The idea of this app is great. It says over and over, this isn’t meant to be a substitute for couples therapy/counseling but it has the price tag of a replacement. It was once a subscription of $60/year. It is now $99/year. Nothing can be done without paying the $99. It would not let me continue unless I subscribed. Super disappointing, this is more like a trial app rather than a free app with “in-app purchases”. I’d rather take the $99 and buy books and workbooks referred by licensed therapist/counselors etc. Really wish it did more for “free” or at least something a little more affordable.
The app was fantastic...at first. We did the activities of the first week and as we went through more of them we started to question why we were working on some things while we had so many issues in other areas. I think this app would be better if we were able to choose the things we wanted to work on each week. Allow us to choose a few topics that we would each like to work on as well as maybe one or two that Relish believes would be beneficial based on the responses from our quizzes. It just feels too generic and not personal enough.
I almost never do reviews, but there is legitimately damaging information being shared on this app. I agree with their analysis of attachment styles, but it shouldn’t be one person’s responsibility to work with this when you’re in relationship. It needs to be ongoing work as a _couple_. There is no “calm down” switch for people with anxious attachment styles. There’s therapy, partner work, etc... self awareness is part of that of course, but not the complete answer. I think this app is onto something, but maybe a little too simplistic. Get a good couples counselor instead.
