Microsoft Stream: Videos Reviews

Issue Definition:
(iPad and iPhone) When attempting to play/pause a video, video instead jumps to the playback area closes to the location pressed.

Customer Experience:
When I want to play or pause the video, I push on the play/pause button. But instead of playing or pausing, the video jumps to the playback position closest to where I selected. If I want to play/pause correctly, the workaround is to select BELOW the play/pause button.

Steps to Repro:
1. Select a video.
2. Select the Play/Pause button.

Expected Behavior:
Video either plays or pauses.

Actual Behavior:
Video playback jumps to the point closes to the position pressed.

Troubleshooting:
Either the video progress bar’s selectable area is too wide, or the play/pause button’s selectable area is too small or narrow.

This is happening on the iPad (7th Generation, Software Version 13.3) and the iPhone 11 Pro Max (Software Version 13.3.1) on the most recent update as of January 30, 2020.

I am attempting to use MicrosoftStream to watch my class lectures but it only has a bunch of disorganized videos from other classes that are not even my own an just a few of my actual class. The search option is terrible, before nothing came out, now still it does not give the results I ask just several random videos.

No work has been done to improve MicrosoftStream even now that everything is being switch online to Microsoft streams. It is only useful in an actual computer.

I see that someone submitted a review 2 years ago asking for MicrosoftStream to be improved. The review discussed the inability to see and or manage channels. The developer said they were working on it and 2 years later MicrosoftStream still lacks the option to see and or manage channels.

The 1 Star is for the developer NOT listening to the review and the issue going on for 2 years.

Terrible connectivity, cannot skip 30 seconds without pausing and freezing the videos. Laughable definition, and it gets even worse at times. My wi-fi isn’t the problem, all other apps work just fine, and many are way heavier than Stream. Needs urgent fix.

Why do some Teams recordings play video and audio on an iphone while others don’t? What settings drive iOS compatibility? Why will a recording play audio when i select “audio only” but when i try to play both video and audio the audio is silent!
Please work out these bugs!!!!

It seems like a amazing app! It’s just that I tried all my emails to sign in, it’s all right I don’t know why it’s not working... please improve it, and a suggestion is to don’t ask for the email yet and if we want a channel we put in our email but if we don’t want a channel we won’t put it in and instead we watch others content>! Ty

MicrosoftStream simply lacks various functions available on the web version, so it feels more like a supplementary app than a standalone. But even then, there are problems such as navigation bar not disappearing while in a full screen video, or lack of support for pip, etc... MicrosoftStream feels like half-baked.

Too many videos, I cannot download them, and I find a problem in watching a lot of videos because of a problem from you.

I would like to be able to see my channels and groups, instead of having one directory for all videos. Can we get this in a future release?

I love MicrosoftStream , but it works more for the end user, not the admin at the moment.

I use MicrosoftStream to watch lectures that i have missed at least i try to but when i start the video there is only sound with a black screen hope you'll be able to fix this problem asap

App seems to be nice but is light on features such as viewing Channels. Searching on a phrase or Name of a Video takes a very long time and results in network timeouts.

App looks great on my iphone 7. I can share videos easily on my Teams. The problem I have is viewing my recordings. When I play them on the iPhone Stream app, they look all BLACK. Only my voice is heard but a black background.

Hope this is fixed soon.

I don’t want my video made companywide. Why can’t I choose to upload and have it viewable in groups that I select like I can using a browser?

Would be great to have channel navigation in MicrosoftStream like the browser version has. Also would be great to remember your spot in a long video when you break it up across multiple listening sessions

It’s excellent but needs work. The two things I really want on MicrosoftStream is where sometimes I’ll have amazing connection to my wifi but the voice still glitches, also WHY IS THERE NO ZOOM IN BUTTON!!!!!! It really bugs me and I hope you can fix it pleae

MicrosoftStream is helpful. But it need a bit of improvement to make the experience perfect.
- The second for forward. Like 5 sec instead of 30 Sec. Or to choose the limit of second that we need.
- In watchlist we need the ability to add folders.

Having to upload videos on a daily basis I was ecstatic when the mobile app finally appeared and didn't have to log-in to O365 online and upload from iCloud.

However, Lately, EVERTIME I start the Stream app I get an “Ooops...” error from MicrosoftStream . This error won’t allow me to do ANYTHING in MicrosoftStream and it freezes.

I have deleted and reinstalled but the same thing happens.

Is this a known issue?

I love MicrosoftStream but right now it is useless!

Hey developers MicrosoftStream is really useful and awesome for studying but there is an issue with the videos that I download from ( teams ) every time I download a video to be able to see it on stream ( which is this application) it crashes and the download never works so I hope you can fix the issue and thank you for the hard work 👍

And yes I did have you 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️because every app you develop and create is the best than any app I can find interesting for studying and work and once again thank you for all the hard work you did all these years :)

I can’t upload anything unless I keep MicrosoftStream showing and my phone screen unlocked. I can’t even have MicrosoftStream open in the background. It bricks my phone. Why not upload in the background?

So I downloaded MicrosoftStream . I attempted to sign-up (but it led me to log in only) once I inputted my Acct. Email & then MicrosoftStream would not allow me to do a single thing more! Deleting MicrosoftStream...

The pause button interferes with the timeline, you can’t skip ahead 15 seconds or behind, the movement inside and outside MicrosoftStream causes issues, when an alarm sounds and you’re out of MicrosoftStream the video pauses, the overall navigation is redundant and not intuitive, the desktop experience makes you log in with your email every time you hit the homepage. This needs a fair amount of work.

Is there a way to allow users to view their subscribed channels in MicrosoftStream ? Seems like a big miss if the answer is no...After further reading, it seems this feature was due this summer? Any updates?

MicrosoftStream lacks basic features that are critical for managing content. I end up just using the website. Useless until they add more features.

If there is a way to upload a video in MicrosoftStream , it’s not obvious. That is one of the great features of Office 365 Video app. This still has a ways to go before it will replace O365 Video. :-(

What a great product to add to the many awesome MS products. The only thing preventing 5 stars is the inability to share a link to the video. Desktop version gets 5 stars though.
