Favorite way to listen to my music

I use plum every day. I have done so for the past few months. The developer has been continuing to improve an already useful app. Happy with the purchase and looking forward to where it goes from here.

Can’t purchase. No longer supported?

Trial version was great but none of purchase options work. I don’t twitter or use the iOS email, so there’s no way to contact developer.

Awesome

Hey, I just tried PlumMusicPlayer today because I love to manage my own music on my device, and it's simply awesome. I just have two questions, is there a way to enable the searching by genre (I have tried a lot of third parties apps and they don’t include that search and I don’t know why)? and is there a way to search an artist and play all the songs that have their name on it (I use that function a lot because sometimes the Ft. artist name is on the name of the song and is really handy to me search the name of the artist and just hit play and play all the songs that matches)?
It will be awesome. Oh and I like the way lastfm works, it’s simply perfect.

Great Alternative Music Player

I had been looking for a different music player to handle my purchased iTunes media. This player works very well and has customizable options. The layout and functionality of the music player is top notch. I would highly recommend this music player to people looking for a better experience when it comes to playing their iTunes media on their phone.

Did the unlock price just nearly double?

I was going to pay to unlock this. Thought the price was showing $2.99, but today it opened up to be $4.99. I have already paid for a few players, for $3 I was willing to kick them some money too but $5 is a pretty quick jump if it’s true. Really just want to kill the nag screen, that’s why I could swear it was $3 to unlock just recently. Oh well.

Awesome! but...

please add the ability to import music from third party apps by the share sheet (open-in) feature
Thank you for the hard effort you put in this great app🙏🏼

Love the app for local features but can’t get Spotify to load

Hey there, PlumMusicPlayer is beautiful and I like the features a lot. My only hangup, and it’s a fairly big one, is that I can’t seem to get the Spotify aspect of it to sync through in the slightest. Maybe there’s something I need to fix with my cache or my permissions but any additional help would be much appreciated. I bought the premium option if that somehow factors into this issue. Thank you for your time!

Though it would be great

App crashes just seconds after opening. Haven't been able to use it much

it’s cute, it just doesn’t work.

i keep trying to listen to a specific song and it keeps stopping! i think the hearts next to the titles is a really cute touch, that’s why i like PlumMusicPlayer so much, but please can i listen to my song for more than 10 seconds? 😭

Has a great concept but no iCloud!

I would have loved PlumMusicPlayer but not having access to my full library is frustrating. Please fix that!

great app but could use some minor improvements

ive been searching for apps that utilize streaming services api and provide a overall better experience compared to the stock app. there are a couple of small visual changes id love to see implemented future updates. first one is an option to show more information on the screen and make the font smaller on the whole app. the second is maybe clean up the animation for swiping back from the now playing screen back into the library. last feature, though not a visual change, is to add a EQ built into PlumMusicPlayer if its possible using the spotify api. thanks for PlumMusicPlayer and i hope u take my suggestions into consideration!

Not an Improvement Over Native App

I didn’t find any features in PlumMusicPlayer that aren’t already available and easier to use, in the iOS Apple Music. Managing playlists is just as clunky, useful filtering options don’t seem to be present, and the user interface felt awkward.

In addition, it’s awkward to select an output device, as it requires playing a song, clicking the artwork, and only then can you “route” the output. If I used both Spotify and Apple, I might see a need for an integrated app. For my purposes, only using one of the two, it seems more effort rather than less.

Finally, I had trouble getting the music to play reliably. PlumMusicPlayer seems design to work only with files on the device. I obviously misunderstood “iTunes” to include “Apple Music”.

However, despite that, PlumMusicPlayer recognizes playlists with only iCloud-based songs; it even lists those songs in Smart Playlists. It will even try to play them. Which is why I thought that Plum supported Apple Music.

Unfortunately rather than remind the user of limitations, Plum starts to play the song, stutters, then stops.

If I like the interface better, I might be interested. Under the circumstances, I just deleted PlumMusicPlayer instead.

Update:
The developer responded to my review. I’ve updated accordingly. I stand by my rating. And based on the message I received, well, it doesn’t seem written to ask me to take another look.

That said, apps evolve. Lots of people love PlumMusicPlayer , so I’ll check in again in 10 months.

Give it a try

PlumMusicPlayer is really cool and works seamlessly. Gives a new way to organize all Spotify music similar to how iTunes does.

My favorite music app

I’ve researched a lot of music apps and this one fits my preferences best.

Highlights:
Colorized artist/album/now playing views, the ability to add custom artist art, and the theme colors make music-listening a visually engaging experience.
The favorites tab is extremely useful—you can add specific playlists, artists, albums, and even songs. The heart icon makes it easy to add to that favorites tab.
The queue builder is solid. You also have the option to play now or add next or add to end of queue just by clicking the song.
It has lyrics support which is easy to access from the now playing menu.
The option to auto-fetch artist and album info adds context to my music that I hadn’t known before—didn’t realize so many of my faves were from Scandinavian countries!
It doesn’t have Home Screen widgets but it does have widgets for everything else.
There are sorting options such as release year, alphabetical, etc.
Not really relevant to me because I just use iTunes, but it also has lastfm and Spotify support.

One thing I’d like to see is custom default sorting preferences. For example, whenever I’m in artist view, I’d like the albums to be listed by release year automatically.

Really needs lyrics for all songs

I love the UI except the fact that not that many songs have their lyrics, which is most of the reason I’m looking to use an alternate Spotify music player. Add that feature and I’ll pay any price

Hung on start screen after update.

iPhone 11 13.3

(Non-beta)

Tried to clear cache to no avail

Very good

I’ve got a question though

Is it possible to implement Google Music (not YouTube music) into PlumMusicPlayer? The google music app is just a UI nightmare

Really Cool Alternative

I love that PlumMusicPlayer continues to be developed. It’s nice to have a clean alternative to the Spotify app. It’s great for listening to your existing library and has tools to make changes as well.

The main improvements I’d like to see would to be able to disable that pop up scroller on the right hand when you’re navigating through Playlists, and to be able to sort playlists by the natural order they’re in within the Spotify app, since the current options go by type and alphabetical.

Everything Spotify’s UI Could Be

I love Spotify the service but hate PlumMusicPlayer . Spotify has made library management confusing and impossible. Plum solves this pesky little problem. Plum is limited because of Spotify’s API, but PlumMusicPlayer is still well worth the in-app purchase. Plum not only provides better management and queue options but it also gives you lyrics right in PlumMusicPlayer .

There are a lot of features Plum can’t bring from Spotify but if you are mostly listening to music on your iPhone, it’s a fantastic app.

One suggestion - please add a light and dark mode. It’s nice to have the option, especially when in bright light or dark rooms.

I really like this in comparison to the Spotify app! So much more organized. Are you able to play playlists you have downloaded onto your device from Spotify threw Plum without data connection?

Great Alternative to the Music App

The biggest advantage to PlumMusicPlayer over the music app are the queuing features. It’s just so much easier to manipulate and play music in a certain order with Plum. Worth the few dollars the developer is asking for in my opinion. I hope we can see Apple Music integration one day!

Fantastic Spotify app alternative

I've been looking forever for an alternative to Spotify's own app. Fully understanding PlumMusicPlayer is limited to what Spotify's API'S provide, this is an amazing app. Great UI. Overall much better usability as compared to Spotify's own app.

Best Music Player on the App Store

I’m very impressed with the product. There are a few bugs such as the albums not appearing as full rows but alternating, but what this has over the original apple music player is seamless playback, customization, no advertisements, and a Spotify-like queueing feature. It even scrobbles to last.fm in the same way that the Apple Music player does. I’m not losing anything by switching to PlumMusicPlayer. Keep up the great work, this was well worth the wait.

Edit: Loop is not working.
