I was so excited to have this produce to live stream my Zumba Fitness classes, however I am having the worst time with the Pod and PivoPlay . I paid extra for the silver version but it stops tracking halfway though songs and disconnects. After charging the pod over night with the charge cable it comes with I can only get halfway though a four minute song before it stops tracking (using AI) and the pod disconnects from my phone and shuts off. I even tried using the pod while plugged into a power source and the same thing happens. I ended up taking the pod down and reverting to my old tried and true set up of live streaming and recording. I am using an iPhone 11 Pro Max with the latest iOS version and the latest version of the Pivo app. I don’t know what the issue is but I feel this was a real waste of money.

Update (5/30):

With the new app update I have a whole more problem on top of the previous one. I cannot log into my Pivo account. It doesn’t matter if I try logging in via Facebook, Google or manually, I get a “Failed Internal Server Error”. You cannot use the pivo pod without logging in with an account so basically my Pivo is useless. This is turning into a colossal waste of money. I have had my Pivo for over a week and I have yet to be able to use it for the advertised purposes. If this isn’t fixed soon I will be requesting a refund. I will update my reviews with any resolutions. Until then SAVE YOUR MONEY!! DO NOT BUY!!

Bought this and it just came today .Tried multiple times to set up an account on my iPhone but it says error. Even tried logging in with Facebook and Google but still got the same thing! I’m upset I spent this amount of money just for it NOT TO WORK.

Now that it’s been fixed Iv been able to use it and I will say I’m impressed it has a horse feature! Now I can do my virtual shows!

One of the demographics Pivo advertises to is dancers, like myself. So I was so excited to finally have my own little full-body tracking mount which works great! My disappointment comes from the face that the Pivo camera (unlike some other camera apps you can download) does NOT allow you to play music while you are recording. They offer this as a viable option for dancers, but how am I supposed to dance if I’m not even able to play music on my phone to dance along to while Pivo tracks my movements? I can’t exactly use an app to fix the issue, because Pivo only works by using PivoPlay, and I have found no other way to work around this. I desperately wish that somehow they allow for music to continue playing as you video record on Pivo, which seems to me like a key factor in the whole dancers using Pivo scenario.

Pivo failed to inform backers via ks of supported phone models. As a developer they can limit the devices that can download an app yet they left the unsupported 5c in. 5C PivoPlay launches but every feature crashes. You can download for the iPad but not sure if that’s intentional. Regardless of device the UI is good but accessing it is poorly thought out and has issues almost seems untested when devices are in landscape mode. Vertical device placement shouldnt be a requirement in any of the features not sure of what limitation would for e this. Menu access should rotate along with the phone i.e. phone is vertical swipe in from left and right when in landscape the same should occur but it doesn't you have to swipe down or up when the phone is in the device this is nearly impossible. Could be a good product if support catches up to the marketers who are way out front selling a partially functioning product. I will update the review as my pivo use continues

This device is okay. Not great, just okay. I just finished a 30 min jump school and this device cannot track a moving object to save its life. I wanted to chuck it into a brick wall multiple times. Any time you pass it it will stop following you or keep turning to the point of where it’s facing away from the arena. So NOT worth the money. If you’ve got a huge ring and put the device far away you might be fine, but otherwise just dig out the extra couple hundred for the tracking devices that have armbands or the like and can actually track you and your horse. I’m so utterly disappointed because my horse tried so hard for me today and I never get any videos being a trainer, I was so excited to watch him go only to discover it captured less than 25% of my ride.

I love the design, quality and thought behind the product, I bought is for Skype and FaceTime calls with ZERO luck, I though that it would cover atleast the very basic but having to download and have others download and give information and verify emails etc and so on is truly pathetic, you guys have to step up your game, i would have given it 5 stars but if i cant use it for what i use most why so you even support ios ? Please add those and see your sales skyrocket, if you dont you will never gain many customers, actually you are about to pose this one and I returning the product sadly because i like it and would like to keep it, but 150$ foe something that is no use for me is a waste of a good dinner

I wrote a review prior to this one and it basically stated PivoPlay had some serious bugs and that the restream feature where comments come on the screen (which is advertised on pivos website in pictures) simply doesn’t work.
PivoPlay developer said that they fixed the issue with this update but I’m still not getting my comments on screen. The tracking is a bit better tho then it was.

Developers if you are reading this please look into the restream stuff and see if you can fix the no comments on screen issue. It really makes live streaming in PivoPlay useless if you can’t see any engagements like you advertise in photos on the website.

This is very cool for the price. My issues were the movement tracking and horse tracker. Recommendations...There needs to be a dog tracker and there needs to be a way you can lock the movement tracker on the primary person in the video. It doesn’t know who to follow if more than one person is moving. It keeps locking on people in the background if they move and it doesn’t follow my dogs at all. It would be cool to be able to let it know who to track and the order of importance. Other than that, I’m happy with its performance.

So I just purchased my Pivo Pod Silver and tried it out today while riding my bay TB. No real complaints honestly except for the fact that for some reason, tracking is only working correctly when using the front facing selfie camera vs primary back facing camera. I have an iPhone 11 Pro that I bought exclusively for the camera and son for this device to not work the way I’d hoped is upsetting. Not sure if it’s a bug or something I can troubleshoot, so I’ll update this review as I receive support.

Not sure how I was living life without it. The Pivo is great at tracking horses and I’m having a ball putting together little shorts for my friends! It has also helped a ton with my riding. It’s very powerful to be able to put a visual to the corrections my coach is giving me. Also helps me troubleshoot what I’m doing wrong when my horse isn’t doing what I ask!

I have an IPhone that can take slow motion video. Is there a way to set the Pivo to do that? I am a horse rider and would like to use it.
I also would like to be able to do lessons with my trainer remotely since she can’t always get out to do it in person. I have a eartec radio set that we use during lessons and I am going to try attaching the mic to the tripod to see if I can hear her while FaceTimeing.
I have the Pivo silver and I really like it but I am still learning how to use it.

Since the last update it’s horrible for recording horses. Now you can’t turn the camera around (selfie mode) so you can’t see what you’re recording when you’re on the horse or working with the horse. It’s constantly getting lost and I have nothing in my recordings. I am a trainer and this is very frustrating. Have to upgrade and get a much better system. Before the upgrade were you can’t turn the camera around, it worked pretty well for the money. I wouldn’t recommend it at all now!!! I had it on my website, but had to remove it there as well.

Functionality on my iPhone 11 is great. App download was quick, quick setup directions were easy to understand, and I was shooting video in under 15 minutes. Being able to clap to take photos from a distance wasn’t a reason I bought it, but instantly fell in love with that function. Looking forward to playing with all the settings.

Absolutely love PivoPlay (and the new app Pivo Meet) just wish it were more stable and wish there was a timer before going live or before recording. There is a 3 second timer in Pivo Meet surely they can add a 10 second timer to Pivo to give you time to get in position before you record or go live. Other than that great app.

The Pivo device and PivoPlay are terrible! I’ve had nothing but problems with both. It constantly fails to save my videos or cuts off while recording even when my phone is in airplane mode. I’m unable to edit any of my videos on PivoPlay and I’m constantly being bombarded with failure notifications every time I use PivoPlay .
Not to mention when PivoPlay fails to save my recordings I’m kicked off PivoPlay and have to restart my phone to get back on. Do not waste your money and find something that actually works!

I haven’t tried all the features yet but I purchased it for the face following feature and it works perfectly. I am amazed that it is so simple to operate. I can’t wait to try more of the options. I’m already thinking of how I can use the various effects just for fun.

Unfortunately I cannot seem to get PivoPlay to work for me. I purchased the Pivo to record myself dancing and PivoPlay either: freezes, crashes or pauses my music every time I open it while music is playing.

I contacted support and they weren’t exactly what I would call helpful. They recommended I play music from a different source, which just isn’t an option for someone who dances in the gym and doesn’t have a speaker or spare smartphone. All I wanted was to be able to record myself dancing while music plays out of my iPhone speaker or out of my AirPods to edit music over later.

I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max running on latest iOS so I feel like wanting music to play while PivoPlay is open shouldn’t be so impossible in 2021.

This is a huge disappointment considering all the positive reviews

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max, Pivo does not work at all. I have PivoPlay and it connects, but as soon as I want to start recording the camera view freezes. The video timer starts counting, but the video remains frozen. When I end the recording I get an error message saying that video recording failed.
What a waste of money for the silver edition.

I left a one star website review, but since there moderate reviews, mine wasn’t posted. They only show five and four star reviews! Scammers!

I am so impressed with my Pivo system. It is so easy to record classes at my training center and be able to post them to my students.

It pretty easy to use and tons of tutorials out there for the more complicated stuff.

Support is great and people are interested and engaging. PivoPlay was great and fluid but since iOS 14 it’s buggy and plagued with errors. Just some modes work, PivoPlay doesn’t always connect with the pod, it freezes in the middle of capture, and so on. I’ll wait for the a better update of it to work properly with iPhones. Mine is a Pro Max 11 on the latest ios14.

I was having trouble with the time lapse. I wanted to be able to set the timer for what I want, but it’s somehow connected to how much it rotates??? Makes no sense. I dont need it to rotate that much, either. I tried to submit a ticket, but that part of PivoPlay kept crashing every time I was almost finished, which is beyond annoying. It would be great to not have to use PivoPlay and to be able to use my phone’s camera except for setting it up, too.

Having a hard time saving the files to my phone or even sharing it on airdrop. It’s saying 1 video file is a folder which doesn’t make any sense. Please help. I really like pivo but this is so annoying.

I was very excited to use this for filming. I bought the device on indigogo as soon as it was posted. It hasn’t worked for me once. All videos aren’t saving so due to the fact that they are mostly fitness videos, it’s exhausting to get done with a workout routine only to go review it and it’s nothing there. and facial recognition isn’t recognizing. I have the iPhone 11 so it isn’t a phone issue either. I really hate leaving bad reviews but I really had hopes about the device and PivoPlay .

The product is very well made and provide lots of cool features. I like many me the most, tiny planet and double take are also cool. Keep up the good work!

When I tried to login in it tells me my email is unverified and then gives an error message telling to try later when I send the email to verify. From what I can tell this device is worthless without PivoPlay . I took a gamble and lost $100. If I were buying this I’d make sure the reviews came up since they are very low right now and show that this device was not ready for market.

I backed this project and was very excited for its object tracking feature. I finally had time to try it out, but when I reviewed the content I created, it only showed a blank screen that wouldn’t actually load. I lost a good 5 mins of video. Also, every time I tried to delete content from the media the entire app crashed.
