It scans you recent photos for location and you can’t just select from you photos yourself. The scanning will take ages if you have lots of pictures in your camera roll. I actually could never get it to entirely load even on fast WiFi and letting it sit for 30+ min. Why can’t it just not scan the photos and allow us to select what we want? Or have that as an option? I already knew what photos I wanted to use for each location I don’t want help selecting them! Plus my location is not on for all of my photos so then it wasn’t detecting the places I’ve actually been. There’s no good way to do that just let us do it our selves! I was disappointed as I liked the general idea but the execution was not good.

It’s a cool idea but I refuse to pay money to use an app where there’s no log in or other option to save all your work. You have to pay to use every separate country map besides the USA. It also only lets you save 1 photo for each state. And it forces you to upload all your photos upon starting. I had a photo of food for a recipe that it insisted on adding and deleting the photo doesn’t actually delete it. Delete and re-download app? Get a new phone? Lose ALL your progress.

The idea of PhotoMap is amazing! Really inter having the pictures organized in visual sections of where you’ve been. The whole issue is that not everyone has Icloud so you have to keep the pictures on your phone in order for them to show. If only they made a way to upload those picture in a lower resolution to PhotoMap would make PhotoMap one of the best ever.

I love the idea of PhotoMap!! UI is nice, but needs to be able to tell it to sync again to photos. I installed on my phone and it read all the photos in just fine there, then went to my iPad and it shows I haven’t been anywhere, yet all the photos are on both devices. Also, would be nice to be able to sync to other photos storage services like Shutterfly - some of my photos have been offloaded from the phone and are stored there. Thoughts? Thanks for the nice app!

I love to travel and be able to keep up with where I have been and where I haven’t!

However when in a country or state it won’t scroll up to list the rest of the places or if I’m trying to select a picture it won’t let me scroll up either. I deleted PhotoMap and the downloaded again but it didn’t help

This is a really cool app! The United States map is incredible… I love being able to track all the states that I have been to over the years. I'd love to see features such as cropping the photo and moving it to fit the state. Without this feature it makes it hard to pick a photo. I hope to see a upgrade to printing or ordering the photo for those with a photo map.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but the online version is a little bit better as i can crop and move and order with company! I also discovered this neat idea through tiktok.

Fun idea and works relatively well. However, it does not sort all photos correctly. If the location is relatively close to a different state (even a few miles within the state), it often sorts them into wrong ones. Manual selection does not work in those cases either! You can select a photo, but it doesn’t show up in the map on my iPad Pro 12.9 M1 ( It works on my M1 MacBook Air though)

At first look, PhotoMap seems attractive. It’s a good organizing tool, but all the pictures are on the shape of the state or the country that you visited. No, this is not good. Maybe interesting for thumbnails, but not good for the pictures under the folder. I want full screen pictures not state shaped. I would be grateful if you could work on an update for this issue.

I also bought “explorer pack” which organizes pictures for all continents. Guys PhotoMap is awesome. If you travel a lot, I recommend you to buy this pack. This is a must have expansion for travelers.

I would definitely give 5+ stars when there is an update for full screen pictures. Thank you Cal.

I have a feature request: since the photos contain dates, you could recreate an approximate itinerary for every trip. To know what is considered a trip, the user would have to set its home country. Then a trip is effectively the places visited while outside of the home country. Moreover, min and max dates while outside the home country would be the trip duration. Given a new view for Trips then the user could quickly find fotos of every trip. It could be ordered chronologically.

Favorite app of all time!! I bought the explorer pack I absolutely love. However, why is there no sections split up for Switzerland? I’ve been to many different parts and it would be cool to see. Nothing big though for issues love PhotoMap !!!

I was looking for an app to mark where I've been and thought, " wouldn't it be cool if there was one where I could use my own pictures?" Not only does PhotoMap do that, it does it so well!

It's easy to use and I like it so much I upgraded.

If you like to track where you go and have a quick reminder of different fun sites you saw around the country this is the picture app for you. I’m cheap and this is well worth the price.

This is an excellent app, which provides a great way to visualize your travels. It's fun to see how many counties within a state we've been to. PhotoMap does a good job of letting you quickly and easily pick a representative photo for each country/state/county region you've been to.

Keeping the iOS eco-system clean, neat and tidy. Came across this creatively simple app after months! Nicely made.

Updated to 3 stars from 5 after the in-app purchase that unlocks other countries. Other countries only show states while missing the cities left alone counties.

Use you imagination to make your own for this or real ones but all look up on google. So you know we’re country’s flag is quickly without going their and taking a picture on their flagpole. Also put their country flag on their capital place. This is new photos. 4 stars

Its works great but, it would be better if we could fit multiple pictures in . Also it would be great if we could rotate the pictures, for example when I added my pictures from Mexico I can only see peoples bodies but not the faces. Could you add the states from Mexico, it only lets you put one picture for the whole country

Photo map is such a fun find! I was just showing my husband how accurate and insightful about our travel history it is. We travel often and sometimes the destinations run together and even get forgotten—- PhotoMap is great of providing an accurate history of all the places I’ve been.

When you try to select a photo after granting access to your photo library, the scrolling does not work properly. When you scroll towards the bottom to see more pictures instead it just resets back to the top. This is happening on an iPhone 12 Pro.

Update: Still broken on iPhone 13 Pro

I love PhotoMap! It is very easy to change the photo selected by the program or to adjust the picture that was selected. I second the idea of using photo dates to re-create a trip itinerary. We do many road trips and it would be awesome to see each journey outlined are highlighted in someway. Thank you. You have done an excellent job with PhotoMap and I’m excited to see your future improvements.

PhotoMap has inspired me to travel more! I love how simple and easy this is. I have a suggestion to allow multiple maps. I would love to create one for me and one for my daughter and maybe one for us as a family. Love this!
