Not easy to get refund. Need patience to go through process to receive tax refund. Problem is that it is hard to find message service that is a big help if the company or if you have made a mistake with emailing what is required to receive the refund. There are other issues that need persistence. The same Information had to be submitted several times, at the store then by me when I received an email from the company and finally by the customs representative at the airport. The customs repre had take time to figure out how I could get the tax refund. The store where I bought the items gave me an envelope and said I should enclose the purchase receipt and a photo of the items. Mail it out. The customs repr said that if I mailed the envelope to the address that was on the envelope, I would not receive any refunds because at that office they would not be familiar or have any thing to do with that type of information.
I order to receive a tax refund had to go through email that had links that were not always accurate, example, link to change password when tapped got to login only. Sometimes was asked to login and sometimes did have need to login.
Persistence, patience and working with company’s messenger service (if you can find it) will help to get refunds.

PieVAT did what it said but only after a long process of many steps that were poorly explained. Longer phrases at each step that explained what was going on would have made it much better. I almost gave up several times due to this frustration. But it did work in the end. Thank you.

When my Copenhagen merchant didn’t provide a paper receipt, saying it’s all in the email, I cringed. But after downloading PieVAT , clearing a few typical hurdles, I got my VAT refund without stopping at airport customs station (which can wreck connecting flight boarding). A BIG plus of this outfit: SUPER cust service rep who took charge of my issue and steered me to the refund (you can credit your Visa card). Great exchange rate back to my currency as well, not a predatory rate. DO always tho get a paper receipt from any overseas merchant showing their VAT merchant # if you plan on recovering VATs.

There are several methods of retrieving your VAT once you have visited Norway. By downloading PieVAT, I was able to get my refund as soon as I got home. I got prompts as to what to do. The prompts were clear. And completing the transactions was a snap. Cash showed up as expected.

Such good news that you are thinking of expanding to other countries . I have never experienced such effortless and efficient tax refund service . I travel all over the world and try not to bother with tax free as it usually ends up more of a hassle and not worth my time and effort . WELL DONE . Hope every country adopts this system .

First time to use PieVAT and I’m glad I found it. I purchased some items for souvenir in Copenhagen and the store owner mentioned to me about the PIE VAT. I didn’t expect much until I started using it when I reached back home. It was so convenient and easy to use. I got my VAT refund a few days after I filed it. I highly recommend travellers to have PieVAT. I just wish there were more stores accredited with PIE.

I used PieVAT to recoup some of the VAT I paid while traveling in Norway, and it was so easy. The store needed to complete some steps when I made the purchase, but after that, all I needed was the receipt, a picture of the items purchased, and a few pieces of personal info, all of which I could upload from my phone. This was way easier than trying to make time at the airport to visit the VAT desk, which was not open when I got on my 6:30am flight. I would definitely recommend using PieVAT if you shop at stores enrolled in the program while traveling internationally!

It took a little longer to check out at the store but so worth it when I did not have to add these receipts in with the others. I always end up forgetting at least one receipt but with PieVAT everything is easy. The reminders to complete my refund after my arriving home were helpful.

Obtaining VAT refunds is a nightmare and totally confusing so I always let it go and lose the money. Not anymore with PieVAT! What a great system, totally streamlined and easy to do on your phone. The best pat is the incredible customer service folks who can answer any questions over chat. Only hope more and more stores will work with this refund provider as it’s definitely the best one I’ve used and totally unique.

PieVAT and its crew are exceptional! PieVAT is easy to navigate and makes the refund process easy, convenient and quick. Despite one minor break down due to inadequate information I personally provided, the PIE team was quick to catch the mistake and notify me immediately! Hoping PieVAT takes off as other international tax refund methods are much more time consuming and complicated. Awesome app !

This is the easiest tax refund app. Many times our flight leaves before the Customs desk opens. With PieVAT, no need to get stamped at the airport. Just a few steps to follow before the flight home and a quick upload of photos once we arrived, and the refund is processed quickly. This last trip we had a lost luggage and communicating with their customer service was easy. They offered options in getting our refund. Highly recommend PieVAT.

Pie Vat has done a great job disrupting the old and archaic tax refund process. No more dragging the family through an extra hour at the airport, only often to be told that you’re missing some sort of paper and have to mail it in anyway; and then sit at home for 6 months waiting for a refund. Pie Vat app is very user friendly, efficient and puts YOUR money back in YOUR account asap! Pie Vat has my vote for best new app, best user experience, best consumer value add, best overall!!

This was incredibly, incredibly easy and SUPER conveniet. No rushing to the airport, looknig for the Blue Global or whatever other company does Tax Free and certainly no lines and no hassle. Filled my personal data, uploaded a photo of the receipt. Got home to the US from EU, took photos of the items that made it home with us, entered my credit card info and literally in less than 12 hrs, it had been approved, I opened my "wallet" in PieVAT and funds were transferred almost immediately.

Just came back from Oslo and was introduced to this great app / service. It is by far the easiest and most efficient VAT refund experience I’ve ever had. No lines at the airport for customs stamps, no waiting for weeks for a refund to process, no nonsense at all. Just a few steps and photos in my hotel before departing Norway and one step once home. Then about 20 minutes for the refund to process in PieVAT , and one click to move that to my credit card. Every store should use this and everyone should embrace it!

I’ve never been able to process a VAT refund so quickly. This certainly encourages travelers to request the refund where PIE is accepted rather than the tedious airport process. PieVAT needs to be everywhere.
