Cantina Reviews

Airtime is fairly easy to use and very enjoyable when no problems occur. However, there are many instances in which the video does not load for some people while others are able to watch the video, which is annoying and can result in a couple of people not being able to watch and enjoy content for the entire session. Additionally, the muting of the video being played whenever something is being added to the queue is annoying. There are constant crashes, some members don’t even have the queue option next to the videos they search up (meaning if they were to add something it would eject the current video playing), and Cantina is just constantly having problems that are hard to ignore since they happen on a regular basis. Other than that everything else is excellent and the stickers/calling features are the most enjoyable aspects of Cantina . It has a lot of potential but it is just frustrating since it barely works.

I keep seeing Cantina on social media and stuff and I never tried getting it until today. I have not been able to see my friends and boyfriend because of quarantine and I thought it would be great to be able to watch movies with them. So this time when an ad about Cantina came up on my screen I decided to install it. However, once Cantina finished downloading, I clicked on it to see a blank purple screen and after waiting a few seconds it just sent me right back to my home screen. I tried deleting Cantina and installing it all over again but that did not work since Cantina keeps doing the same exact thing! Is it just my phone? If it was I would have trouble like this with other apps, which I don’t . I wanted to ask if there’s anything else I can try in order to get Cantina working.

I really appreciate what Cantina is trying to do. It’s a very clever idea and has a lot of potential. Admittedly, I do not know much about programming an app, but as a user of Cantina, I believe my opinion should count for something: there are some major issues with it. First, Cantina crashes whenever I go from the texting screen to the main menu back to the same texting screen. This is just a small bug that I imagine will get patched in the next update. Additionally, messages often do not send or appear on the chat screen when they should. Again, I imagine this is a smaller bug that will be fixed as soon as the problem is found. Second, I would prefer if the black rectangle where the video is supposed to go was smaller or did not appear until a video is presented. I do not have enough screen to see the person I am calling. Third, I would like to be able to move the screen that shows my side of the call. The current placement often covers up part of the face of whoever I am calling. Fourth, I would like to be able to send photos and videos in the message section without presenting them. Fifth, when I type a message, it only shows 3 lines of text. Everything I type will still send if I hit send, but I cannot read it for typos (which I often have). Thank you for reading, and I hope you can address some of my concerns. I really look forward to the future of Cantina.

For the first two movies that I was broadcasting, Cantina worked perfectly. It made life really fun. Then when attempting to watch the third movie in a row Cantina stopped using all sound. No communication was possible which means many witty comments were lost to the void that is time and space. This could have been saved by the messaging system, but unfortunately someone was too lazy to add notifications. I felt like the teenage girl who gets left on read and sends too many messages in a row. Also, to add on to my inner turmoil, y’all decided to play Rango instead of Paranormal Activity 4. Now don’t get me wrong Rango is great, but I was looking to kick it with my homies and watch some scary tv. And it wouldn’t have been such an issue if IT HAD NOT STARTED PLAYING IN THE MIDDLE OF MY MOVIE. now I’ve recommended Cantina to many a person, and I would love to continue to do so, but unfortunately I will not be doing so if there are not changes made to the programming. I loved Cantina when i fist dowloaded it. I could easily see my conversation with my friends along with the past videos we posted in the same box. I loved how it used to be more about video chatting than watching videos. Because now at some moments my friend and i would be sitting there not watching a video, just talking, and we can’t even full screen to talk to each other. we sit there staring at a black screen talking to a little tiny picture in the corner. i’ll be honest, my friends and i absolutely hate the new layout/design/functions of Cantina. we loved it before, even if it did lag and force closed Cantina . we liked the easy to use functions. Now Cantina seems inconvenient to use and we never bother getting on Cantina anymore. Thank you for the memories Airtime.

So I had Cantina for a little while after my friend asked me to download it. It was fun and I enjoyed using filters and stuff to joke around with my friends. But then one of my friends deleted Cantina , and I got a notification that she was joining a room every night at 1am. (She never actually told me she deleted Cantina until I asked her what she was doing every night) So it just really creeped me out and I deleted it. I might end up redownloading it in the future to talk with a friend who I can’t FaceTime due to different types of phones, so I’d just like to know what was happening before I do.
Also, the whole having to have multiple friends to join is very annoying. I only have like 6 friends, so it was extremely difficult to get enough of my friends to join. You can find random people online anyway, so your friends list would grow either way. Plus I doubt that my other friend has enough friends on social media to do it, so I’ll probably end up finding another app if that doesn’t change.

Cantina is a really great idea, and it’s fun to watch movies with your friends without having to leave your home. this being said Cantina also needs to be fixed: i try to open Cantina and it just takes me back to my home screen and i tried to delete it and get it back and it still takes me back to my home screen. no,there’s nothing wrong with my phone or wifi because my other apps are fine. also it says search movies and when i do and i find a movie for me and my friend to watch it tells me there was an error loading it and i can only watch the movies recommend for me which is only a few and not really movies i want to see.

I am not sure if it’s just something that’s happened to me but there are soooo many notifications on Cantina.I’ve had Cantina for about a month now and it’s pretty fun. I certainly don’t use it as much as I use other social media, but it’s fun to use once in a while. I downloaded Cantina and started a “room” With some of my friends,Immediately after I closed Cantina and walked away from my phone for a few minutes I came back and noticed that there were three notifications from Airtime in the five minutes that I was away from my phone. I didn’t think much of it until a couple days later when I noticed that air time had been sending me tons of notifications. The notifications started to slow down after a while, but it’s still kind of annoying. If you’re going to get Cantina do not enable notifications. Other then that is it fun.

Every couple minutes while i’m watching a movie with my friends, the movie pauses by itself. I would not even touch my screen and it’ll just pause by itself, causing me to be a couple seconds behind. Also, whenever I pause the movie and unpause it, it only unpauses for me and not for my friends. If they were to pause it, it works for them but when it’s time to unpause the movie, it works for everyone else but me and I’m here waiting for it to be unpaused once again leaving me seconds behind the movie. It’s a great app but this is the only problem I have. Hopefully you guys can fix it please! I don’t want to delete Cantina and find other but this one is really great but it gets really annoying when it just pauses the movie by itself and it only happens to me and nobody else that is also watching the movie with me.

My friend and I were happy to see an app that perfectly fit out interest, but the constant issues with one person not being able to hear the video when the other plays it, the audio quality bugging out, occasional echoing occurring, and much more. The intention of Cantina was clever, but it needs some serious reworking. It’s too sensitive to the point where when we try to adjust the volume, pause the video, or full screen, it acts as if we swiped to another video. On top of that, the video is knocked out of the playlist once swept off of. The playlist is also sometimes completely deleted if both people leave when other times it stays. At its lowest setting for volume, the audio is sometimes extremely loud still as well. With several audio issues, Cantina ruins the experience we are trying to have.

Ok, so I'm gonna get right to the point. Everything’s great except the AWFUL video and sound quality even when I’m connected to WiFi and I have 4 bars. Texting works fine, but sometimes when I try going live my friends get notifications but they don’t see or hear me. I often talk to my friend and it feels like a very one sided conversation, then she says “Hey it says ur here but why aren’t u going live?” That’s when I realize that I’ve been talking to myself the whole time. You guys SERIOUSLY need to make some MAJOR improvements, bc the only thing that has been keeping us from deleting it and downloading Houseparty is bc the other app doesn’t work at our school and I couldn’t find any other group chat apps. PLEASE create a new update, because not being able to actually chat with other people kind of defeats the purpose of having Cantina.

Coming from the Rabbit app user this is a better app in my opinion. Great ui experience but lacking some key featurs but i know and i hope it will improve in future updates. My only complain is that it seems to draw so much power from my battery i can literally see my percentage dropping quickly. I have an iphone 8 plus and i dont know if this is from Cantina or my phone but my friends are complaining about the same problem. My phone heats up after a while specially when connected to charger and using Cantina at the same time. Other than that i love Cantina. Please keep improving and updating thank u!

I downloaded Cantina so my dad brother and I could watch videos while being at a long distance from each other, although I feel like Cantina is great, I feel like the issue with the internet or connection is strange, I had trouble connecting and talking with my family and friends. I also felt like the video was synced at some times and not at others. For example the video was playing fine for a while but then when I paused it it would only pause it on mine but not on the others. Also when I tried playing it it would take forever to load. I hope these issues can be fixed in the near future.

Please change this back to how it used to be. My friend and I are unable to messages during the video.
I am very uncomfortable seeing my face in the “Go Live.” Also the chat box is smaller and the video box. It would be very appreciated if you just changed it back to the old format. This new update was for ‘easier use’ and it isnt, its much more complex. Its much more easier to use the old format. Id appreciate it if you changed it, other people agree with this in the disliked reviews. Many are even choosing to stop using Cantina just because of the new update. Its simple just change it back.
Also, when videos are presented; they appear blurry and that has to change.

This is a great app to use for multiple calls at a time but it does have its flaws.

In the beginning everything is VERY confusing especially if your joining with other people. Also when watching videos any sound from anyone turns down the volume of the video while there talking and thats kind of annoying, my suggestion is making an option of the people being louder/the main sound or the video being louder. Also it will close me out of a chat after leaving Cantina for about a minute, I was really hoping i could talk to my friends and do other stuff on my phone too. I think it would be fun if you added more avatars and sounds.

Overall its a great app and I woulf totally recommend it.

I would first off like to say that Cantina is awesome, especially while in quarantine. You get to watch movies while FaceTiming your friends. The problem that I would like to discuss is the movies/ shows. While looking for a movie I noticed almost all the movies I looked for they didn’t have or it would be a trailer for the movie or a playlist which I don’t need. The movies/tv shows I looked for and they didn’t have included A Quite Place, which is an old movie so I was surprised when I didn’t see the movie. I also couldn’t find movies like bird box, all the bright places, what happened to Monday, Valentine’s Day, the last summer, escape room, and hunger games. I looked at the movie section and there seemed to be only 20 movies! It didn’t make sense that they had the movie Shrek which is an old movie but had SOME new movies but not all of them.

I’m going to keep it short because as the title says I barely review anything. This is one of the most interesting apps I have come across. The main reason why I downloaded it was to sync stream across different iOS devices especially videos, since I have several iPads in my car and I wanted to be able to share content simultaneously. After spending countless hours trying to find a solution to a problem like this I finally found the best alternative there is. I can’t be happier with you, please keep up the good work and you’ll definitely grow sustainably.

I know, how can an app be cute? Well first of all, Cantina has done some amazing updates since 2016. I use to think Cantina was trash but I came back in 2018 and it's like my favorite app to keep in touch with all the people I have met. You have your own friend circle and it's just amazing. It was so adorable how it asked me how to rate Cantina , I just had to share with review readers. It's especially great for 13 year olds, such as my self. The way how it asked for me was " Hey -your name-, we're bad at flirting so we'll cut to the chase, we like you, same? And you get to friend zone them or rate. It's so much better than seeing the everyday "rate 5 stars, remind me later", when you know you're not going to rate it because too many apps ask

I really do love Cantina and it just keeps improving. I first installed it a year ago and it just keeps getting better and better. The UI has improved a lot since I first installed Cantina a year ago. Cantina was very unstable then and I deleted it. Recently, i decided to give it another try and I’ve been very satisfied. Cantina is way more stable but still has some minor bugs. I do think it could be a lot faster. I’m hooping the developers will continue to improve Cantina because it has a lot of potential. The UI still needs to be more simplified and material like. If you want Cantina to blow up that’s what needs to be done. But like I said I still love to use Cantina and I’m gonna continue to use it. Fantastic concept and keep up the good work and the updates.

There is problem I am having ... I can’t get my phone number in my account I put my number and then it says calling but it never does so I had to put in a family members number and because it’s not my number my friends are having a little trouble finding me and we need Cantina for homework and plain school work after about an hour we all found eachother but then we didn’t really know how to use it because there was no instructions or anything like that. Also when I get texts me on Cantina I don’t get a notification so that’s a little frustrating I tried going to settings and doing every thing but nothing works . Other then those problems Cantina is great 🙂🙂

So I saw a bunch of ads for Cantina on Snapchat and it seemed really cool. Being able to watch videos with your friends on video chat seemed really fun. But then I got to a screen where it required me to message 9 friends with an invite to use Cantina . There was no way to skip this part. From a social standpoint, it would feel awkward to be forced to text 9 of my contacts an auto-generated text message about an app they may or may not care about, and it was enough to make me not want to finish the sign up process. Please make an update where it is made that you can skip this part on sign up, and I will gladly use Cantina and increase my star rating.

If you don’t have Cantina I just want to say it is definitely the best way to hang out with all of your friends! The only problem is that there isn’t really any movies.. it’s usually the same ones.. i feel there should be more too chose from in the movie section. Hopefully this changes! Other than that Cantina is really awesome! It’s the only app I’ve found where me and my friends can just hang out watch movies goof around and put funny filters on if we think we don’t look great that day. Lol. Anyways Great App! Just the one issue! Hopefully this gets changed! Looking forward to the future of Cantina! Thanks for reading! :)
