US news, can't change region; no notifications?

Disappointed that TheIndependent defaults to US-based for the news while the commentaries are UK-based, and that there's no way to change the setting and see UK-based news. I do not wish to be viewing detailed US news like what the President has just done or said hours ago.

There also doesn't seem to be notifications. This is itself bad, though it's at least a relief that I do not need to be bombarded with US news.

This seems to be a random assortment of old articles from an excellent publication. The newest offerings are a week old and many highlighted articles are months old. I can’t believe they charge money for this.

The moment I opened TheIndependent the first thing I see is pure bashing of the president (just like CNN) and the first story I saw was full of false news and evidence to prove its false everywhere the only reason I’m giving it a star is because I have to
