DO NOT BUY IT. Unfortunately, while the interface for OldTimeRadioShows is relatively attractive, once you get past the surface, there are various flaws which render it very user unfriendly. Chief among theses, as has been pointed out by many reviews here, is the fact that you can’t mark anything has having been listened to and/or completed. Without keeping your own personal records, you can easy get lost trying to resume a program or series. Other OTR Apps offer this service, but for whatever reason, this one doesn’t and has steadfastly refused to update with that feature. Why pay for something that you then have to manually supplement yourself? Following that you have misfiled shows, missing episodes not marked, playback skips which exclude whole episodes, lots of misspellings, etc. To sum up: OldTimeRadioShows stinks. DO NOT BUY IT.

OldTimeRadioShows has a huge and wonderful selection of OTR, however OldTimeRadioShows lacks a way to mark episodes as “played”. This is a basic feature missing. Thousands of episodes to listen to but no way to mark episodes as played. Also if you only listen to part of an episode and come back later OldTimeRadioShows does not remember where you stopped. Other OTR APPS have these basic functions as do podcast apps. If you complain about it to the dev, you will get an email telling you to keep a log of played episodes in Favorites. Sorry this is not acceptable.
This could be a great app, it’s selection is superior to other OTR apps but not having a way to mark episodes as “played” is a huge disappointment.

I love the access to countless old time radio shows. It’s Absolutely amazing how many shows are on this one app! I am very pleased and I listen to it everyday!
My daughter is a huge fan of Father Knows Best, and my wife loves Drag net. And I love the westerns.
If I could suggest one minor upgrade, If the developers could find away to mark the shows that we have listen to. Then I will give you six stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love old radio and OldTimeRadioShows has plenty of it. I am also one who paid for the old app and had to pay again. Okay, but for a (now) subscription-based app I expect to see the library expanded periodically with more shows and interface improvements. Nothing has happened for months. Without some effort by the developer, I don’t know that I’ll renew. You shouldn’t take your subscriber base for granted, especially as there are many other apps and ways to listen to old radio shows.

They charge again for shows already purchased from the old app which no longer can updated and no longer works. Their excuse is:
"The amount of money we are asking is very little given the time and money we have spent and also spending every month to pay for streaming and development of OldTimeRadioShows "
Well my money doesn't come free either. If you want to complain about costs and charge those us who've already paid for these shows then get out the business. It's crappy customer service and a disservice to those of us that must work hard for our money.

Excellent app for old time radio programs. There is a very good selection of programs with more being added all the time. The screen is laid out well with the ability to download. Price for a subs today cheap with the ability to pay for just a month if you want to try it out. Also, no annoying automatic renewal. I highly recommend.

Horrible support regarding OldTimeRadioShows! You pay for the 12 month subscription and OldTimeRadioShows continues to block access to the shows wanting you to purchase it again! When you request help on OldTimeRadioShows support they do not respond to your request for assistance. The shows are great but OldTimeRadioShows is a disaster and the developer needs to repair OldTimeRadioShows . Apple support only refunds your money but can’t make OldTimeRadioShows work! Now if you pay three times the price for a one month subscription OldTimeRadioShows then works and unblocks it for 30 days. Clearly a poorly developed app!

The volume is very low . I would like to listen while walking
And working. I need my hands and cannot carrying iPad , so I am unable to hear because the sound is so low on a great many recordings. Also, there are so many programs that take forever to hear because they are broken into five parts about ten minutes long with three minutes just being the introduction. The way OldTimeRadioShows describes its content is very misleading.

If you will not do the appropriate updates need then sell OldTimeRadioShows to someone who will. A beautiful interface but it lacks in so much basic functionality that it’s a major pain. I will not repeat what others have said. Their Facebook page is full of unfulfilled promises and loaded with complaints. Many of us keep it only because of the volume and variety. If someone would make something with everything here no one would subscribe to this

I really began to enjoy OldTimeRadioShows- then when I was looking forward to listen again- FREE TIME IS OVER!! Okay- I never pay for apps- but this is super great- and the $12 a year seems totally reasonable. UNFORTUNATELY after I pay for OldTimeRadioShows - it still says my free trial is up-and directs me to pay AGAIN. TOTAL SHAME.

I’ve used a lot of streaming old time radio show apps, and this one has finally gotten it right. Sound is generally fine, streaming is reliable, unlike some others, and the selection of shows is huge. I don’t mind paying the modest yearly fee for this one!

This is really too bad because there are many blind and low vision folks who would really love OldTimeRadioShows. I would love it too if I could use it and I certainly can see its potential. You all would probably make some more good money if we blind folks could subscribe so please do make OldTimeRadioShows VoiceOver compatible. I know there are tools out there for developers to do that.

The developer is quick to respond to questions and comments.
New shows are often added as soon as they are requested.

DO NOT PURCHASE OldTimeRadioShows. My payment was accepted and successfully processed. The charge appears on my credit card statement. All radio shows remain blocked due to “lack of a subscription.” This glitch could be easily fixed, but five emails over 4 days to customer support have yielded no reply or remedy. At best, OldTimeRadioShows administrator is oblivious; at worst, s/he is dishonest. Now I will have to dispute the charge with the bank that issued my cc. DO NOT PURCHASE OldTimeRadioShows.

Looked over OldTimeRadioShows and tried it, looked very rich in content and OldTimeRadioShows design was sleek but somewhat buggy. Paid for a 1 yr sub which was not recognized after trial ended and had me purchase again and am now charged twice in 3 days. Really sad I got ripped off and worse locked out of OldTimeRadioShows .

Love OTR and OldTimeRadioShows has soooo many episodes, all in one location. The annual fee of $12.99 is no problem at all. Don’t mind paying for good products. PLEASE PLEASE add the functionality to allow “mass downloads”. One episode at a time is just not practical!
