ModernAnimal is too slow I had to turn off my phone several times. I wanted to book a same day visit and the calendar kept showing me the day was available. I think it would be useful for the calendar to show only the available dates with a dark circle or something.

Can’t rate the quality of vet care, but app won’t allow for the submission of a patient profile, appointment, or payment. Been in touch with customer support via email (the only other way to contact them), and have gone in circles where they keep requesting submissions through ModernAnimal . I really want to like what they’re doing within the veterinary industry, but feels like a fatal flaw when the care of your pet is dependent on a single malfunctioning technology. A simple phone number or web-based login or would help to avoid owner frustration while waiting on necessary updates.

The whole experience was below anything we’ve had before.
The only thing they wanted was to make more and more expensive exam$$
Our dog has just recently been to a doctor, we offered the historical of his exams (15 years worth of bi annual exams) - and they only wanted to make more exams or to put “on record” that we rejected it.
Even though he went through a full cancer examination TWO WEEKS AGO - the only thing the doctor said is that he probably has cancer and we need to do all the exams (thousands of dollars) again.
It’s not worth and they are fully booked for weeks in LA. Keep going to your normal doctor

Refused to see our dog when we had checked in virtually while looking for parking and were 11 min late to appointment….
Don’t put animals health first and they are unresponsive around the time of your appointment

They ask you for all your personal information and your animals personal information and then they drive you to a portal to sign up for membership but they don’t tell you anything about the membership or any of the pricing
you say that you have transparent care and transparent pricing but I can’t find any pricing information on your website and it doesn’t say under membership how many times you can go in for an exam you have to dig around quite deeply on the site and it still isn’t clear.

Been wanting to sign up for the membership for a year. After dealing with frustration from the sign up process on ModernAnimal , I finally got in but gave up on signing up. Almost a year later, I tried to sign up again for the members and again dealt with endless issues and finally gave up again. I kept getting codes to sign up that didn’t work and after 7 codes, it eventually did. Now i can’t log in without it asking me to add my pet which Ivellisse done before. So important forced to login with my phone number then immediately takes me to add the pet, which always ends up with the error telling mw that name already exists. It’s a bad error cycle that i can’t escape. It’s so bad they’ve forced everything to happen through ModernAnimal . I wish you could also do it via computer. Super disappointing and frustrating. Can’t deal with this anymore so unless they have a way to do this via desktop, i won’t try to become a member anymore. Horrible service.

This service is $199/year for the membership alone and an additional $80/exam. 11 months after my first exam, I requested for a prescription refill for flea and tick medication through ModernAnimal . I was denied because they want more money for exams for my two dogs. These services are overpriced to begin with. If I am out of flea medication over the summer, it should not be an issue to refill the prescription when my two dogs had an exam within the last year. I will not be renewing my membership and advise anyone reading to stay away!

been a fan of MA since day one. living in LA and after getting our first dog, i wanted the best care for her. my husband and i found MA in weho and loved the idea of app based care management. her appointments were seamless, offices were impeccable, refilling her medication was easy and communication between us and her provider was above amazing.
in this last year, there’s been a dramatic shift in quality of service. especially around her medications. lots of gaps in communication- they rose no awareness about how often she’d be seen for pill reevaluations, checking in about her prescription status to find out it was never sent in the first place, vaccines or other various updates. also, shortages of her medications in shipments…is kinda unacceptable.
everyone who works there is so great at their job. either the agents in chat, the doctors to the nurse team- everyone is doing their best. there just doesn’t seem to be a platform that’s connecting the lines of communication between these teams. information doesn’t seem to transfer over really well.
transparency isn’t really there, which was why i came to MA in the first place. MA has grown so much over the last couple of years since we’ve joined and it’s been really cool to see it happen. however, if this doesn’t improve- this membership is no longer for us. good luck guys!

I love the service that I get from my vet at Modern Animal ... this rating is specifically for ModernAnimal and its usage
There have been a ton of issues with ModernAnimal as I've been using it for the past month. When receiving direct messages, often times I don't receive a push notification, which basically means I have to open ModernAnimal to check for new messages ... i don't have to tell you that this is incredibly frustrating especially since these DMs are usually very important.
I've also been getting misleading red badges on ModernAnimal and on my message inbox ... basically suggesting that I have new messages I haven't read yet. However, opening the inbox shows that there are no new messages. There's no way for me to get rid of this badge.

ModernAnimal is no longer working. It won’t let me log into my existing account through my new phone. Even if I click on the link for existing g members, it wants me to register as if I am a new member. Please fix.

I have 5 alerts or notifications, the UI design makes it unclear which it is, that I can not seem to get rid of. I’ve reported it a few times and have not heard back. I can’t find any unread messages, and it’s unclear if it’s a badge to point out that my dog needs 4 routine vaccines/health check ups within the next two months. I wish there was better app support. There’s great support for actual vet services, but I’m not sure what to do to in order to fix this weird alert number. I wish clicking it would take me to the unresolved issue but it just takes me to messages, which have all been read.

I just update and can no longer get past the phone number verification page as there is no “enter” or “continue” button and you can’t press it on your keyboard because it only lets you see the number pad. The same happens if you try to create a new account. It was a great app when I could log in. I’ve tried deleting and redownloading and restarting my phone, no luck. I have an appointment later today so it would be great to be able to log in. Much love.

Such an amazing service and surprised they aren’t everywhere yet. So convenient and pricing is solid. We use it all the time to ask questions of our vet and it’s a lifesaver.

I just downloaded ModernAnimal about 5 minutes ago and yes I am giving ModernAnimal 5 stars! I have been looking for a place I can ask questions about my dog as a first time pet owner and let me tell you it is amazing! I waited for less than 2 minuets and was immediately transferred to a very nice lady who answered all my questions. I will definitely be keeping ModernAnimal! Thank you Modern Animal!

Modern Animal has a fantastic app and service. Communication with vets and technicians in ModernAnimal is seamless, and they’re so friendly and helpful. They reply extremely quickly. The prices they charge are very fair, especially considering how high level the veterinary care is. My cat is always at ease after going in for a visit. Can’t recommend Modern Animal enough!

Modern Animal is our vet choice in LA. If I ever have a question or photo of something regarding my dogs health at any time of day, a person in the chat is always there to respond and provide solutions. They also have an amazing no contact drop off at their office - you can either wait in the lot or grab a bite to eat around the corner. Although we have to social distance, the vet makes each visit feel personable by video calls during the exam for the diagnosis. They also offer sparkling water and Stumptown Cold Brew while you wait.
I recently traveled with my dog and she had some concerning health issues while out of state - the Modern Animal staff worked diligently to help me find the top vet hospitals in my area and sent out records to each location.

Yesterday my experience was with the amazing team of Becky, Daniela, clinic manager Alex, vet nurse Brooklyn, Hallie, Dr. Dunn, and one other vet nurse who’s name I missed… sorry sir!
I have dogs with issues. All rescues. She was just coming in for a vaccine by they noticed something and wasted no time checking it out. The best care for my fur kids and the best of knowledge they share with me. Love modern animal.
Also thanks to Dr. Storm for her help with My fur kids.

As people have previously mentioned, the red notification badges being messed up on ModernAnimal drive me insane, and are quite a problem when this is an app used for healthcare for our pets and is needed in urgent situations. Modern Animal itself is great and I have nothing but good things to say about them, but the developer for ModernAnimal needs to seriously take a look into this issue because it’s been happening to my app for months and months. I’ve tried logging out, deleting and reinstalling ModernAnimal , restarting my phone inbetween, manually checking every message in my inbox to get rid of the badge, etc. and it’s still there. Please fix this, as other app users have mentioned months and months before!

Changing to modern animal took so much anxiety and fear out of the equation when it comes to our dog’s health. So nice to have someone to text with, how easy it is to get a vet’s opinion without having to go in and wait for hours at a clinic.
I truly wish there was anything resembling Modern Vet for humans. We joke that our dog has better health care than us. But it’s not a joke 🫠
