Great app but needs polishing.

I’ve been using LiftinGymWorkoutTracker for a few weeks now and I’ve liked it so much I’ve bought the unlimited version; however, there are some things that need to be fixed/ added.

1. Quick switching an exercise from both Apple Watch and iPhone doesn’t work sometimes it you do it before you begin your workout (it shows it switched but it reverts back).
2. There needs to be an un-skip function if you accidentally skip a workout in your routine (maybe show a list of skipped exercises from which you can then re-add from).
3. There needs to be a 0 rep option in the post-workout edit function.
4. If you change reps or weight during your workout via quick edit it should show the weight range and rep range of that exercise you did during your workout instead of the routine you created before your workout.
5. In the fitness app, it should show the calories burned instead of the duration of the workout on the main workouts page.
6. I don’t know if this is a bug, but sometimes if I accidentally don’t put the correct number of reps and then add it later on in the post edit function it shows a lower rep range than I did. For example, if I did 5 sets of 5 squat but I accidentally said I did 4, if I go and edit it to 5 will show as 5 reps out of 4 (5/4) in the post edit.

Other than that, I love LiftinGymWorkoutTracker and keep up the great work!

Streamline your tracking system👀

I have never reviewed an app before, but Liftin has truly changed the game for me!
After trying multiple digital weightlifting tracking systems, and even creating a couple of my own, I was never really satisfied with the results—unintuitive, clunky, hard to tailor for unconventional routines, terribly designed, and with an overwhelming amount of features that were not really useful for me, I almost give up and go back to good old pen and paper! To my luck, I discovered LiftinGymWorkoutTracker a couple of months ago and I have to say without a doubt that this is the first only app so far that I can actually recommend for weightlifters that are looking to streamline their tracking with the flexibility of customizing almost every variable of an exercise. If you are looking for a simple but effective solution, look no further because Liftin’ has got you covered! Props to Valter for developing on his own such a valuable product🙌🏼

Near perfect for its intended use

This is an amazing workout partner app and exactly what I have been looking for. Simple to get started, easy to customize, and no extra complexity or community features that get in the way. The options made it easy to input my workout for the equipment I have. The first time using LiftinGymWorkoutTracker with my watch was so intuitive there was pretty much no fooling around, just straight to business! The developer has done a great job and the unlimited price is extremely reasonable. Just awesome work. Thank you. Five, solid, vascular, workout-smashing stars!

Simplicity and quality

Valter you knew what you were doing when making this. This is top of the line stuff👌. The other workout tracker apps are nothing compared to this. I don’t even normally use a workout tracker. I just use my notes but for whatever reason decided to try this and was just gonna check it out cause I liked the design of it (I do a lot of software development) and you have me hooked. I’m not going back to using my own notes. This is just too simple and easy to use. I LOVE it. I will definitely be showing this to all my friends that lift.

Great App

Amazing app, I use it for every workout on my apple watch! Really helped me ground my workouts and keep track of them.

One thing I’d wish it had was a customizable rest timer. Like now it currently has a rest timer when turned on it activates after every set, it would be amazing if I could choose when I’d like the rest timer to activate. For example, if I’m doing 3 sets and I want to activate the timer after 2 sets or set the rest timer between exercises.

Anyways, the whole app is amazing, love what you’re doing keep it up!

Love this app (one year in)

I got LiftinGymWorkoutTracker about a year ago and enjoyed it almost instantly. A year later and I like LiftinGymWorkoutTracker even more. If you like to make your own programs then there’s a small learning curve on how to set up things from scratch, but once you do it makes for a great gym experience. LiftinGymWorkoutTracker helps you focus on just doing your workout by making it only a couple taps to log each set. In addition LiftinGymWorkoutTracker receives consistent useful updates. The plate calculator update is what prompted me to make this review. Incredibly intuitive visuals

Love the watch app, minimalistic UX, support

For years, I’ve been looking for an app like this: one that has good watch support, a minimalistic, interface, and excellent customer support, even better that there’s an option to purchase with a single payment rather than a subscription. Thanks!

Update: even happier now that it has the ability to quickly apply changes to the rest of my sets via the watch interface. For some reason, only a couple of watch workout apps have this essential feature. Now Liftin’ does too!

The best weight training app to date!

LiftinGymWorkoutTracker is amazing, both in form and function. It is everything I wanted from apps like fitbod, for a fraction of the price! I love LiftinGymWorkoutTracker in its current form, but I also can’t wait to see what features get added and how it grows.

Edit: Feature request - I would love to see the capability to increment the number of reps for an exercise after a certain number of exercise completions, in the same way the we can increment the weight automatically! This would be useful for body weight exercises like pull-ups and dips.

Powerful, well-written app

I would recommend LiftinGymWorkoutTracker to anyone who wants to design their own program as it has a load of features that facilitate the process. I especially like the ability to link the same exercise in different workouts, dropsets by percentage, exercise notes, the capability of adding RPE for any set, AMRAP and reps+ targets, and the ability to base targets on training max. There are several nice warm up / ramp up to working weight progressions that can be chosen for each lift as well.

I probably missed some but those are the ones that pop to mind.

A+ workout app that I highly recommend and use daily.

Functional, smart, beautiful (especially in true black dark mode), Watch compatible… it’s all just Win with LiftinGymWorkoutTracker. Only thing I miss is a “quick exercise” option for those times you want to bust something out randomly and it’s not a part of your routine. There’s no super quick way to just log some planks or pull-ups or whatever, if it isn’t a part of your routine. Other than that, though, this is just a brilliant app and I owe my success in the gym to it keeping me on track and progressing.

Hidden Gem

Have used many workout apps over the years with Strong most of those years, but then stopped getting updated and the newer version was not ideal. Then tried Hevy which seemed like a popular successor but lots of little oddities. Then saw someone mention Liftin and my mind was blown. It was like Apple designed it and constantly updated with new iterative real world improving features. Support is mind blowingly amazing where bugs are resolved in real time. How this is not the most popular iOS lifting app is mind boggling and hopefully gets an app of the year design award and then becomes massively popular because it’s an absolute dream.

Stellar Design with Excellent Features

I care a lot about design and platform integration in my app selection. I’m a huge fan of indie apps and LiftinGymWorkoutTracker is a delight.

I have been powerlifting for a couple years now and have tried just about every app available for it. I don’t need someone to make a program for me, I want a well designed app that lets me build my own workouts. Not only does Liftin do that, but it brings in so many quality of life features that make it a joy to use.

As someone who follows principles of linear progression and progressive overload in his training methodology, this is the only app I’ve tried that automatically handles this aspect for me. It also allows custom linking in its automatic progression. My volume squat progresses independently of my intensity squat, even though it’s the same lift but used in different workouts. Then things like curls can progress sequentially together while being part of different workouts. Live Activity keeps me apprised of my rest timer while I’m browsing the web or reading. I can create custom lifts whenever needed and categorize them appropriately. LiftinGymWorkoutTracker remembers recent lifts for quick additions. Routines can have substitutions so you can keep the routine but swap in RDLs on the fly.

The icing on the cake is how responsive the developer. I cannot recommend LiftinGymWorkoutTracker enough.

I don’t typically leave reviews and this may even be my first. LiftinGymWorkoutTracker is simply great. I love how you have to option to completely customize and add your own workouts. It is fantastic, very well developed/thought out. I have downloaded many fitness apps in hopes to track my workouts the way I feel necessary for myself. Until LiftinGymWorkoutTracker, I was not able to find one. There are many added features that can assist you within workouts and still with the option to turn them off if you see fit. Also, the paid version is a very reasonable price and highly appreciated. Overall, very versatile app and useful. Good work Valter. I support your work.

Simple but Powerful

I’ve used a few of the popular strength training apps and this one is better than the rest.

It’s easy to use with a great and beautiful interface plus a rock solid and simple watch app.

My favorite part of Liftin’ is its ability to configure progressive overload to work how you want. You tell LiftinGymWorkoutTracker what equipment you have as far as weights and then you can program exactly how and when LiftinGymWorkoutTracker should automatically increase your weight for the next time you do that exercise. It’s great and it’s exactly how this should work. It takes your actual successful lifts and builds over time without you having to manually do it. Of course, this is optional, but it’s awesome.

Liftin’ is the best choice. That’s it.

I’m down 20lbs this year. & Liftin’ really helped me accomplish that. I set up a custom routine modified from one of the built-in routines & everything just works. There’s so much that it does, my favorites being automatic progression by sets (not weight!), exceptional syncing between my watch and phone, progress photos, plenty of customization options, body measurement tracking, and so much more. I bought lifetime & haven’t looked back. I really can’t say enough good things about Liftin’ except that this is what an app is meant to be, perfectly functional, advanced features, consistently developed, and beautiful. Excellent job to the dev who was also super responsive when I asked a question about LiftinGymWorkoutTracker ’s functionality.

The simplicity is the app’s greatest part

I’ve looked, for what seemed forever, to find an app to help me track my workouts. I’m not someone that spends all their free time in the gym. But, I want the time spent there to be productive. So I needed/wanted a simple, yet effective, app to assist me. LiftinGymWorkoutTracker is all that. The ability to track and manage workouts is so simple and straightforward. There are many different exercise choices and different equipment choices. Even with all these options it is still simply the best app for an uncomplicated and easy way to track my progress that I am beyond pleased and so incredibly thankful that I came across this. Kudos to the creator of LiftinGymWorkoutTracker . I’d like to send my personal thanks to the developer of this. Keep up the great work!!!

Awesome workout app

As a user who transferred over from Strong, it takes a lot of the guesswork out of working out for me. I don’t have to worry as much about calculating my 1RM percentages or having to cross reference lifts to progress in weight. I can train and let LiftinGymWorkoutTracker do its thing. I do wish it had some cardio workouts in it but every issue I’ve had, I’ve found some form of solution or makeshift fix for.

Had to come back and say that I love the updates LiftinGymWorkoutTracker has been getting in regards to little things like the plate calculator, adjusting exercise order and supersets mid workout (a feature I’ve wanted for a while) and the ad-hoc workouts. It might honestly be a reason I stick to iOS when faced with my next phone upgrade. Quality app.

Absolutely Amazing

This is by far the best workout app I have ever used. And the developer was quick to fix my only issue! Love it!

The only thing I would I like to suggest to the developer is to add more fine grained control over rest times.

For example, when I do cable lat raises I do them with one arm at a time. I prefer to do a 30 second rest between each arm so as to ensure I am giving both sides equal effort.

Another example, when doing a superset I would like to be able to set it so that I have a short rest between the two exercises but a longer rest after each set. So 30 seconds between the two and 1 minute after completing the two.

The absolutely most fancy feature, and I’m not sure if it is possible, would be to have it so that I can have my rest time automatically increase if my heart rate is too high. So let’s say that I have an Apple Watch and I set my maximum heart rate to be 140 and my rest time to be 1 minute. After completing a set the rest timer will countdown from 1 minute. Once at 5 seconds remaining, it would look at my heart rate and if it was above 140 it would increase the rest time by 10 seconds. That would be so fancy and amazing. Totally optional though.

I don’t write reviews normally but I had to for this app

Easily would give 6 stars if I could. Perfectly tracks my workouts and is very affordable. Compatibility between the phone app and watch is absolutely phenomenal. Very simple and easy to pick up. If you don’t think LiftinGymWorkoutTracker has it then look again because you can probably add your workout yourself. I’ve been using LiftinGymWorkoutTracker for about 5 years now and it’s hands down the best I’ve ever used. If you’re debating getting it, let this be your sign to get it. Only complaint I have is very small. I wish there was an option to turn off linked workouts overall because I do a variety of workouts on different days and I don’t want to have to remember to take off linked tracking but other than that small thing I love LiftinGymWorkoutTracker!!!

This app saved me!!!

I used to go to the gym all the time and never tracked my progress and always gave up. I didn’t know how to use LiftinGymWorkoutTracker at first (it’s not you it’s me 😩) but once I actually figured out how it worked DUDE!!! Seeing the progress I make in the gym is a big factor of inspiration for me and maybe it can be for you as well! I’m already -36lbs and stronger than I’ve ever been mwah you won’t regret it dear and not just LiftinGymWorkoutTracker but their activity app as well for all my cardio needs. If you need it they have it TRUST ME. Thanks apple ❤️
