Can’t score short answers

In the IPad version, I’m not allowed to give a score for the short answers in a quiz.
iPad version I also cannot request resubmission of an assignment.
I would like to see the table like in the desktop version, that shows all the assignments and scores. This way I can see at a quick glance which students don’t have the assignment scores or turned in - very handy when you’ve got 100+ students and multiple assignments.
When grading assignments in the IPad version, I have to always type in the total score, very annoying when you have lots of students. This is different from the desktop version that once you type in the “out of” or maximum score, it’s there for the rest of the assignments. Also helpful if you’re interrupted and have to stop for a long time - I’ve actually forgotten what my total score should have been and typed in the wrong one!

Push Notifications just don’t work

I’ve used Edmodo on many devices for 5 years and the push notifications never seem to work. They did for a little while last year, but no more. My students send me messages that I never see unless I actually open Edmodo .

I (only sometimes) get SMS messages because I entered my phone number into the this app website, but Edmodo ’s push notifications are completely unreliable.

I’ve deleted and reinstalled Edmodo many times on different iPhones and iPads and made sure all notifications settings in the phone and in Edmodo or “on”. It just doesn’t work.

Seems very low quality

It logs me out some times, which is very frustrating when I need to get on and find out that it has logged me out. On my computer it just doesn’t keep me logged in at all so I guess there’s a little improvement somewhere. The overwhelming amount of ads make it seem like Edmodo is just here to make money and not to actually help students, especially the ads that show up in your class feed because at first I though it was something my teacher had posted. Pretty confusing to navigate especially since it doesn’t have a tutorial or at least it didn’t give me a tutorial on either of my devices. Hard to find posts and assignments from awhile ago and you can’t sort by just your teachers posts to find them. The discover tab is useless and just another way to squeeze money out of Edmodo it seems. Some of my teachers have switched to using google sites instead of this site because of how much they don’t like it.

Great tool

this app gas been a great tool for student-teacher-parent communication. Our middle school has used Edmodo for years. Now p, I. This sudden change in all schools to an online learning environment, our students are a,ready familiar with this platform. They are able to find assignments in one easy location and can turn assignments in to the teacher seamlessly. The benefit is also that parents are in the shadow, protecting both the child and teacher. My one suggestion to the developers would be to make the messages searchable by class and/or by student. If I miss an assignment I spend a great deal of time scrolling through the myriad of posts which makes it easy to overlook an important message.

It’s great but...

When I log into this app, It’s easy to use. Everything is given to me nicely, but there is one problem;

There isn’t a settings.
What I mean by settings is that there isn’t a place to change the settings of your account, like what if I don’t like the pure white background and wanted to use a Dark mode, or wanted to change the language, there isn’t a place to do that. I can change my account settings like what type of learner am I or what I want to be when I grow up, but those are just profile customizations. No one is really going to go into there fellow classmates profile and see if there a visual learner like they are, or what there classmate’s dream job is. Please take some time to think about this feature and what will be in it, it’s small but important.

Good

But anytime I want to access one of my classmates profiles it doesn’t load properly but it works on the computer which is very annoying! Please fix this if you did then it would be five stars! Edmodo is useful if you are absent or miss a class you can catch up on new homework and class work if your teacher posts it. I hope this was a helpful review and that you please try to fix that problem. I have never been able to open profiles but I don’t know if it’s just my device or if anyone else is having that same problem. But I’d love it if I could access them.

From a student' s perspective.

Mostly good, and I can contact my teacher if anything is wrong or confusing on the homework, but there are some problems.
Sometimes when I'm trying to do something on Edmodo, it kicks me off randomly for no reason. It also doesn't load the video or attachments, so that I can be frustrating. And whenever I try to look at my classmates picture or stuff on the little 🚹 like sign, it always says error, and then pulls up some teacher's info. He's not even a person at my school!
Please try to fix these problems.

Edmodo saved our school year

I can’t say enough about this app. I’ve used it from my progression from 3 rd grade to 5 th grade to Target teacher to Ac teacher. When Covid hit- my faithful platform, this app, did what newer platforms couldn’t. I posted recorded lessons and students could post responses and turn in assignments. I also linked other resources and shared pics and videos. I felt very connected to my class and parents as they used the messager portion. Thank you this app for a super, user- friendly resource. ☺️

Good App, One Problem

As a student, I think Edmodo is a great and easy to use tool for teachers and students. However, sometimes I have problems where my assignments do not submit, or even sometimes the “submit assignment” button doesn’t work at all. Especially if you’re logged into this app on more than one device. I submit an assignment on this app on my phone, then on my iPad, this app will say it’s late or I still have to submit. I hope this issue gets fixed soon. Other than that, great app :)

Planner

As a student it’s one of the easiest applications/sites there are to communicate with my teachers but pleaaasee bring back the planner future on the website, the calendar is so much more confusing and doesnt tell which assignments are completed and which are not, definitely a wrong choice switching it with the calendar, my suggestion is to being it back and put another option (the calendar) as some people may still want to use it

By

Frustrating

I find Edmodo to be frustrating and nowhere near as good as the web. I generally don’t recommend anyone use it unless they’re just wanting to check a message. you can do from a computer. Most apps are designed to replicate what you can do from a computer, so I often find myself having to explain to students that they need to access this app via the web on an iPad or on a computer if they want to submit an assignment, etc because Edmodo is pretty much only useful to view messages or look at a grade. It doesn’t seem very functional beyond that.

Review From A Student

I personally use this app as an 8th grade student quite often whether at school to get an online assignment, or at home just trying to catch up on homework whie sick, I think it is great. I do however think it has some room to improve. My main concern is that is can be a little confusing at times with some things like a classes this app callender being hard to find. But, overall it is a great so, off of the great idea to put school communication where the students are looking.

Review

I have used this app for close to 8 years now. I love it. I use it for fast easy quizzes and check-ins. I use it for classroom and parent communications. I use it to create small groups so the students can communicate with other (while I moderate everything they post), and I use some assignments over again by either saving them in my library or easily pulling up past assignments and quizzes. I love this app! It has made my life as a teacher easier.

Absolutely appalling and gross

Hey clown, you have done it again constantly lowering the bar for us all and doing it foolishly,I’d say I’m surprised but I know who you are I’ve seen it up close and personal. Girl you make me so disappointed. At least google classroom was easy to navigate and was aesthetically pleasing Edmodo makes me want to gag every time I look at the logo. Edmodo made me- and introvert- want to go back to in person school. It’s so complicated and constantly glitches. When I die I want Edmodo and it’s creators to lower my casket so they can let me down one last time. I’d rather have send a raven to turn in my homework. Trash do not recommend

5 stars

I like Edmodo but there are some things that I find useful and think should be added.

-I find really useful if you could delete a message that you sent to the teacher.

-A calendar. Which you can add things in two ways. The student go to calendar, select a day and then touch and the assignments are show but since it will be a little confusing all the entire post. The teacher can go there and post themselves.

-Another thing I’ll like will be a way to reset the profile picture, I mean you change your picture one time and then you can’t go back to the avatar that was shown when you enter for first time and you haven’t change your picture(i don’t know if I’m explaining good, English isn’t my first language)

.

For the rest I like it all.

Very bad app

I am forced to used Edmodo since it’s required by teachers. I don’t get notifications anymore. All of the email notifications are sent to the spam of my email. I had to sign up for text message notifications myself. On Edmodo , it doesn’t tell me when my teacher posted. It just says “10 seconds ago.” Which isn’t accurate. It also doesn’t tell me what date the work is due. The notifications panel in Edmodo doesn’t show the grades I get. Sometimes when I click one class, it clicks another class. I have an iPhone 8, so I know it’s not my phone lagging or bugging out. All in all, this is a very trash app that needs a lot of fixing.

Commenting problem

I am part of a class that has the class discussion on. My classmates have been able to ask question on the public chat but when I tried to ask a question a message appeared that said, “Error! Forbidden!” Also when I opened up a document my teacher posted it changed the format so it was incomprehensible. When I opened it up on my iPad this issue reoccurred and only when I opened it on my computer did it show in the correct format. Up until the. It was very helpful though.

Easy Communication

This is a fantastic resource for the classroom. Much like blackboard for college students, this app allows easy communication between teachers and students. In the day and age of technology and social media, this a brilliant site/app! It allows my students to know what they made need for future classes, contact me after school regarding assignments, ability to access notes or PowerPoints and so on! It’s fantastic!

Needs lots of work

I think the concept is great, but the learning curve is very steep! Edmodo . Isn’t user-friendly. It’s pointless to have the messenger feature and notifications when you receive them DAYS later, or multiple times over several days. I find the overall program incredibly stressful to navigate, and not straight forward as it should be to perform specific tasks (I.e. posting to ALL students in my classes, posting videos, etc.). It’s either full of bugs and glitches, or just poorly designed. Frustrating to use.

By

It’s good, but

Edmodo itself is very user friendly and useful, my only issue is, if you’re trying to load profiles, it always appears as an error, also some posts I get notifications for, but when I go on Edmodo they’re gone, and they were all questions about something with school, or something helpful for everyone else, so there was no reason for the messages to just be deleted or disappear.

Honest Critique to the Creators

The this app app is a great way to communicate in the classroom and for students to be caught up to new material when they are absent. However, my main issue with Edmodo is:

A planner/calendar. Before the update, students could easily access the "planner" function, which is currently missing from Edmodo , on the assignments tab. It is inefficient and time consuming for students to have to access the actual website (by re-logging in) everytime they wish to access the calendar. Some of my teachers post frequently on the calendar, but because for some reason, they are not listed as an "assignment," and therefore do not show up unless I check the actual website.

Edmodo also takes a long time to load (but it could just be my slow wifi) and crashes frequently.

Good but needs work

I think this app is very good using however I do think it could be improved. You know how on a text messaging app where if someone texts you something, an alarm on your phone goes off immediately? I do think this app could like ring a bell or make an alarm go off on my phone when a post goes up from a teacher to let me know exactly when something is posted. I mention this because one time my choir teacher put up a short-notice post that we were practicing our Christmas carols in the band room and I didn’t know about it and I missed that rehearsal. I think if this app made an alarm go off on my phone I would know about that rehearsal right away. I would also like if you could turn the alarm on and off and you could choose a type of alarm as well.

Calendar doesn’t work well. App chirps

Firstly, Edmodo chirps whenever I use it and it is slowly driving me insane

Even though Edmodo is meant for convenience so you don’t need to go the the real website, Edmodo DOESN’T display the calendar properly! This is one of the best things about Edmodo and it’s supposed to tell you what the teachers put down as assigned or due for the next day. HOWEVER, Edmodo seems to think that whatever is due tomorrow isn’t as important as what was due yesterday or two days from now so it just DOESN’T SHOW WHAT IS LISTED FOR TOMORROW. This means each time I want to check my homework I have to go to the website which defeats the purpose of Edmodo .

This isn’t just me also because everyone in my class that I’ve talked to about this also can’t see what is due the very next day because Edmodo is broken or something.

It would be nice if the actual calendar was in Edmodo like it is in the website because the website actually works, but instead Edmodo just has the garbage planner than doesn’t display any useful information

I suppose tomorrow is obsolete and doesn’t matter. What a helpful app

Amazing but needs work

I love Edmodo but it needs a little work. The work that is needed is that there should be an ability for teachers to make quizzes on there for students. The teacher should be able to go to a part that says “Quizzes” and be able to either make or chose a quiz. Every thing else is Perfect. 👍🏻

I still love EDMODO but why is it easier to create folders than to add files?

I have been using this app sporadically for the past 4 years and it has helped me personalize my course delivery to individual student needs. I just came back and could no longer find how to add non-picture files to a folder. Somethings have changed and I do not like it. That’s why I did not give a five star. I still find this app useful but a little less than before.

Edmodo Advocate but too slow to make necessary updates

You need to do three things
1. Partner with Notability to make sure it easier to share notes and files from their app to Edmodo.
2. Create a way to give students better feedback on the IPad so when they submit a word or pdf assignment the teacher can just write on their document (this is where Showbie has you beat).
3. Update Edmodo so all the functions on the website can be used on Edmodo because not only do I as a teacher have to go back and forth but also the students do too and it wastes so much class time.

You should hire me as a consult because I love Edmodo, have been using it for at least 4 years, and advocate it to other teachers at my school. Ask the IT department, they have definitely heard from me.

Original Edmodo Rocks

Please don’t change! I have used this app exclusively as my LMS for years, teaching other teachers about it regularly for PD credit. I’m currently teaching summer school, and under the new new version grading is so much more difficult, not to mention being less intuitive to use. I get the urge to move away from the Facebook model now that Facebook has gone the way of the dinosaurs, but the new method is confusing. Side note - school bus yellow is too on the nose and even my student have talked about hating the new icon.
