App and installation is very simple
I had to update my app and saw all the bad reviews for this app. I don’t know why people are having so much trouble with setting everything up. As long as you follow the instructions you will be fine. It’s not rocket science to screw in the bulbs, turn them off for ten seconds, then back on again for ten seconds. Once that is done, everything within the app isn’t that hard either. I have lights set up in different rooms and have them paired together. I can control them individually if I like too. It’s easy to set up fading colors and solid colors. I also have it set so that my lights turn on with my alarm in the morning to help wake me up. No reason to give the app a low review because you have the iq of a mosquito. Good app and product. 5/5 stars
Not good enough!
I have purchased Luman light bulbs, and they do work okay. The set up for them was extremely difficult, especially trying to set up two. The set up process could be simpler. This app though has been given me trouble though. Your supposed to have an account, and almost every time I want to use them I have to re-sign in, which gets very annoying. Also when signed out the Siri functions weren’t working, so it was in convenient. The apps layout is also not set up very well. Thus leaving out control capabilities of my lights. Over all it okay, but it could be a lot better.
Everything about pairing the bulbs is pretty simple so I thought I’d toss that in there but when trying to create scenes, there is no logic whatsoever in that nothing you do while creating one gets saved and you cannot pick just one solid color because the app forces it to blink so it’s constantly like something is broken as well as the fact that when trying to add multiple colors A) none of them save so you’re left with one blinking color again and B) the transition style doesn’t save either so the subsections at the bottom of gradual or jump don’t matter and C) just like with single colors, each color fades to black for some reason before changing to the next color without any setting to modify this whatsoever so you cannot change smoothly between colors.
Bulbs decent for price but that app is a buggy unstable mess.
They really need a stability update for the app. It’s was a little confusing at first how to get the bulbs to connect because there’s a pretty big delay. And then it’s doesn’t really explain how to change the color tone of the bulbs you just kinda gotta figure it out on your own while the app is constantly freezing and lagging. It’s will constantly delete your saved scenes and fav color schemes which is a big annoyance. Beyond the app the bulbs themselves are pretty solid for the price. Could be a little brighter and more noticeable difference in color between the main colors choices some colors just look white when they shouldn’t be but honestly that could mainly be due to the poor quality app.
This would be a 5 star buttttt....
So as I said in the title, this would and could definitely be a 5 star, but there is one problem with this app... setting the darn thing up. It’s very complicated and seems like for some people and won’t even work, the things difficult at first, I just simply stopped listening to the bad advice the app was giving and just looked at WiFi right away for the AP mode even without being on AP mode, worked. I just kept trying to connect until it brought me to the AP mode and it let me connect, everything after that was awesome. Definitely buying more from the ppl.

I have literally never written a review on an app before, but I needed to vent about this one. We got the smart lightbulbs hoping to have some funky (and maybe also fresh) lighting in the room, but no. We can’t have nice things can we. We have tried for 3 days, on 2 separate phones, about a million times to try and pair these lightbulbs and they just won’t connect. We have exceptional internet and the router is no more than 3 feet from the lights and my phone at any given time in here. No matter what it hits 98% on the pairing and errors. We tried the AP mode and the connection from the bulbs has never shown up. We’ll be ordering a new set of smart bulbs later, but be wary this app produces the most frustrating pairing process I have ever dealt with.
Wifi connection issue
If you are having trouble getting the app to connect to your wifi.. you need to make sure you share your location with the app (this is done in your phone settings) and then RESTART YOUR PHONE. After I got over this hiccup (by hiccup I mean hours of me resetting my wifi, changing dozens of settings on my phone and screaming obscenities while shaking my phone around), the rest of the setup was painless :)
App needs work
I bought two luminan bulbs, and I have to say setup was easy. Like really simple. The bulbs themselves are awesome, I just followed the instructions and they were both connected in no time. Most of the app however is a different story. The wake up features in the scheduling part of the app work, however it is a little confusing to set them to your desired brightness. The adjustments on the bulb color and temperature are completely unusable most of the time. It just bugs out and won’t let me adjust anything. Overall a great idea. Needs work on execution.
So far so good!
I’ve owned two of these lightbulbs since the beginning of October which help illuminate our living room with Halloween type colors. We are currently enjoying them. We were also able to easily program our own program and set the colors to our favorite football team. It was pretty cool during game day on Sundays. We’ve only owned it for over a month but so far it seems to work in pretty good. The only real question is longevity.
Connection issues and stopped working after recent iOS 14 update
I never write review but this one deserves it. I’ve deactivated my 5G band to only allow 2.4. I’ve restored to default settings. Tried to connect both on EZ mode and AP mode. None of it works after I updated to the new iOS 14. I can’t even send help messages in the app who were also not helpful. You need to get on top of this. It’s already a super frustrating app. We want to use your product and you make it so difficult for us to get even the simplest things done. Please reach out to get in contact w me because I would love a refund or a working product.
What a Steal
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the lightbulbs I ordered al I wanted was for them to change color. That being said, this app and the product have exceeded my expectations. I haven’t had any real issues with neither and you have so many options for customizing your lights. The app is user friendly and super easy to use. Highly recommend it.
Love these lights! So pretty and the color is amazing. The lights are super easy to change with the app. Although I had to remove the lights twice from the app because it kept saying that they were offline. It’s kind of hard to make scenes because you don’t have that much control over what you do. Overall the app is great and so are the lights.
Used to be consistent, now failing to work.
I received two lightbulbs as a gift last Christmas and set the lights up without a hitch. The colors were awesome and having the Echo Dot control it was game changing. However, after Hurricane Isaias, our power went out for a few hours. Since then, I haven’t been able to connect it no matter what. I’ve reached the end of my wits. I hate it here. It wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t stuck on the most disgusting default blue light setting that makes everything look vaguely sickly.
App works just fine
Not sure why all these people having such issues. The instruction manual is pretty easy to understand and every issue that people have been complaining about is non-existent as there are ways to do exactly everything they said they couldn’t. Not as good as HUE but works just fine.
