My Hotel Key Reviews

Prechecked in on the all no problem.
Got to the hotel (The Venetian)at check in time.
Waited for 30 minutes, constantly refreshing MyHotelKey . Says “we’ll notify you when the room is ready”.
Called the front desk after the half hour. They said that our room is ready. They admitted the all can be spotty and doesn’t work all the time. Not worth it. Just go to the front desk and save your time.

It was cool to have it saw the reviews they had problem tried it same I’d face not match error this is a joke Hotel your better than that

my wife checked us in, so i installed this to have key as well. it just says you need to checkin first with NO options to do anything else??? fix this or remove it, its currently junk

I agree with the other reviews MyHotelKey is terrible. I can’t believe fancy resorts use MyHotelKey for their check-in. Not user friendly at all

I saw the reviews and was thinking “oh whatever I only need to use it for this one trip, it can’t be that bad.” Oh it is. It really is. There is literally no navigation, just a refresh button and a virtually empty and entirely unclickable screen. It has a single message that says you need to check in to your hotel before you can use MyHotelKey . I have checked in…I literally have a room that is ready. There is nowhere to even enter or edit information so it’s not like MyHotelKey has a clue who I am or what hotel my reservation is even at. I honestly just started laughing…how can someone make an app this bad? I think I’ll just go wait in line to get physical keys, delete this garbage app, and move on with my life.

MyHotelKey is very clumsy and provides little guidance to get started but it has saved me hours in the checkin line at the Venetian and Palazzo. Note that the only way to use MyHotelKey is after you checkin at the hotel website (preferably through your mobile device that has MyHotelKey loaded ) and select mobile key which will launch MyHotelKey . Only then will it walk you through the process of taking pictures of ID and a selfie. The ID must reasonable match the information on your reservation. I like to also have a physical card so during off hours after I get to the hotel I go and pick up a physical key too. It isn’t necessary but I like having a couple of options to get through the room security line.

Reservation for tomorrow. The hotel said to download MyHotelKey. I downloaded MyHotelKey . Opened MyHotelKey , it's basically a blank screen with a refresh button on the top right. Nothing else but a big blank screen. So I'm not sure how it knows to send the reservation to my phone. Does it need to be the same number on file with the hotel does it need the same email address? No way to tell. There's no help button, and no support button. End result nothing in MyHotelKey shows upcoming reservation nor anything else.

Entered in my info and including taking pictures of front/back of drivers license and it found my name. When I got to Las Vegas hotel I was able to bypass the extremely long check-in line and go right to room. It does take about 30 seconds to allow door unlock access once app is opened. Not sure if my private information is safe. Hopefully they have secured it with good encryption.

The my hotel key digital app simply doesn’t work. It requires you to do all sorts of turnings and twisting‘s to even try to open the door, for no obvious reason for a Bluetooth app, and then still fails. And, every time you tap unlock door, it takes a very long time to retrieve your reservation first. Every time. Like trying right after it failed. It won’t work at all if it doesn’t think you have data coverage even if you just did two minutes earlier. Just don’t try it.

If zero stars was possible that would be suitable. I was concerned MyHotelKey would not work due to the reviews but wanted to bypass the front desk to save time so I gave it a try. Not only did it not work it cost me 20 minutes of wasted time and still never worked. Had to go back to the front desk, wait in line and get physical door key cards. What a joke, the large hotel chain that we stayed at will hopefully fire this vendor very soon and not further frustrate their guests.

MyHotelKey is slightly awkward and it took me about 6 tries before it would recognize my face as compared to my drivers license. BUT we checked into the Venetian today and the linenwas crazy! With MyHotelKey and early check in, we breezed past and were in our room 2 hours early with no line wait at all. Priceless.

MyHotelKey never worked the whole time that I tried to use it, finally had to go get a real key from front desk and then use that every time. I was checked in, MyHotelKey showed my room number correctly, but after touching UNLOCK DOOR button and placing the phone on top of the door lock, the door never unlocked!! So frustrating!! Why is MyHotelKey still in MyHotelKey Store and why are hotels like Venetian/Palazzo promoting it!!

On my recent visit to Palazzo in Las Vegas, MyHotelKey worked very well. Checked in virtually and used MyHotelKey as my room key. Never had to visit the front desk.

You do have to rotate the phone to portrait position and flip it so screen faces the entry lock to function. Not a big deal.

Unfortunately, MyHotelKey does not open the hotel door. We tried for several frustrating minutes, but to no avail. Waited in line at the front desk for about 30 minutes to get regular room keys instead. MyHotelKey needs to be tested more thoroughly, especially in mainstream hotels. Otherwise, it’s just a failing use of technology, as well as wasting people’s time.

If you send the link to your text message and open it from there, it will open in MyHotelKey and create your key. I’ve used it before, but had to find a loophole to make it work this time. Hope this helps. Definitely some bugs they need to fix

I do not understand why major hotels invest their advertising funds on this program—-DOES NOT SO WHAT IT CLAIMS TO DO. Logged in to check in, download application for digital key —and NOTHING. Venetian front desk or operator were clueless why it didn’t work. Spending my Anniversary waiting for a digital key to work—very frustrating!! Sent my husband to get physical keys, Had to call for security to get keys!! What a mess! Run away from this application!

Hotels! Start reading user reviews and stop reading sales collateral, this application doesn’t work for your guests!

App kept saying I had to check in from my hotel site before I could get my digital key. It was my check in confirmation page that I was linking to MyHotelKey from, with no other recourse on how to fix the issue.

MyHotelKey needs to go back to the drawing board. U can’t use MyHotelKey on 2 mobile devices if u switch devices. It states MyHotelKey is being used on another device. What?? Also MyHotelKey doesn’t work although I had a reservation. It said I had none. Worked on pulling up the reservation for 2 days. Nothing! MyHotelKey is unusable.

Tried to save time and avoid the lines. Ended up waiting twice as long to get someone to open my room as the key didn’t work. All of the staff I met said that they have lots of issues. The room attendant refused to open my door despite being able to show him ID and the electronic key. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME LIKE ME

Takes forever to “fetch keys” and then it doesn’t unlock the door!! Had to go to front desk and get a key. I should have known when I couldn’t scan to get on the elevator.

MyHotelKey doesn’t work for surnames that consist of two words.
