Intercom App Type B Reviews

As it is right now, IntercomAppTypeB for our doorbell monitor is basically useless and very unreliable.

I work for a meeting space where we tend to have 20+ meeting attendees entering our space each day. It is crucial for our doorbell to work properly. However, when someone is at the door and IntercomAppTypeB rings on my phone, it takes about 30 seconds to connect to the monitor, and sometimes, it doesn’t even manage to connect. It is just easier to walk to the monitor because I know that it, at least, is more reliable (though still not 100%). Surely, it doesn’t have to be this difficult?

Another thing that happens more often than not is that after IntercomAppTypeB on my phone begins vibrating, it will keep vibrating even after i’ve unlocked the door in IntercomAppTypeB or through the monitor. I would then have to completely close IntercomAppTypeB for the vibrating to stop. Please fix the bugs and make this a more seamless experience.

App continues to ring on device even after the intercom has been answered on another device. There’s no way to silence or turn off notifications on app so it continues to ring no matter what. I had to set up a 2.4ghz network just to get IntercomAppTypeB working. I’m so disappointed as I thought this would be the solution we were looking for. Too late to return the hardware so we’re stuck with it.

App constantly gives me the “system currently in use” error. After trying for 6-8 times it will sometimes connect. Typically once I get it to connect the driver is either walking away or they’ve already called my cell phone number which I had to post on the door. We had a cheap Ring doorbell previously which worked 1,000 times better than this!

Unfortunately there are tons of glitches and it’s impossible to use if you don’t catch it the first time you get the alert and open IntercomAppTypeB . It will say ‘system in use’ and then no matter how many times you close out the application you can’t use it. Incredibly frustrating. Also IntercomAppTypeB is super slow to load.

Do not install this system. IntercomAppTypeB has a lot of problems. It is slow to connect when someone rings. They frequently leave before AIPhone connects, if it connects at all. Many times it just won’t connect to either the camera or to replay the video so you can see who rang the door. Garbage app that ruins an otherwise good hardware system. DoorBird is better.

I am also having a problem with IntercomAppTypeB even after the update. I have to walk over to the monitor because IntercomAppTypeB gives me a connection error or says app is in use still 15 minutes later. Very unreliable. It would be nice if product that was sold to me worked properly. Please fix this bug. Very frustrating to be at work and not be able to open for deliveries, yard men and others who come to my home while I’m away.

IntercomAppTypeB is extremely annoying to use. I use IntercomAppTypeB to allow delivery drivers to leave packages in the gated area, and when it doesn’t work, I can’t receive packages. When IntercomAppTypeB works it’s great, but when it doesn’t it’s so frustrating. The most annoying issue is getting a “Connection Error”, then that will prevent you from unlocking the door. You will get “The system is in use. Retry later.”, this error message will prevent you for doing anything for at least 1 minute, even if you force quit IntercomAppTypeB and try again. You’ll need to wait.. and by then, most delivery drivers will have left by then.

System is in use error should not exist! I should be able to override the current session. This is just bad programming, and it’s very frustrating.

When it works it’s a great system to have for additional security. Unfortunately IntercomAppTypeB works maybe half the time. It is always losing connection or takes forever to load. We lost a client because they were outside ringing the doorbell and IntercomAppTypeB never notified us on any of our phones.

We have had this system installed for months, and all of a sudden IntercomAppTypeB will not connect to the master unit. We’ve even tried uninstalling IntercomAppTypeB and reinstalling it, deleting it from the master unit and reconnecting it, and it just doesn’t work anymore. No calls come through to IntercomAppTypeB and attempting to open the monitor or look at recorded events gives a connection error, which the FAQ does not address at all. This could not be any more bare-bones.

The worst thing about IntercomAppTypeB is that once you turn notifications on, you can never turn them off. I have to use IntercomAppTypeB for work, but even when I go into settings and turn notifications off, they don’t stop. So I get alerted every time someone rings my work’s doorbell at all hours and on my off days. It’s infuriating. Am I really going to have to uninstall IntercomAppTypeB every weekend and go through the whole process to reinstall and program it every Monday to ever have a break?!

This is a (new to us) app used for work. Why are we receiving notifications when not at work? We have cellular data turned off for IntercomAppTypeB . We were told that it would only send notifications when phone is on the same WiFi as the system. Instead we receive every notification no matter if in building or in the next state.
We would at the very least like the option to set a time schedule of when to receive notifications. Like a do not disturb function.

This is one of the most unstable App I downloaded in the past 3 years. Response time is slow and often too late to answer to the visitor. And also often upper part for video black out and no image is shown.
What is most frustrating is IntercomAppTypeB makes iOS’s video playback routine crash, and any video (on the web, YT, Vimeo etc) won’t be played after I use this AIPHONE b app. So I need to restart to iPhone in order to watch video with other App. I’ve never seen this before with an Apple approved App.
I strongly encourage the developer to rewrite the video playback part so that it doesn’t affect other Apps on iOS.

AiPhone, I am an Apple developer and really disappointed by this application which my wife and I just installed with our doorbell system. The application needs to be more stable and the UI looks like a high school intern made it. A “Connection Error” prompt occurs frequently, and the unlock feature and camera becomes unusable, which are mainly why most people probably download the application. There are literally millions of apps in IntercomAppTypeB Store that have effective UI design and for the errors, that just falls on poor software engineering. As I first time user of AiPhone app, I beg you to please fix these issues reported in these reviews, and it’s 2024. There should be no reason for IntercomAppTypeB not to be great

Really, if it weren’t the ONLY WAY to unlock my aiphone door lock I wouldn’t have it. There is NO WAY to turn off ringing, so your phone rings anytime someone rings the doorbell.

It’s useless for answering the door because the ring is usually 30 seconds to two minutes late!

It does allow you to unlock the door remotely, which is the only reason I gave it two stars instead of one.

The fact that I can NEVER turn off notifications for IntercomAppTypeB is absolutely ridiculous. I literally have to delete app to stop notifications and reinstall app on-site to get them again. Very user unfriendly and seems like a super basic feature. Please push this to top of list for updates.

Works but could use some things to make it work great. There should be an option for notifications to be silent or a set time frame to receive notifications. Similar to a do not disturb. Also, if when the call is answered it reflected that in the notification. Since you can have multiple people registered this helps communicate a call has been taken.

Please please please give the option to silence notifications. I have to delete IntercomAppTypeB when on vacation or other situations where I don’t want my phone to buzz every 2 mins.

Deleting IntercomAppTypeB and reinstalling it is not ideal.

IntercomAppTypeB seems to work more or less ok, but please for the sake of a user’s sanity, add the ability to silence notifications - either over a specific time window or just simply until someone turns it back on.

I use this for work and it is slow at times. The most annoying part of IntercomAppTypeB is even if someone lets a visitor in using a station, it’ll still keep going off on my phone until I silence it.
