It worked for less than a day next morning kicked me out of my account lost the conversation between me and a friend of mine in turkey i was trying to teach her enlgish she also had the same problem and told me her app isn't working i had to uninstall Slatch and reinstall it then sign UP not sign in SIGN UP as if its a new aacount because it kept saying it wouldn't find any back ups... thanks a lot

The recent update in April 2021 has made Slatch so horribly slow that it won’t open sometimes, freezes and I can’t even type quickly in it because it wont keep up. Please do another update to fix this.

Translation are moderately ok. Couple of huge flaws plague me though. App can’t tell time my replies show above my messages if they are sent timely. I assume my phone and friends phone have different times by a few minutes.

The more annoying is Slatch cries wolf a lot. Beeps with no messages this happens almost every conversation a few times till we get aggravated by it and end conversation.

Good potential just needs a fair bit more work.

Slatch is great in theory and works pretty well... when it works.

It crashes all the time mid-sentence even typing and at this point doesn’t seem to want to open at all. Being this broken points to some pretty poor coding as far as resource allocation.

Hope it eventually gets the support it needs to be a functioning, professional app.

CHANGE THE NAME!
Slatch will never get off the ground with this name ! Sounds like snatch and when I tell someone it’s how is it spelled so disappointing to see great innovations with bad branding. Other than that Slatch is solid has so much potential!!

Slatch has a really good concept and works for the most time but it sometimes won’t work. Meaning sometimes Slatch will open for a few seconds and then force itself close. Then it will be like that for a few minutes before I can use it normally again. But other than that I like the real time translation and it’s convenience

Non stop crashing since most recent update. It was fine and then “they fixed bugs” but it’s insanely frustrating to use now.

This is a great app for instant translating messages. Only downside is that it’s very slow when translating. If you’re trying to type while a message is coming in the keyboard will glitch. I cannot see message previews on my home screen even though I have all the settings turned on on my phone to allow this.

Slatch works great at translating messages. However it seems like the messages are going through a cloud server and do. Ot always loud for an extended amount of time. It is more apparent when you leave Slatch and try to go back to it.

The phone/device handles the contact list... so it’s Great for one on one, or groups of contacts on your phone.
But not much use for gamers wanting game specific group room chats where Slatch handles the contact list.

Slatch has been wonderful for me to talk to a group of my friends from all over the world together. However, we hope Slatch grows and evolves with functionality seen in other messenger apps such as tagging a person or everyone in a group chat, muting a chat window, snoozing notification features, better add contacts or direct add contacts to address book, hidden phone number for groups,

Hi! Slatch is revolutionary for my girl and I. We don’t speak perfectly each other’s language and when we text it’s usually slowed by google translate and Slatch made it so free and quick for us to write to each other.

It’s just that we can’t send emojis? And it would be nice to be able to leave emoji reactions to texts also..

I like the multi language support! And easier to use than Skype.

Seems like battery drain is high on this. Maybe disable vibration when inside Slatch and in a chat.

Please add a dark theme and/or add complete color customization.

Good idea with translation but there should be a user ID area and ability to invite people with a user ID instead of just a phone number. Phone number should be private. Then gamers can use Slatch.

We needed an easy and effective way to communicate with our Italian cousins. So happy to have discovered this app! Those of us in America who prefer to chat in English can do so and our Italian cousins see our chat in Italian. When they reply in Italian, we see it translated into English. The language barrier is removed and it’s like we are all speaking the same language. Now I’m starting to think how to use this app for my business to make it easier to communicate internationally. this app is showing us what the future of international communication will be. Seamless two way translation!

This text app is amazing, I speak English and everything I text once I hit send automatically translated to my friend in Spanish . Whoever made this is a genius , only issue I have is I haven’t figured out how to use gifs

Slatch works great and really does the job, I wish they could integrate with WhatsApp to be a little bit lighter and faster, but working on cruise ships I know people from so many places and I’ll tell all of them about it!!! It’s a really good app and hope they continue to improve the minimal bugs they have.

I cannot get it. There is no way to start a conversation. The “magic button” is not there. Wrote to the developer and no response. If you down load this do not expect it to work out any sopport.

I like Slatch , great for gaming and such but it needs a place where you can change of people see your number or not and also a place to add notes and things of that nature and also have a friends list, not just contacts from your phone. Other than those things I like it. I really love the translator part it’s awesome, especially the set up of it.

7/9/2020 edit: I finally realized why I couldn’t activate Slatch . After choosing the profile pic you are supposed to enter a user name below it. The low contrast prompt made it virtually invisible to my poor eyes despite using an iphone XS with OLED screen. After poking the screen a while I finally found the text box and activated Slatch .

The verdict: This messaging/ translation app is AMAZING! It support text entry as well as voice dictation. The translation and message sending occurs with a few seconds and is very accurate from what I could tell. Slatch is important for Americans because Chinese apps like WeChat may be banned in the future so this is an excellent substitute, maybe even better!

Only glitch is in the two person dialog conversation mode. I could get it to work with French but not Chinese (Mandarin). EDIT EDIT Oops just tried Chinese again and it works! Translation takes a second or two but looks good. I haven’t tried a full conversation but look forward to it.

Suggestion: Create User Guide and tutorials explaining the interface. A lot of trial and error revealed what you could do but the intro screen description of elements isn’t useful as a reference.

Suggestion 2: Create a downloadable dictionary to minimize translation time and speed up conversations.

Bottom Line: This is the translation / messaging app Google and Apple should have made. Congrats to the developers for a brilliantly executed app!
