The virtual app on the Happy Stays site was very helpful. Everyone was able to pick out the room they wanted to stay in and see the layout of the house . We brought our family of 13 for a weeks stay. The house was beautiful with plenty of room for our kids and grandkids. Nice deck with beautiful views and sunsets. The pool and game room was a “hit” with our grandkids ages 4-13. We had a few issues during our stay. Could not get the surround sound to work in the media room. We were told someone would come by to fix that, however no one showed up. We sent an email with no response . The kitchen had plenty of plates, glasses, bowls and cups, however not enough cutlery for 13 people and no mixing bowls. We had a problem with the light switch in the pool room and in one of the bathrooms. The pool maintenance was great. They showed up on the scheduled days and the pool and hot tub were very clean. I feel that the house needs a little maintenance, we did see several centipedes in the lower level.

Family of 10 with 4 kids stayed for 5 nights. House was not clean at all. Theater room tv turned on but couldn’t get anything to work luckily we brought our fire stick from home to use, top of stove had a thick film of grease, kitchen utensils were found under the beds, popcorn in the chairs in theater room, dishes had food on them when taken out of cupboards, hot tub SMELLED like a dirty fish tank and was green, septic leaked out and overflowed, toilet paper and water shot out the top when toilets were flushed, sewage smell was so bad in the downstairs the bedroom could not be used, the washer smelled musty and made the clothes smell, the dryer control panel plate had been duck taped but had still fallen forward, sparked when turned on and did not work. Maintenance came out to check the septic and said it was “normal” and “just don’t use the dryer.” Toilet paper and sewage was all around the septic and you can tell this had not been the first issue with the washer/dryer either. We are not ones to ever complain or make a bad review because we understand things happen/ get worn out etc… However we feel these two major issues are a huge sanitation and fire hazard that seem not to make priority.

We enjoyed our stay. I love looking at the waves coming in while I drink my morning coffee in the bedroom. As an AirBnB super host I do have a couple of suggestions: provide a toaster and replace the rusted ceiling registers.
The BIG caveat for anyone staying in 202: ignore the instructions posted in the room to “pull up as far as possible in the parking space.” I did that, going to pull up even with the car next to us, and went off the pavement several inches down into sand. Could not get the car backed out! Talked to a number of people and NO ONE is responsible for the bad instructions! Or for helping me. The local tow truck cost me $125. The right thing to do will be to change those instructions and reimburse me. And consider extending the concrete pavement the length of the parking space.

This is a stunning cabin! I’m already thinking of when to book our next stay here. We were a little sketched out by how far out it seemed, but we also arrived when it was dark outside and that made it seem longer than what it really was- It only took us the next day when we went out and came back that it’s just far enough to be secluded but close enough to a lot of activities. The view was breathtaking, and I don’t think I could stay in another cabin after staying in this one. My only complaint is it rained really hard one day and it leaked in a few places but it was no biggie. It’s also up a hefty hill, so you may get snowed in if it did snow. Overall though, a lovely cabin!!

I seriously love this lake home. Perfect location. You feel very warm and cozy inside, like being at home. Plenty of space and very clean. I only have to problems. One, the pots and pans NEED to be replaced. The coating on just about all of them is peeling off. I didn’t use them assuming pieces would end up in my food. Two, this isn’t dog friendly. We’ve been renting in Deep Creek for years now (twice a year). Always searching for that one place we could rent every time we come down and this would have been the winner if we could bring our dog with us.

Upon arrival Cabin was very very beautiful walking in! Kitchen was neat however there was a bit of room for improvement! We needed better Serving spoons/forks. The pool area was nice, but the jacuzzi would not stay hot! We were there for 4 days, And Maintenence had to come out over 3 times. The ice maker Needed fixing. The handle on the door fell off my daughter ended up getting locked in the room because we couldn’t turn the knob… very aggravating! The bedrooms were ALL VERY DUSTY! The dressers were not Cleaned off and the head boards were DUSTY as well! For the amount of money we paid we were not too satisfied! The linen had a blood stain on pillow it was just not as clean in that aspect. The cabin itself was absolutely beautiful and spacious! Overall it was way better to see in person just needed a bit more deep cleaning.

We have stayed in several units of the main building and this one was the worst. No paper towels, no hand soap in bathroom (only soap was for dishes), no broom, there’s a Roku TV but no remote and couldn’t change channels etc on tv so we couldn’t even use it, no curtain or covering on main door so people walking by could see in (which means walking from bedroom to bathroom and vice versa you always had to make sure you were covered), no bigger/longer mirror to see yourself in what you’re wearing, no table or anywhere in bathroom to put things, only outlet in bathroom was high above the shower so using hair dryer/curling iron/hair straightener couldn’t happen in the bathroom and no place in bedroom with a mirror either. For $620 for 3 nights I expected a little more.

The cabin was very nice. We enjoyed our stay. The hot tub would not stay heated…..I didn’t call because we were out most of the time anyway. The beds weren’t very comfortable but we made the most of it. I would definitely stay again. The location was good.

Our family had a wonderful long weekend in this cabin. Would love to go back and may sometime but it’s booked already for next year so we’ve had to select a different cabin. Many of the reviews I read stated the elevator didn’t work but it did work for us, just had to read the instructions posted. I was a bit disgusted with former renters that feel the need to throw their trash off of the back balconies. Yes there were a few minor issues but all in all a great value for our large blended family.

We stayed in Bear Play. It was plenty big for our family of 9 adults and 2 babies. However, first night here we saw roaches in the kitchen! The hot tub was full of suds and the water was so low we didn’t even use it! We couldn’t find a way to shut it off. There was a broken leg on a dining room chair, the jets in the jacuzzi on the main floor barely worked. There was no gas in the grill. All the pool sticks had broken tips which we fixed. One of the rockers on the upper deck had a broken arm. There were nail heads sticking up everywhere on the lower deck.

Overall the cabin was beautiful but some serious maintenance is required.

The cabin was beautiful and loved that the back yard was fenced in for my fur baby!! Beds were so comfortable and we loved the fireplaces!! We enjoyed the pool table and arcade games and even tho it was really cold and snowed, some of us enjoyed the hot tub!! The only problem we had was there was a bad smell coming from what seemed to be the drains or something. It got really bad after someone took a shower in the big shower. Other than that it was great! Would definitely book again!!

This was a great house linens and towels included. The beach access was right across the street. The kitchen had everything you need to cook. The decks wrap around the house pool was great right near stores lots of room for our family of six and our dogs ocean view sat in the morning and watched the waves. This was somewhat of a sad trip for us the first time without my spouse and the kids dad. We really enjoyed the comfort of the house. Would definitely rent this house again

HappyStaysX is not functioning, as other reviewers have noted. Login does not work and emails never arrive with the password information for initial setup. And not in spam either. There is no contact info given for support in HappyStaysX . The developer link listed in HappyStaysX Store connects to a 404 error page. Trying to work around that led to what appeared to be the correct developer website, however the chat function never advanced from being 1 ahead in the queue and 8 minute wait time. Gave up long after that amount of time. Use the web site instead for whoever you booked your reservation through and forget trying to use HappyStaysX.

We had a great time and will be reserving this cabin again in the future! My kids loved seeing the train pass and seeing the cabin from our ride with Santa on the blue ridge scenic railway. The happy stays app still has some communication issues but the customer service rep explained the delays.

FYI- follow the email directions, google maps will take you to the other side of Blue Ridge where there is another river ridge.

We have stayed in the cabin under other rental companies with no issues. This visit, we’ll let’s just say I would never rent or recommend this company or this cabin to anyone.
WiFi only work part of the time. With no WiFi, movie room doesn’t work. 2 of the bedroom tvs didn’t work at all. 400 channels only able to get about 15 due to WiFi. Kitchen sink broke. Pots and pans very few and most was burnt on the inside. Hot tub nasty and never cleaned. Beds had blood stains on the mattress covers.
I could go on and on. This place was a disgrace! My brother has stage 4 lung cancer, took him here for some R&R and what a disgrace and so nasty he felt some uncomfortable being there.

We come here a couple times a year but is the first time at Hemlock Hideaway. I rate this Cabin a 3. The amenities offered are great. However, the stove is outdated. It took nearly an hour to preheat just to bake some cookies. A couple of Roachs came out each time we ate. The hot tub was dirty. A dried up bloody rag was left in the bedroom downstairs along with a half roll of toilet paper from previous guest earrings and lipstick. The air hockey table and chairs upstairs could use some maintenance.(very rocky and unstable). The name of the cabin should be placed outside like some of the others.

After a year of no travel, we were looking forward to a get away and spent a lot of money on this place. The pool, hot tub, and arcade games were great. We were however very disappointed with how dirty the place was. Sheets on 2 beds not changed, dirty toilets, old coffee in the coffee pot, old milk in the refrigerator, dirty floors, and just generally dirty. Lacked seating by the pool and in the game area. Dryer didn’t work and was never fixed after we entered a work order. Not to mention the construction directly outside of our windows that started at 7:30 AM. Unfortunately not the quiet mountain retreat we were hoping for.

This is the most modern cabin we have stayed in. The cabin is very inviting with all the comforts of home. The pool is very small and the pool table is tight but the they provide short pool sticks for the tight shots which was nice.

We enjoyed the semi-seclusion. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very large with lots of storage. We really enjoyed the electric fireplaces. We would definitely book this cabin again. Thanks Cabins USA.

The basics of HappyStaysX are just fine but when it comes to things like paying, it gets tough. The buttons are labeled pay balance, which makes a person think they’re paying the entire balance. Then, when you go there you have to carefully make sure you are only paying a partial, if that’s what you want. It’s simply not a very user friendly app. You have to be very careful or you can mess up a lot

I have used Happy Stays for a few of my trips and it’s been an overall enjoyable experience. I love that important information is just an app away. I don’t have to call or contact the owner at all. Easy to make payments and more. Wish all of my trips would include the Happy Stays app!! Another happy guest ;)

Downloaded HappyStaysX at the recommendation of the lodge we booked for an upcoming vacation. Unfortunately, when I entered the password sent to my email, I got a big red error page that wouldn’t let me do anything else. Had to delete HappyStaysX and reinstall 3 times with the same result (iPhone 7). Before leaving a review, I went back to HappyStaysX Store and clicked the link for developer help, and it took me straight to the dreaded “404 page not found.” That’s all I need to know.

I was looking for a nice upscale place to stay while on vacation and came across a place on Happy Stays. It was everything that was described and more. I will definitely use this again as I travel a lot for business trips.

I like that everything I needed to know was so easily accessible. It helped save me a lot of time when trying to figure out things to do.

Had a bit of trouble logging in at first, but once in HappyStaysX it is very user friendly and provides all necessary info.

Easy to find your stay and get all the relevant information necessary for my trip.

HappyStaysX was super easy to use and the local info for the town I was staying in was great. So easy to find great restaurants.

Loved all the information I got about my vacation!

I’m not sure why iTunes has HappyStaysX available. I called support and they said it only works on some phones.

I love HappyStaysX! Makes managing my reservation simple.

I was suppose to use HappyStaysX for communication regarding our vacation rental. After 6 attempts to get a password emailed I finally gave up. Useless app.
