CarScope: Car Management & MPG Reviews

Full disclosure, I do not use the “Trip” function. I only use out to track fuel mileage and maintenance, but I do it for 5 different vehicles. I had a very small amount of difficulty using it when I first started, but that was because I was use to my previous, and significantly more complicated pro version tracking app. I was literally trying to over complicate CarScope because the other app has ruined me. CarScope is the easiest and most efficient way that I have found to keep all of my expenses and maintenance requirements current/up to date. Definitely recommend.

I have used numerous apps over the years. They all either did way too much or way to little, with almost all of them charging for the most basic features. Although CarScope does everything I “need,” it does it so well that I am upgrading.

Super easy way to keep up with my fuel ups, MPG, maintenance, & any other expenses for my vehicle. A lot of people do not take the extra minute to keep up with their MPG which is crazy because that’s such an easy way to find out if something is going on with your vehicle & it doesn’t cost a dime.

I installed this on a new phone and now can’t access my other cars. I paid for CarScope a couple of years ago and was told (I emailed them directly) it was a one time purchase and now they want me to buy a subscription and won’t let me access my car. Just because you change the program doesn’t mean you shouldn’t honor the previous deal. I done! It I have to pay a subscription I’ll use another app. I hate being ripped off. Don’t pay for this because they’ll do the same to you.

It is so easy to use CarIQ. Every time I fill up or get maintenance completed, a quick gesture to open CarScope , enter the requested information, save, and voila! I have a great log of when items were done and I can see how my car is performing. Easy peasy! ❤️

I enjoy CarScope . A little difficult to backtrack if you accidentally forget to log a fillup though. Wish there was some functionality to notify you missed an entry so that it can rationalize your mpg’s more realistically.

I have been using CarScope for just about one month. It is easy to start up and enter data. The reports are very detailed. I have upgraded to see if I want to keep all of the premium features.

It is the smart tool and easy to use. Interfaces are user friendly and contains lovely summary report. I have been used CarScope for 18 months and I can monthly track my expense and notify my periodic schedule.

Overall app is good. I like the ability to put in maintenance but wished I could put in more info as to what type of maintenance etc. Maybe missed that ability?

I payed for CarScope a couple years ago, now even though I paid for it begin with and it was a “one-time purchase”, it wants me to pay a monthly subscription to use an app I’ve been using for quite awhile. RIP OFF! And now I can’t even export my data to use in another app! DO NOT TRUST THESE DEVS! Changing terms of an app WITHOUT warning to users! Now years of data is LOST because I have to PAY to export MY data.

This used to be a decent app, then someone bought it or it changed names - they redesigned the entire format, which looks more professional, but I don’t think it’s easier to use or understand. I paid for the program when I bought it, which was supposed to be it, now they’ve started charging a subscription fee. Absolute BS. I’m going to start looking for an alternative.

I’ve used CarScope for over a year and had no issues. I pay for the pro version. All of the sudden, one day, my app reset. I lost a years worth of fuel logs and mileage. I have emailed twice to find hep from CarScope developers but cannot seem to get any response. I just want my data back so I can use it for my taxes. All of my photo taken receipts are now gone.

Very easy to use and I should probably use some of the other tracking options

I like CarScope but I wish that it had a place for me to app just my mileage and not when I enter other stuff in.

I want to be able to log just my mileage alone as well. I use another app that allows me to enter it alone.

Asks you to create a venue but doesn’t save it. I walk dogs and try to save their addresses as a venue and name it the name of the dog but it doesn’t save so I have to type in the address each time I want to log a trip

I like the 1 month average performance feature

I loved the original version of CarScope. But since it’s been taken over by another developer it’s becoming less and less functional. My biggest gripe is that all the metrics are now rounded.

There’s no need for that. Do you think an iPhone doesn’t have enough computing power to calculate gas prices and mileages to a couple of decimal points? This is just lazy coding.

Had trouble with conversation but it is working now. Works great it shows us how much we have a spent on fuel in our motorhome on our trip out west.

So far CarScope has been ok.. The only thing is having to pay for some basic services with CarScope is the only thing I’m not liking.
