I never write review but this one deserves it. I’ve deactivated my 5G band to only allow 2.4. I’ve restored to default settings. Tried to connect both on EZ mode and AP mode. None of it works after I updated to the new iOS 14. I can’t even send help messages in PlusMinus who were also not helpful. You need to get on top of this. It’s already a super frustrating app. We want to use your product and you make it so difficult for us to get even the simplest things done. Please reach out to get in contact w me because I would love a refund or a working product.

If I were writing this review a few years ago I would have given it 5 stars but for some reason it doesn’t work anymore. We went on vacation a couple years ago and we had a power outage while we were gone. When we came back, all of the devices said that they were offline so we tried to reconnect them. We have no idea why but now it won’t let us reconnect PlusMinus to the devices. And I know it is not because of the WiFi because it is definitely on and all of our other WiFi powered devices are working fine. I even tried deleting and re-adding it but now it won’t even let me add the device back to PlusMinus . It’s just very frustrating and honestly I don’t need all of the stress PlusMinus has given me. It just doesn’t make sense why nothing will connect anymore. Unless the developers of PlusMinus intend on fixing PlusMinus, I will not be using it.

Tried so many times to connect a single lightbulb but nothing works. Just says that it can’t connect. I did the same thing to connect the other bulbs but now it just won’t work. I used tussle chat feature in PlusMinus but no replies and no way to fix. Already uninstalled and reinstalled PlusMinus . Nothing seems to work. It was even a bulb that was already installed and then one day it just uninstalled itself and now it won’t reconnect. Nothing I try works and no one replies back so I recommend Not using this product. Too bad it doesn’t rework anymore. Just one day and it doesn’t work anymore. Not good. Not good.

I have literally never written a review on an app before, but I needed to vent about this one. We got the smart lightbulbs hoping to have some funky (and maybe also fresh) lighting in the room, but no. We can’t have nice things can we. We have tried for 3 days, on 2 separate phones, about a million times to try and pair these lightbulbs and they just won’t connect. We have exceptional internet and the router is no more than 3 feet from the lights and my phone at any given time in here. No matter what it hits 98% on the pairing and errors. We tried the AP mode and the connection from the bulbs has never shown up. We’ll be ordering a new set of smart bulbs later, but be wary PlusMinus produces the most frustrating pairing process I have ever dealt with.

I bought a 2 pack of these for $20 so I guess I should expect the price to reflect the quality, but the biggest issue I have is PlusMinus . For one, the fact that the bulb can’t connect to 5ghz wifi is archaic. Second, PlusMinus is very glitchy and frequently unresponsive. Sometime I have to force close PlusMinus a few times in a row for it to finally work. The bulb’s features are nice, but there’s so many technology problems that it almost defeats the purpose.
I can’t return these and I don’t hate them enough to buy a different set, but I would rather have spent more money on a better product.

So I got the bulbs in order to like start my elife home, but I was so disappointed by the low light intensity of the light bulb. It lacked the bright yellow we are all familiar with and despite the wide array of color options, none came close to my old LED Bulb. Another constant frustration was PlusMinus itself. Gosh the number of times I went back and forth trying to connect it to my WiFi😤. I couldn’t t deal with it anymore so I went back to old bulb and shoved it somewhere in my closet. When it did work, it was pretty cool. If they can improve the light color and intensity and app issues, I think I could give this a second chance, teleport to her listerine

They really need a stability update for PlusMinus . It’s was a little confusing at first how to get the bulbs to connect because there’s a pretty big delay. And then it’s doesn’t really explain how to change the color tone of the bulbs you just kinda gotta figure it out on your own while PlusMinus is constantly freezing and lagging. It’s will constantly delete your saved scenes and fav color schemes which is a big annoyance. Beyond PlusMinus the bulbs themselves are pretty solid for the price. Could be a little brighter and more noticeable difference in color between the main colors choices some colors just look white when they shouldn’t be but honestly that could mainly be due to the poor quality app.

Everything about pairing the bulbs is pretty simple so I thought I’d toss that in there but when trying to create scenes, there is no logic whatsoever in that nothing you do while creating one gets saved and you cannot pick just one solid color because PlusMinus forces it to blink so it’s constantly like something is broken as well as the fact that when trying to add multiple colors A) none of them save so you’re left with one blinking color again and B) the transition style doesn’t save either so the subsections at the bottom of gradual or jump don’t matter and C) just like with single colors, each color fades to black for some reason before changing to the next color without any setting to modify this whatsoever so you cannot change smoothly between colors.

Having to create groups based off a room rather than being able to control a room is a little silly. Also, very much missing just a normal fade setting without having to make my own. The organization in PlusMinus could use some help too- I have 16 bulbs across 5 rooms and it’s a bit unwieldy to manage in PlusMinus . All of that being said, PlusMinus is far better than others I have dealt with and the Alexa compatibility is really nice.

I have purchased Luman light bulbs, and they do work okay. The set up for them was extremely difficult, especially trying to set up two. The set up process could be simpler. PlusMinus though has been given me trouble though. Your supposed to have an account, and almost every time I want to use them I have to re-sign in, which gets very annoying. Also when signed out the Siri functions weren’t working, so it was in convenient. The apps layout is also not set up very well. Thus leaving out control capabilities of my lights. Over all it okay, but it could be a lot better.

The bulbs work great! and I didn’t have any problem connecting, unlike some other brands I tried. However, PlusMinus is a little rough around the edges. It would be really great to have an unlimited, or at least extended amount of slots in which to save colors. Another thing PlusMinus really needs is the ability to set different colors on several bulbs and save them into one instance, or stage. For example, I have two bulbs and I set one as pink and one blue. It would be awesome if I could save those settings with a name like “boogy time”. Then another light instance where one is yellow and one is orange and call it “cozy”, and then being able to switch effortlessly between the two instances. If those things were possible I would totally rate 5 stars.

Overall the lights work great. Setup instructions on the printed out user manual did not make sense. PlusMinus has more clear setup instructions but it needs to be even more clear. The user interface is very confusing and it took me forever to figure out how to create a group. I can’t delete default group. I try to re-order the devices in a room but when I leave the organizational structure setting, and go back to the main page, it shows the original display order of the devices.

These are fantastic and are great for all the different moods you might be in. You can change the mood of these lights almost as fast as a Gemini can change their moods.
They are really neat in many different ways. The only issue I have with these are, a couple at a certain time will start to dim in increments until they turn off. I haven’t figured out why and if it is even the program or something else on the phone or the Echo Dots that I use to control them.

When in a romantic mood, I put on the Valentine scene in the bedroom for romantic time with the wife and when I want to jam out, there is a party mood setting for that s as well.
I personally like to Yoga moods string when I want to chill and lower my blood pressure.
You can even easily design your own moods just the way you like.
Try these, I REALLY believe you will enjoy them!

I’ve owned two of these lightbulbs since the beginning of October which help illuminate our living room with Halloween type colors. We are currently enjoying them. We were also able to easily program our own program and set the colors to our favorite football team. It was pretty cool during game day on Sundays. We’ve only owned it for over a month but so far it seems to work in pretty good. The only real question is longevity.

So as I said in the title, this would and could definitely be a 5 star, but there is one problem with PlusMinus... setting the darn thing up. It’s very complicated and seems like for some people and won’t even work, the things difficult at first, I just simply stopped listening to the bad advice PlusMinus was giving and just looked at WiFi right away for the AP mode even without being on AP mode, worked. I just kept trying to connect until it brought me to the AP mode and it let me connect, everything after that was awesome. Definitely buying more from the ppl.

Before I bought these switches I read the reviews which were very negative. Said what the hell I’ll try them anyway. Very glad I did. Installed without any issues connected with my Alexa without any issues. So far have worked perfectly . I bought several of these switches and would recommend them without hesitation.

I have been using IOT control apps for years. Most commenters complain about the difficulty of restoring functionality when there is a power outage or router issue. That happens with all apps. I use an expensive mesh router with 5 bases. It is as automated as it currently gets, I still have to spend an hour updating connections in PlusMinus and the others when there is a power or router issue (even with a built in zigbee hub).

PlusMinus has one feature the others do not. You can target a devices power state as a trigger, use a time delay, then cycle that same device to another power state.

For instance I run a botany home lab space and I use PlusMinus only (because no other app allows this). I have numerous fans, Intake/exhaust, lights, humidifiers and dehumidifiers, heaters and lights / controllers. Everything is completely automated through PlusMinus, things turn on, wait a certain amount of time and turn off, then cycle again after a predetermined state, endlessly. Temperature affects humidity devices and vice versa. For power outage and router redundancy, I have certain devices turn on to trigger the cycle for everything once a day for a hard reset of the system.

It would be nice to have a power / router subroutine to allow for natural cycling of devices to the previous state after a communication failure.

We love these lights!!! We bought them because we didn’t want to get out of bed to turn off the lights at bedtime. It’s been a straight party in the bedrooms since we got these!! Can’t wait to buy more for other rooms in the house. Solid purchase. It took a minute to figure out PlusMinus , but we figure it out now. Sooooooo many options and things to play with 😎🌈🚦💡🚨💃🏻🕺🏻

I had to update my app and saw all the bad reviews for PlusMinus. I don’t know why people are having so much trouble with setting everything up. As long as you follow the instructions you will be fine. It’s not rocket science to screw in the bulbs, turn them off for ten seconds, then back on again for ten seconds. Once that is done, everything within PlusMinus isn’t that hard either. I have lights set up in different rooms and have them paired together. I can control them individually if I like too. It’s easy to set up fading colors and solid colors. I also have it set so that my lights turn on with my alarm in the morning to help wake me up. No reason to give PlusMinus a low review because you have the iq of a mosquito. Good app and product. 5/5 stars

I bought two luminan bulbs, and I have to say setup was easy. Like really simple. The bulbs themselves are awesome, I just followed the instructions and they were both connected in no time. Most of PlusMinus however is a different story. The wake up features in the scheduling part of PlusMinus work, however it is a little confusing to set them to your desired brightness. The adjustments on the bulb color and temperature are completely unusable most of the time. It just bugs out and won’t let me adjust anything. Overall a great idea. Needs work on execution.

I received two lightbulbs as a gift last Christmas and set the lights up without a hitch. The colors were awesome and having the Echo Dot control it was game changing. However, after Hurricane Isaias, our power went out for a few hours. Since then, I haven’t been able to connect it no matter what. I’ve reached the end of my wits. I hate it here. It wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t stuck on the most disgusting default blue light setting that makes everything look vaguely sickly.

If you are having trouble getting PlusMinus to connect to your wifi.. you need to make sure you share your location with PlusMinus (this is done in your phone settings) and then RESTART YOUR PHONE. After I got over this hiccup (by hiccup I mean hours of me resetting my wifi, changing dozens of settings on my phone and screaming obscenities while shaking my phone around), the rest of the setup was painless :)

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the lightbulbs I ordered al I wanted was for them to change color. That being said, PlusMinus and the product have exceeded my expectations. I haven’t had any real issues with neither and you have so many options for customizing your lights. PlusMinus is user friendly and super easy to use. Highly recommend it.

Love these lights! So pretty and the color is amazing. The lights are super easy to change with PlusMinus . Although I had to remove the lights twice from PlusMinus because it kept saying that they were offline. It’s kind of hard to make scenes because you don’t have that much control over what you do. Overall PlusMinus is great and so are the lights.

Not sure why all these people having such issues. The instruction manual is pretty easy to understand and every issue that people have been complaining about is non-existent as there are ways to do exactly everything they said they couldn’t. Not as good as HUE but works just fine.
