to claim to be unbiased but it’s extremely evident what side of the aisle the investors/creators of Volv are on (LEFT)
The majority of their mass push notifications are either equivalent to reading a gossip tabloid or an echo chamber of covid/vaccine propaganda

I’m not sure why everyone is fawning over Volv. In the course of an entire days news cycle, I only see 15 to 20 new news stories. Is that all that happened in the world today? And yes I selected all of the news topics.
As for the nine second articles, isn’t that what headlines are for?
And finally, asking for a Facebook or Google sign in, simply means they’re farming your personal data for cash!

This has to be Volv I’ve been looking for to get my dose of the news in a clean & non-clickbait manner from a long time and here it finally is! this app is going to be a part of my mornings for a long time to come..

Volv is fluidic in swiping or scrolling through the newsfeed. Navigation is easy. Best part is that full stories open in the application itself rather than the browser making it easier to go back and continue with other posts. Phenomenal!

Now it’s not that big of an issue, but DONT CLAIM your unbiased when the articles clearly are. (Something the left does commonly). Nearly every article is about fake meat, COVID mandates, gaslighting COVID origins, big tech looking like super hero’s, CRT, and celebrity worship.

App is wonderfully designed, so I give credit it the developers, but the content is all left wing propaganda masked in a pretty app. Very disappointed and writing this review to warn others.

Volv is by far my favorite news apps! It’s nice to get the idea of an article and reading it or it more if I want to. I just wish there was a way to have a custom feed because there is some news that I don’t really care about. Just add that and Volv will be great!

I initially downloaded Volv just to try it out. But then I found myself using it regularly. It’s actually fantastic if you don’t want to aimlessly spend hours watching or reading news but still want to stay in the loop. They summarize the top articles and it literally takes a few seconds to read through it and understand what’s happening. Great app overall!

honestly I was always interested in news but never got time to make it up to all the news but Volv has made it possible. It provides only and only real news without being biased and most importantly in just 70 words.

I have been looking for a good mixture of news since other apps are too focused on politics or just US news or focus on their own agendas only. Volv has local and international news under one umbrella. If you're a curious but busy person, this is Volv for you.
