Once again, another app rendered utterly useless by a predatory subscription model, it’s genuinely pathetic. In an app designed for timing how many hours you’re clocked in who on earth thought it was a good idea to have a limited amount of entires? And don’t even get me started on the fact that you can’t even save a report of the amount of hours you worked onto your device or send that report to your employer/client without paying $5 a month. We’re in a cost of living crisis, not everyone can afford ANOTHER subscription service on top of the thousands already shilled to use every single day. And the fact that the free trial is only THREE DAYS? Are you seriously that greedy that you can’t even grant people a week? Not to repeat myself but that’s seriously pathetic.
It is very easy to make entries. However, when it comes to reporting it's a complete nightmare. It is not straightforward. You should be able to tap on one project and get the full summary but it doesn't work that way. That's the biggest disappointment. I played several ways with the interactive screens, and read the how to use, and it does not explain how to generate a report for a specific project. Once again… Data entry is easy, but generate a report as a nightmare.
Great app, well thought out. One thing to consider: I had a stroke, so it’s difficult to slide a card and spin to a specific task within the job when using one hand. There may be other users with medical conditions that may hinder the use of that feature. Not sure if there’s a way to address that or if there’s a another way to get to a task. I’ve only had WorkHours a few hours, so I’m sure there are features I haven’t figured out yet. Otherwise, a great app for a freelancer to track hours and costs. Thank you!
As a freelance editor, I work on multiple projects every week, if not, every day. I use WorkHours to simply keep track of time spent on each job. The visual reports make it easy to bill clients accurately. Though the interface is easy to use, its not very descriptive and i find myself clicking around to find what I’m looking for.
All in all, WorkHours works for me!
I love the way the reports are made.
I would like it more, if it was a more cross-platform app, like a web version of it.
Also it would be great to have an option to add some tags and clients to the job. And it would be even more great, if I could generate a report for a specific client and not the whole report of what I have been doing all month.
I would like to see a feature that allows for bulk setting of schedule vs clock in/out. I love being able to print and/or send to clients. The format options help cater to what the client wants to see on their personalized invoice. I would also like to be able to add additional tasks to the same entry. In addition I’d like to see an option for including mileage. Thank you
I love WorkHours , it does everything I need it to do, and the reports say the end of the pay period are nice and easy for my boss to read.
I would give it 5 stars but the reports at the end of the pay period don’t show when my breaks were taken, which my boss wants to be able to see.
ATTENTION DEVELOPER - PLEASE ADD!
**Aside from that the only other thing I wish I could do with WorkHours is have the ability to scan in receipts for purchases made for each job. I would love to be able to record purchases made for each job so at the end of the pay period I could attach it to the reports to be reimbursed if needed. This feature would also come in handy for tax season as well.
**At least adding the ability to manually enter in receipts, or a spot to enter money spent each day would be great!**
I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and it’s been really great. For some reason my widget keeps disappearing from my Home Screen and I can’t figure out if it’s it a bug in WorkHours or iOS. Otherwise, it’s great when I remember to use it. If it stayed on my Home Screen it would be easier to remember but because it keeps disappearing I had to take off a star.
I really like WorkHours , I switched from a different app because it is very modern and has a lot of capabilities. However, two things I wish WorkHours had already is:
The ability to start and en breaks without setting a specific time. I am self employed/work from home. I don’t know when my breaks will start or end. If you could just start a break and pause timing work hours and then stop break and start timing seamlessly that would be great.
Second, sliding the wheel to set the start and end time looks very sophisticated but having the ability to just type it in would also be very nice.
Other than those two things I think WorkHours works great so far.
WorkHours got me through the pandemic and my depression. So easy to use and really helped me see how much time I was spending (depressed) online without making the time tracking itself be a chore. Highly recommend to anyone who wants an objective view throughout the day of their time spent on tasks. Extremely useful for students who want to be able to better estimate how much time particular classes take each week.
I think I downloaded every time tracking app in WorkHours Store and this is the best one for my needs. The price is reasonable, and most importantly it lets me quickly swap between jobs on the go, and even job tasks which is important for my invoicing. I can export all jobs or individual jobs in multiple formats which is great.
Sure would have loved WorkHours earlier in my life. It’s versatile—works for everything and anything you want to track: work, play, and everything in between. If you are a multitasker, but like to keep your priorities in focus, you will love WorkHours. It’s simple to learn as you go. Just open it and start tracking.
Does exactly what I need it to do! This is the best time logging app I’ve ever used! Most of the others I’ve tried, I couldn’t stand to use after trying to make them meet my needs. This one I’ve continued to use every day since I found it!!! Buy it!!!!
Update: 2 years now… Still using it! Still loving it!!!
WorkHours is ideal for my gig. I have an irregular schedule with a summary report due at the end of each month. Without this, I’d be challenged to remember all the hours and details. Features make it easy to add starting and finishing times along with any notes or expenses. The accruing total is nice to view as well. Kudos to the developers of this app. It has met all my expectations.
I picked up WorkHours because currently I am working a couple of projects for a couple clients during the day so record keeping is key! Making entries is a so easy and then adding notes about your time spent is a nice touch to add the complete picture of your workday! For eighteen bucks, you get a years cloud subscription too. So far I am totally loving it!
WorkHours has helped me keep track of my design client hours far more efficiently and more organized than any other app I’ve been using. You can clock in or enter them manually based on your needs and categorize them per job for billing purposes. I’m still learning the ins and outs but overall I’ve been very happy!
In several ways, WorkHours reminds me of many Palm OS productivity and organization apps: they did far fewer things than Windows apps, but they were easy and efficient to use, intuitive, and didn’t bury important functions under a sea of capabilities I was never going to use in the first place. The interface is clean and manageable. I like WorkHours and I use it.
I’ve long been looking for a time tracker that would match the way I think and plan. So far - into extensive use for approx 30hrs - t looks like WorkHours (paid version) will save me TONS of time totaling up hours spent on both large “bucket” areas of focus and just enough granularity with tasks categories to keep project management, budgeting and reports streamlined. Does your company make a similar app for finances? Thank you!
I absolutely love WorkHours and you just cannot
Beat it for the price. I only wish I could change two things, I wish I could automate some of my recordings. Like some of the jobs that I do, I do want a regular basis and so I wish that I could just say once a week it would just automatically put in for me. Only other thing that I wish I could do is that I wish that I could put pictures in the expenses.
I don’t have a company, but was looking for an app to help me manage my time. I have used one years ago, that I thought was really good, but this one... WOW!!! Very easy to set up and use, beautiful, and with lots of efficient tools. I’m sure it’d work if you were self employed as well. And go unlimited, for $8.99, you won’t regret it!
