I really enjoy it and the fun dynamic it brings to social media. It’s simple and unique way to connect with friends (especially my long distance pals!). However that being said, there are two major changes that I think could overall improve the experience. Both having to do with the memories feature. First of all, I think memories should be a feature that you can select to be visible on your profile for your friends. Sometimes I want to reminisce on my friends pages, especially if we appeared on each others BeReal. Second, memories should keep comments and RealMojis. Today, I was looking at a comment thread on one of my friends BeReals and thought…I’ll have to screenshot this thread to keep it because the comments don’t save.

That being said, BeRealYourfriends is great and enjoy it immensely! I think with a few more adjustments this could very quickly become my favorite form of social media…who am I kidding! It already is!

Sometime it catches you on the toilet. It adds a bit of humor to your day if it does. Sometimes it’ll catch you doing something super fun and spontaneous like if you go on a road trip and just happen to be at a really cool rest stop (Happened to me). However, there’s a few bugs still. Be sure to keep BeRealYourfriends open while your photo uploads. Otherwise if you leave BeRealYourfriends for however long, it won’t post until you have BeRealYourfriends open again. If you leave BeRealYourfriends too fast and go back on two hours later, it’ll upload then and and say you were two hours late when you weren’t.
They need quicker uploads because no one wants to sit around waiting until other people post. You post and then there’s nothing else to look at because not everyone posted right away. So you naturally close BeRealYourfriends to look at again later to see friends’ posts. Again, it’s buggy, but kind of fun.

I love that BeRealYourfriends tries to accomplish what no other social media app has before and it makes for a very exciting social media experience but I feel it could use some updating. For one I wish that after a Be Real was posted it would save to an archive so you could go back a view it, rather than just deleting after one day. I also wish you could choose the amount of times it goes off in a day because I feel that once a day is too low and would be way more exciting if it went of, say, three times. Otherwise I love BeRealYourfriends and use it with all of my friends! <3

I’ve had this for several days and I’m trying to get more of my friends to join. I think this could be a long lasting thing for close relations but I would doubt it would last long for large groups.

Some suggestions:
* Options controls - there are no options or customizations. It is clear BeRealYourfriends is in early stages but some things to add might be changing the background from black to third or other colors, also a setting to change which corner of your friends post you see their other camera photo when currently it automatically shows in the top left, should also optimize the marketing as BeRealYourfriends doesn’t really compel people to download other than word of mouth from friends.

i love BeRealYourfriends so much!! it’s been an amazing way to stay in touch with friends that have scattered across the country for college and cousins and family members as well. every day i get a glimpse into their lives and it’s so lovely. i highly recommend it and think the memory feature is especially sweet, like a little scrapbook of your daily life to look back on.

one thing i think could be fun is to add a music feature! don’t change the once a day aspect or the post format, but being able to add a daily song to your post (whether it be what you’re actively listening to or something you choose) would be a fun way to add another aspect of sharing with friends. i would say this could be a good optional feature, not something that plays in BeRealYourfriends but something that could link to an external music app if you want to hear one of your friends’ songs. BeRealYourfriends is definitely already perfect though.

I love BeRealYourfriends so much because it’s such a fun way to interact with friends, but it’s also incredibly glitchy which kind of puts a damper on the whole point of BeRealYourfriends .
When I get the notification that it’s time to post, if I go to BeRealYourfriends it glitches out and won’t let me post. I’ll either see a dark screen with a banner that says “so and so is capturing a be real” or BeRealYourfriends will take forever to load which will cause me to post late. Obviously this doesn’t really matter but half of the point of BeRealYourfriends is that you only have a designated 2 minutes everyday to post an ON TIME be real, when BeRealYourfriends constantly glitches out and doesn’t let you post on time that kind of takes away from the experience.

I’ve had BeRealYourfriends for 2 weeks now and I’ve been really enjoying it! I love the concept, it’s a fun way to interact with friends online without the addictive aspect of other social media platforms. My biggest suggestion would be to update the notification system. I get a lot of notifications but when I open BeRealYourfriends I’m not sure what they’re from. I think it’d be nice to have some kind of notification window that tells you what you’ve missed. I think it’d also be cool to have a local discover page. Something that would show you public posts from your area specifically. But over all BeRealYourfriends is really fun, I’m glad I downloaded it!

The speed of upload, and occasionally even the speed of taking the photo (for some reason i dont see why this would take several seconds as if it's a camera from the 19th century requiring exposure calculations) is a turn off for using BeRealYourfriends , it's supposed to reflect this point-of-time system but sadly it's lagging quite behind time. i understand that it's a system running without ads (big plus for that) and that the photos taken are not as compressed as snapchats for comparison which compromises upload speeds, but i think there should be a way to still improve working speed of BeRealYourfriends , no?

This is a fantastic approach to a new social media app. Works amazing with a great concept behind it. I truly believe BeRealYourfriends will be the future of social media as it is a sustainable and realistic social media that provides something no other apps do. Being a college athlete I was able to work with BeRealYourfriends through their athlete program. Getting to know a little more about BeRealYourfriends and the people running it I can say whole heartedly that the people behind BeRealYourfriends are incredible people who are extremely driven towards making social media real again. 10/10 app.

I got BeRealYourfriends after a friend showed it to me and it’s honestly such a wholesome concept. it’s such a real glimpse into your friends lives and it’s great if you have long distance friends like I do :) it’s honestly become a fun part of my daily routine to post one of these, and it really romanticizes your daily life. you usually don’t see people post the smaller less exciting moments of their day but it makes those moments feel so much more special

I really like the application and the idea behind it. I probably would’ve given it a five star review if there was a way to choose how many times a day you can take a picture.

I feel like once a day is not enough for many people. Maybe if there was a way to choose between one, two or three times a day. It would still lend to the spontaneity and reality grab of what they’re trying to create with BeRealYourfriends , but allow a broader picture of an individuals day and allow them to share a little bit more. Just my two cents.

I really enjoy BeRealYourfriends and the experience. It’s incredibly fun having to rush to take a picture and seeing what all my friends are doing.

My main grievance with BeRealYourfriends is the inability to save the photos taken not in BeRealYourfriends ’s format; sometimes I get a really good photo from one of my cameras and want to just save that one.

My second critique of BeRealYourfriends is its allowance of late posts. I find them to be completely contradictory to the main premise. Late posts change the concept from “you can only post once per day at a specific random time” to “you can only post once everyday after a random time”

I was given an opportunity to be a part of the BeReal athletic-sponsorship program, and I had a great experience! I was able to learn more about BeRealYourfriends and utilize it in my day-to-day life. It is an empowering concept that I was privileged to be a part of, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere that it provided. Everyone I worked with was easy-going and made the experience very enjoyable. I highly recommend taking part in this program if you are given the opportunity!

I love BeRealYourfriends but I really do think the concept needs to be changed. For one, I don’t think you should be allowed to post a BeReal late. Maybe extend the time to 5 minutes but the point of BeReal is to see what your friends are doing at the exact same time of the day as you, and being able to post whenever you want really defeats the purpose and makes BeRealYourfriends pretty boring.
Also, maybe you can get to see other peoples BeReals without having to post your own with the above restriction.

i downloaded this because my friends asked me to, and it really is different from other social medias. instead of only the highlights BeReal let’s you see what goes on in others lives from the mundane to the outright boring. I love the casual nature of posting, there’s no pressure to pose right. Also, it’s almost like a photo journal so you can look back and see what you did when you didn’t think to take a picture. Great stuff

I am a big fan of Be Real. I’ve sent bug information, downloaded the beta/test version, and I am considering joining the feedback group.

Then today I saw a notification symbol on my Be Real post I had never seen, so I clicked on it….

“Share your BeReal to discover who from your Friends took a screenshot of it.”
(With a name/profile blurred out)

Are you kidding me? Really? If you have the ability to know that someone has an image that I uploaded in there phone then I should be handed that information on a silver platter.
(Regardless of who, friends list or not!)

How dare you use someones privacy against them for your app to “grow”.

8/12 of my Friends on BeReal only have it because I told them about it. I’m sure I could just as easily get them to remove it and the people who told myself about it by showing them all the “”feature””.

If you want a good idea to work, don’t advertise it like it’s something that you understand. BeReal is a relatively new idea for social media, don’t screw it up over something like this.

I love this platform it’s so fun and different than other social medias , however one thing id like to change is the memories feature, I would love to be able to scroll through old posts of my friends and such days after . I would love to be able to have it as like a long feed from the beginning ! So with that being said it would be awesome to be able to change the memories from only visible to you to friends only or even public if you wanted . !

i’ve only had BeRealYourfriends for 3 days, but it’s so fun! BeRealYourfriends feels like a daily energizer at a random point in the day where you just interact w your friends for like 15 min and get a nice energy/mood boost! and since it’s just in-the-moment pics between only friends (and no influencers), you won’t get sucked into BeRealYourfriends like you would with IG, TikTok, Twitter, etc, which is SO optimal!
these developers really ATE when they designed and programmed BeRealYourfriends! ❤️❤️

BeRealYourfriends is so much fun, me and a lot of my friends use it and we always get so excited for the notifications to pop up. One thing I would like to change is when you click on your profile, you should be able to see your past BeReal photos. It would be so fun to be able to look back and see yours and others photos instead of them all disappearing after a while.

Overall, I love the unique features of BeRealYourfriends and how you can react to posts with photos. I personally like the Memories feature a lot, and I have some suggestions on how to improve it. I think it would be a great idea to be able to store the caption and comments in the Memories archive because I think they are a part of the memories you make in the photo. Otherwise, I think this is a wonderful app. Keep up the great work!

Excited to see where this project goes and update this review! The feed itself is sooo boring and that’s half the fun 😆

At the moment there are a dozen technical issues that make using BeRealYourfriends more of a chore than fun though. The main ones that come to mind:

- Opening BeRealYourfriends from notifications often leaves it in a glitched state
- if someone reacts to your post while BeRealYourfriends is open you can’t see it in your notifications or on the post until you restart BeRealYourfriends
- the friends feed often doesn’t update until BeRealYourfriends is reopened, etc
- only time zones are US and EU? What about Asia? Feed can be confusing when people are posting in the different time zones. App could really use a thoughtful design :)

It brings a fresh new look to all things in social media. It’s main goal is to bring back authenticity and all the good things involved with social media and it sure does that very thing. It’s safe to say that once a day I actually am glad to check my phone!!

This is a one of a kind app that has a lot of potential. Definitely see the potential for it to become widespread, needs some aesthetic changes and differentiation from snapchat’s private story feature. Otherwise it’s easy to use and can help friends stay in touch, especially long distance!

I’ve been a part of the Be Real athlete program for about two weeks now. The Be Real team, especially Juan, have been extremely nice and informative to me, making the program very easy. I’d recommend partnering with Be Real to any athlete because of the people who work there and because BeRealYourfriends ’s no filter and spontaneous concept is awesome.

I’m a big fan of BeRealYourfriends itself and the mission behind it. Once you are comfortable with BeRealYourfriends it is easy to navigate and it is a great way to stay connected with your friends no matter where they are in the world. I think BeRealYourfriends does a tremendous job of providing a platform that allows you to connect with your friends in an authentic and genuine manner.

I like the idea of this and want all my friends to join! Like the other reviewer suggested, a private archive of old posts would be really cool. I also think 3 posts a day would be cool as well, as long that the older 1-2 posts from the same day stay up for the rest of the day instead of being replaced before you’ve seen it. Great concept!

Love BeRealYourfriends and it’s authenticity! Be real challenges present day social media users to to show their real selves. No editing snd no filters. In a society like today where pictures are constantly being altered by filters and FaceTune, it is nice to create a platform where people can be their true, real selves. My only wish is that you can post more than the limited amount you are given a day!!

The entire concept for BeRealYourfriends is great. It’s to keep social media simple and real, while most of the world is getting lost in the unrealistic expectations that most social media apps set. As a collegiate athlete that had the opportunity to connect with and work with some of the BeReal employees, I can whole heartedly say I believe in this company and the people behind it. Their goal is to make social media real again with this great app.

I love the idea of BeRealYourfriends that it gets people to be more genuine when posting to social media and trying to cut out all the fake stuff. I do wish that it would give you a little more time to take the second picture and I also wish that you could go back and see all the photos you post. Other than that BeRealYourfriends has very good and has good intentions! Definitely download it!

BeRealYourfriends is such a good concept, and their athlete program made it that much better! They reached out to me and asked if i would like to join their program and i joined in a heartbeat! they were super professional and supportive and were very helpful throughout my participation in their program. i highly recommend it for any athlete that wants to get paid, while using a one of a kind, revolutionary app! thank you BeReal!

This new app is the best new way to communicate with your friends! They are really trying to solve the issues that social media platforms have created by letting me be my authentic self and share an honest picture of my day. As part of their ambassador program, I’ve been finding it so fun and rewarding to share a window into my day with all my friends and see what they’re all up to.
