Great online service

Needed a refill for my medication. Unable to order thru MyHealthyVet because I didn’t have refills available. Downloaded VAHealthChat , logged in without a problem. Went the nurse route, waited 6 minutes for my turn and he took care of it in no time. Saved me a trip to my local outpatient clinic. Fantastic service. I really didn’t want to drive to the clinic in the middle of this health crisis.

VA wasting time and money

These applications aren’t worth the time and effort being put into building them. I haven’t been able to login at all, despite all of the troubleshooting with them. The hyperlinks to other sites for FAQs don’t work, and apparently when you do happen to login, it launches everything in a browser. So what is the reasoning to pay a developer to build a mobile application that brings you right back to communicating in the browser? When is the VA and Congress going to actually CARE and fix these issues? I guess I’ll just continue to wait the standard timing for an actual appointment.

It works

The other reviews concerned me, but I installed on iOS and signed in without a problem. I saw where I could chat with a scheduler or a nurse, and while I didn’t try either I saw no reason to think it wouldn’t work.

I appreciate the work the VA is putting in to offer multiple lines of communication between vets and their medical professionals.

Worked perfect. Downloaded. Logged in. Messaged provider

I got a refill request to my primary within 3 minutes of downloading VAHealthChat . Already had a login, and it worked just fine. Very simplistic tool that did what I needed. Saved me a phone call.

Signing your life away

Why would I sign up for an app that asks me for my name, date of birth, full social security, phone number, and street address? So that you can track me, steal my identity, or both? Just ridiculous… just to chat? Really? Skip. Don’t waste your time.

Can’t log in with any of the three options. Constant error messages. Guess I will have better luck sitting on hold on the phone forever to get half the help that I need from the VA…

Worked as intended

I’ve had a hard time contacting my local VAMC to reschedule an appointment. Just downloaded VAHealthChat and was able to reschedule in about 5 minutes. My ID.me log in worked but then kicked me out but was able to use my healthevet log in just fine.

Some people are stupid

VAHealthChat isn’t bad at all. Sure it’s not the greatest app to ever be made, but it works. If you’re technologically illiterate, VAHealthChat may not work for you. It gives you multiple options/ways to sign in. If you can’t figure it out through one of those ways, you should have stayed in the military so your hand could be held the entire time with every thing you do.

I’m able to schedule appointments and chat with nurses through VAHealthChat instead of waiting 15+ mins to talk to someone over the phone. App works as intended and does what it says it does.

4 star rating because they could of spent a little more time on the UI/UX to make sure it reads a little better on the Home Screen.

Waste of space

I got an email from the VA this morning to try VAHealthChat. After numerous errors trying to sign in, I finally get to the home screen, and it has me connected to Colorado VA instead of Arizona VA. I wrongfully assumed that if the VA was inviting me to use VAHealthChat that it would be useful. Nope. Another waste of taxpayer dollars and more frustrations for Veterans.

Update (to developers response): If it’s not ready for everyone to use it, don’t notify everyone that they can keep checking to see if it might be useful. That further exacerbates the frustrations Veteran’s deal with daily attempting to get care from the bureaucracy that is supposed to be helping us. Advertise it to the users in the pilot program areas and save the national announcement for when EVERYONE can use it. Get someone ITIL certified to manage this deployment 🤬

This app is fantastic

I will admit that it will be challenging for a lot of people who are not tech savvy, but if you have a my healthy vet account and know how to sign into it, this works like a charm. I was able to talk to pharmacy and get them to process what I needed immediately knowing that it’s going to be done instead of waiting for a reply message on secure messaging. You also need to know what VISN your in …im VISN15 —- on VAHealthChat it shows V15 - in order to connect to the right service people this is information you will need to know. Good luck y’all!

App works well

I decided to check VAHealthChat out after receiving and email about its availability. The timing was perfect as I had just taken the last pill of a script that I have been waiting on. The pharmacy group that I chatted with was able to provide timely input and and estimate of when it would arrive. Easier than a phone call!

Same as always

Once again the VA finds a way to mess things up. Second time trying to use VAHealthChat . Still can’t log in. Consistently getting an error. Yes the user name and password are correct. Yea you agree with that but no I still can’t use it. One more useless tool no one can use. Thanks for nothing.

Horrible

First I took me about an hour to authenticate before it timed out (I tried authenticating it via several logins).
Than when I was able to securely connect (after 3 different “codes”) I was hold on the queue for 20 min before I quit.
Don’t waste your time VAHealthChat…it needs to be developed a little more.

Worthless. Waste of time.

No problem, signing in the application, and finding my clinic, which said that they are open. I sent a message, and one hour later still have not heard anything. Seems like just another waste of taxpayer dollars at veterans expense. Don’t waste your time.

Would rate at 0 stars but not an option

Completely useless. Maybe the VA folks in charge of this will continue to develop it to where it is somewhat useful. Don’t waste your time and just use the normal browser.

I can sign into the other VA apps. I cannot sign into this one. Unusable. Also, I can’t find where to message my providers in original VA health app. Has that functionality been moved to VAHealthChat? Does this mean I can’t message my team anymore?

Much easier to just call

Scheduling and Pharmacy chats didn’t go smoothly. Not sure why the VA offers this if it’s not fully operational yet. Seemed like a good idea, but calling is way easier and less frustrating.

Too many options to sign in

I don’t know why the VA has 4 different ways of signing in…causes technical bugs throughout the sign in process. K.I.S.S.
One username/password with MFA.

Doesn’t Work

Like most things the VA tries to do like this, implementation is horrible. I couldn’t figure it out and I’m an IT guy so good luck to a regular Vet. Sad we spent money on this garbage.

VAHealthChat is trash just like every single app that is turned out through the VA or Government as a whole. You can really tell where all of the money is spent…it sure isn’t on veterans.

missing claimed chat-pharmacy

va says pharmacy is part of chat. but i instead have 2 urgent cares in 2 different areas. i saw it before and now its gone. deleted and reopened app several times. correct version.
