Trail / security camera

Update: I thought it was a learning curve but turns out it’s just really poorly done. The interface is challenging to use and poorly written. The colors are pastels and hard to read. Instructions are vague. There are many examples to site, but one incident I had was when I tried to delete a video it completely disconnected and deleted the camera from Ubox . I had to drive another hour back to the location and physically push the reset button on the camera to get it reconnected. another example is the 4G connectivity and cloud storage. Says it gives you 30 days of 4G and cloud storage but it’s really more like 10 minutes worth. After one night I’m setting up the camera. I had to buy more 4G and cloud storage just for the camera to work and send me notifications .
Prior review that it asks you for directly after installation: It seems to work pretty good so far. I just installed it and connected my camera. It could use some more descriptors on Ubox such as what volume are you adjusting when adjust volume in various screens. Is is the phone volume from the camera or the speaker volume on the camera?

app needs work

i have reset my camera multiple times, charged the battery, uninstalled and reinstalled Ubox ..the camera pairs to wifi, pairs to Ubox , but i still get no picture, HOWEVER i still get notifications and see the preview of the motion that was detected, IN OTHER WORDS the camera picture is FINE the camera itself, IS FINE, but then i got to view it in Ubox and all i get is a reload symbol, not even the spinning reload just two white reload arrows on a black screen...i have reached out multiple times and NOBODY responds at first i got an automated message saying they would reply within 24 hrs..but no they never did..so i have this amazing camera that i love SOOOO much but cannot use it because Ubox SUUUUUCKS now for some reason smh 🤦🏻‍♀️

Way too many false alarms with the camera

First let me say Ubox itself works great. The issues I am having is the camera itself. There are motion alarm notifications every minute. This is with the setting set to the lowest setting on sensitivity. I can’t utilize the motion notification because of it. Kind of defeating the purpose for the camera. Also the preview window on iPhone that is supposed to show you the image in the notification window is always all white. So apperantly the image is not able to process quick enough before the notification is sent. Hope that all makes sense.

Great for video trail cam

The camera consumes a good bit of power, so you need the solar panel in full sun all day. If you view it frequently, the power will not last. If you can get power to the camera to keep it charged, it’s a phenomenal camera. There may be better charging options now as I bought mine about a year and a half ago. Left it out in the field year time ‘round. Recharged my 4G plan, hooked the power back up, and I’m good to go. For home security, this camera is THE BEST. Hook it up to a charger that you can plug in the wall through extension cord, and you’ve got 24/7 access to the camera with sound, video, and near 360 degrees of vision. Great buy.

Easy but missing

I got two WiFi cameras that require Ubox. I have 3’other cameras that use a different app and 3 other cameras that use a different app. So Ubox does not allow me to select the video and delete it unless I buy there subscription or I have to reformat the sd card. My other two apps do allow it without a subscription. Ubox won’t let me open in quad mode to see both cameras live without having to open each one independently. My other two apps allow it. My other two apps allows control of sensitivity from 1-10 so it’s much more precise. I want to love Ubox but there are limitations.

I'd give this 5* if playback wasn't so difficult

I have Ubox to operate my Trailcam.
I've been using Reolink SIM security cameras for the past 2 years, which are not very weather worthy and don't have very good resolution, in my opinion.
So when one of my Reolinks bit the dust, I replaced it with the Ebit Trailcam and WOW! What great picture and remote control response! I rate the picture quality 3x the quality of my Reolink cameras and the camera is fast at responding to controls.
The only thing I find is that it is very hard to get Ubox to simply let me choose and repeat play when there's been something recorded.
I have to exit the camera window and go back and forth between the live camera window and recordings window everytime I want to replay the recording.
Also annoying is that if I want to freeze the recorded video at any important point and capture that image as a still photo, there is no still-photo capture at all on Ubox! To me that's a major necessity for wildlife images, face identity, license plates, etc. The only solution that I have found is to perform a screen grab and save it on my phone as a photo.
If it were not for the arcaich experience running playbacks and no photo-freeze feature, I'd give this camera and app a 5 star.

Good and reliable

Does its job. The only thing I would change is the length of the video clips when it detects motion. I recently had someone try to walk into my house when I answered the door. I put missing between him and my kids and forced him back out. When I tried to retrieve the video clip, it was only a couple seconds long and had stopped recording before he reached to push the door open. I adjusted settings after that so the clip length was longer. But now the only options are 10 and 20 seconds again. That wouldn’t help authorities find and prosecute someone had they succeeded to C get into my house where me and my children live alone.

UBox app - so far so good

Every once in a while it takes a while to connect, but it’s probably the network that the SIM card is on. But otherwise Ubox itself serves my purposes just fine. I can remote into my camera on my boat from another state and just check on it and the surrounding area.

At one point the solar must have not been exposed to the sun and I saw my battery very low and eventually the camera went down. But then a few days later it came back up and was up and running again. So far it’s been almost a year and has worked satisfactorily👍

Good product

Always been very accurate and clear vision and the motion detection works great even when it’s set on it’s medium level. Love to be able to turn the camera and zoom in and out to get better views and footage. At first when I purchased it took me a little time to get used to it but other than that it works great for my everyday extra set of eyes and the solar panel model is fantastic! Mine never runs low, and it’s not even in the direct sunlight throughout the day.

Xega camera through UBox

I’ve got two years experience using this setup with a xega camera. I’ve bragged regularly to my friends with similar 4g trail/security cams. I’ve only recently found out personally about the customer service side of this app. Its really great when you get a pertinent response in a timely manner. I enjoy the simplicity and reliability of this app so much that I added two more cameras this year. I’m having small issues with the cameras but it’s working out smoothly through this app.

Very good!

I read other comments about people complaining about things that don’t work. Those are people who didn’t follow instructions properly and people who didn’t read everything before they bought the products. I’ve owned mine for 2 weeks already and everything work 100% and no issues to report. My camera is still running on its 12th day and it is currently on 73% which mean that it can run for 24 days and still run without having to recharge it.

Confessions of a Former Ringer User: Superb Camera & Viewing Options

Okay so real talk; this camera, app and viewing options are super legit! Crystal clear viewing down to the license plate numbers and way more functionality in Ubox than Ring cameras or app… these cameras and app are what Ring strives to be.. but sadly isn’t. I had to buy twice as many Ring cameras to cover the same areas of three Sehmua pan tilt solar powered security cameras and the free this app app for a 2500 square foot home outdoors. Set up was almost instantaneous- amazing! If you have 5G network you will have to split your WiFi to install the cameras - super easy with Xfinity; literally one button click. The this app app allows you to tilt camera viewing angles up, down and sideways 355 degrees and offers two-way talking. It’s amazing! HD or regular viewing options and CLEAR details of all surroundings. So happy to have found these cameras and the this app app! RUN don’t walk to get these cameras and the this app App! You will NOT regret it!

Awesome!

This thing rocks! It’s lasting through wide open down pours, snow, ice , hard frosts, and roasting on a telephone pole. It’s 75 yards from the wi-fi router. So great range! I use it to detect when anything comes up my driveway. It detects every time, even with a frost covered lense. I have to keep on high sensitivity to detect. It doesn’t hurt the battery at all. It stays charged even with numerous cloudy days. It gets triggered at least seven times a day. Ubox works well, takes about 30 seconds to pull up clip and watch. The camera rotates well with medium quality zoom capabilities.

Great little camera

We had a stranger in our fenced in yard (very late at night) twice in a month. We were alerted by our dogs both times and the person jumped the fence and ran into the wooded area behind the house when we turned on the deck light. We got this little Camera, so that we could capture a picture and possibly identify the person if it happened again. It’s been about two months and the intruder has not returned. It is such a piece of mind that, if the dogs start barking, I can just go to Ubox and look and see what’s going on in the backyard. The camera can be moved all around and can be zoomed in and out. It has a light that can be turned on at night. I’ve Found that I can see better looking through the camera at night than I can looking out the window. It Seems to have “night vision“. It doesn’t move around so well in the freezing temperatures but you can still see through the lens just fine.

Great Live View Camera Overall

Great Quality ☑️. Good video quality ☑️. Nice wide field of view ☑️. Good night vision. There is audio, which allows you to hear what’s going on. You can also speak through the camera. LOVE the sticky pads that allow you to anchor the camera on a wall (or any flat surface) without drilling into it! You also have the ability to drill into the wall to mount the camera as well (if that is what you prefer). Great anchor/tripod attachment. The camera clicks right into it and it allows for precise adjustment of the camera view. Really love this product!

Best security camera system I’ve had

This is the best security camera system of a ad for a couple of years now. This system is so easy to use, and it always comes through from Sharp images to notifications and being powered by solar panels, never runs out of power even during the snow season. The fact that this system does not require you to have a subscription in order to view your securityaround your home is a plus. All in all this is an easy to apply and easy to use security system. I have two cameras running on the system. I just love it gives me great peace of mind.

Overall works well, could use some refinement

Once you learn how to get around, it works well to view cameras and saved videos. There are some things to figure out where to go for different things like the settings gear on the camera list screen vs the settings gear on each camera's page, but after exploring it's not bad.

One improvement I request is to make the text boxes on the customer service chat support modern text input features, like auto capitalization, spell check, etc. All app dev frameworks have this but it's disabled or something. Sounds silly, but it makes communicating with customer service way more difficult.

My piece of mind

I got the security camera because there were things happening around here. I couldn’t explain. Once I put them up, everything is able to be explained, and I was able to retrieve some of my items back. Majority of the time my cameras catch my cats or my dogs and I love being able to watch in on them from time to time and see how their day is well I’m away .I am very pleased with the camera the quality of the picture Ubox that runs it. I have not had any issues so far and it’s been almost a year. Absolutely love, and I always recommend because I now have peace of mind knowing my place has an extra eye watching it all the time

Love it but wish it would stay active all the time.

My first security camera so take this review with a grain of salt. Had some trouble in the beginning but the camera folks at Sehmua
had me reset it and then all worked fine. I wish Ubox stayed connected as daily I have to sign in at least once per day. I have lots of apps that don’t require the resign in, most sometimes ask for a new sign in but this this app app requires it daily. Maybe I am missing something but I have not seen the option to stay signed in. Otherwise this little tool makes crystal clear video even in the std mode, the HD mode is amazing in definition and clarity. I am going to purchase more of these cams for other areas of my property.

Easy to use

Super user friendly. Not very advanced but has all the basic features needed to monitor your indoor space remotely. $3.99/mo cloud storage plan for 30 day backlog of triggered events is also turning out to be good. Can’t find a way to change Wi-Fi on camera besides removing and re-adding camera in app as if new with each change in location I have. Hoping this doesn’t mess up subscription and is serial based. Time will tell!
