I signed up for CarpeDM in February 2024, hoping for a premium dating experience. Unfortunately, after a year, I’ve only received 5 out of the 12 promised matches. For the high cost, I expected better transparency and delivery, but it quickly became clear that the male pool is not large enough to support the number of women subscribing. Instead of being upfront about this, they continue to take payments while failing to meet their own match minimums.
I requested a refund twice last year due to the lack of matches, but both times I was denied. Their solution? Extending my membership indefinitely until they can meet the required number of matches. However, of the 5 matches I did receive, only 3 were actual matches based on my preferences. It felt like they were just assigning men at random to fill quotas rather than providing quality connections.
To make matters worse, I was even told that men in their late 30s to early 40s in the DMV area don’t want to date a woman with a child. If that’s the case, why take my money knowing they couldn’t match me? This experience has been incredibly disappointing. While the concept has potential, the execution falls short due to their lack of a balanced database.
At this point, I feel trapped in a “death row” contract—paying for a service that hasn’t delivered what was promised. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend CarpeDM and would advise others to proceed with caution before committing.

Not only is the app very wonky; the service is a well. I am paid member and I have received 2 “matches” thus far. Both I could have easily found on me own. The kicker is, Carpe DM can show you a picture of someone and that is counted as a match. Now you may not want to meet that person and that person may not want to meet you. But it is still considered a match. Yes, you heard that right. As in my case, they presented a picture and a bio of a man that I had no interest in but said I would be a good sport and do a video call. He also felt that I would not be a good match so he didn’t want to do a video call. But he was still considered a “match”. So honestly, you could pay, they show you a bunch of pics and you never meet anyone and they will still have your money. Tell me how that is better than dating apps 🤷🏾♀️😂

This seems too good to be true because it is. They lure Black women in whether they service your region or not, obtain and keep your photos (even after account deletion request), and they try and hold your profile hostage until you pay a $99 deposit even when they’ve rejected your profile for being out of their region.
