STAELLA - Music Visualizer VJ Reviews

Look no further. Without a doubt this is the best music visualizer on the market for Apple devices. By unimaginable depths, no other comes close. I mainly use this for my iPad, it's library is vast and it's main purpose is dedicated to holding my music. Some people have a problem, because they want to use other streaming services. I use them, but whatever I listen to there (and like) at some point I download and upload to my iTunes library where I have it forever. Simple. Might be a bit of an effort for some people, but I enjoy music so it's nothing at all. At least I haven't forgotten the ability to download and upload music.
I wanted something beautiful to accompany the sounds I listen to and this is it. The visual packs are more than reasonable, especially with the shuffle function. Color customization is slightly limited, but you can get around that by playing with the mixture. Thanks so much for your awesome work!!!!!
P.s. if you ever add more packs I'll gladly purchase those too!

The visuals of STAELLA are quite cool. Of the half dozen visualizer apps I’ve tried on iOS this is my favorite so far. I generally use the microphone input and it works well in visualizing the mediocre music my band plays. The most recent update was a great improvement adding better customization and interesting new effects.

As for some features I think it needs, it would be nice if there was a way to save different configurations to quickly switch between different set ups as dialing it in can be a bit tedious. An info guide of some sort explaining the features would be helpful, there is a menu item called ‘never sleep’ that I have no idea what toggling it on does. The ability to use photos in the camera roll as back ground is nice. It’d be improved by the ability to use multiple photos and be able to set up a slide show. The ability to use videos would be awesome as well. Finally better control over shuffle time for the visuals would be appreciated.

Otherwise awesome app overall.

STAELLA is definitely a lifesaver for instagram and social media promotion for us artists but when I really want integrated is a download feature with quality settings. i’m not really a huge fan of recording it because it REALLY derails the quality of my music via playback. If you can make a way for us to download our projects and keep the quality of the project with options up to 4k HD then i’ll see this through as a 5 star app. its great and it does the job but it’s the little things i look for as music producer and graphic designer. and speaking of graphics if you can make a way to adjust the intensity of the over bearing particles and all that weird SFX’s then i can really see promise! honestly i just want to see more customization. it’s 2020 i truly feel this shouldn’t be hard at all.

There is a disturbing lack of music visualizer apps for iPad, for reasons I don’t understand. I would love to listen to my music library and have some pretty things going on while I am working on the next screen over. The immediate problem with STAELLA is that it only was able to access a handful of songs in my vast library. More than that though, I wish that the visualizations would react to music playing from my Music app, or whatever else is playing in the background. If you could make that happen, I would happily pay for the other visualizations. I want this to work so badly!

UPDATED: the “Dummy” mode is better than nothing and the microphone input works when I’m at home. I know it isn’t the developer’s fault. Updating to 5 stars for doing what it is able to do beautifully.

This is definitely a good music visualizer, but it is lacking a couple slots. Otherwise it’s good. I’ve debated buying the pro, but if I make a purchase like that I’d expect to get everything that is available as an “add-on”. If it meant Pro would be a little higher price, (as long as it’s justifiable, and not outrageous), then it’d be totally worth it. But to have to pay the $4-$5 for Pro, PLUS an additional $4 for each visual package is a bit steep. Especially when there’s no AirPlay/AppleTV support for it.

I downloaded a different visualizer for a couple buck and am able to stream no problem, so it can be done. Really hoping STAELLA follows suit.

Very cool visualizer that synchs to music, with the ability to record the video as you tweak it real time, which is nice. The style is very much similar overall, so make sure you like it before diving in. A couple of big problems though, the first being that you cannot sync record start to the start of a track, so you always come in too early or too late when trying to record a video. Second, and this is major, I have to keep deleting and reinstalling STAELLA in able to be able to use it. I will open it once, put in a track or two, work for a while, no problem. If I close it once, the next time I open it, everything in it is unresponsive, can’t play music, video doesn’t play, nothing. This is in iOS 13.7.

Why is it so hard to import music files to Stella I love the visuals but honestly it is really hard to move your music files especially if you’re like me and make music on a phone could you make importing music more like spectraAnd I get that most people would agree that STAELLA is great so do I but it is very hard to put your music files in
And I have another problem to dummy is the only way that I can see my visuals but not really because the music does not sync so if there was a way to make this happen this would be great also when I try to purchase Stella Pro it will not let me. I’m sure that making STAELLA is very expensive so all I’m asking for is two changes if you make them great if you don’t make them that’s fine there’s other apps.

Absolutely gorgeous visualizer! I have no doubt this is the best available on STAELLA Store and Ive never spent $8 in an app so quickly. Make more and I’ll keep buying without a doubt! Looks so amazing on my huge 12.9” iPad Pro!

Only criticism I could say isn’t really the developers fault. I wish it could just use whatever was currently playing on the device, but I know this type of thing isn’t possible with iOS currently. But I still wish I could seamlessly switch between apps and still record my play counts.

One suggestion... please make the album art for a song as an option as a background image! You already background feature built in :) That would be amazing. Also, if there were more options for the display of the song title that would be cool. I love the large title, but most of the visualizers have the action in the center. Maybe an option for large title on top or on bottom?

Keep up the fantastic work! I hope STAELLA keeps being expanded upon. I don’t remember the last time I was so excited for any app lol

I would love to see a full screen playback of a complete song without the ads for your other programs. I paid for STAELLA. If you want me to spend more money on this you will need to stop inserting the ads and let me see the ‘new’ visuals for the full length of a song.

2nd review:
Finally got to see it as it should be viewed. Nice, but not as good as SoundSpectrum on Windows Media Player or iTunes on laptops or computers. The flow from one visual to the next is not ‘fluid’. It seems to be too jerky and quirky for visualization of music. I like that song titles and artists are displayed continually as the visualizations are changed. The visualizations seem ‘static’ as there are too few concepts for album or playlists. Too much repetitive visuals for playlists or album length music.

Great visuals and potential, but unusable in it's current form. Each single move you will make in STAELLA will stutter and stall repeatedly. An excercise in futility. Been messing with this on three devices over the past year and its only become worse. iPhone 11 / iPad Pro 12.9 inch, and others: controls, timing and interface are pure garbage:
-visual effects cant keep up with realtime control
-record button RESETS playback, now wait 30 seconds or more for your song to kick back in. Peace out to all my hard drive space and also BONUS for making us have to delete countless useless pre-roll times...
-effects can only be applied in real time, but STAELLA cant keep up with itself, so much lag time.
-loading songs is archaic (have to copy to folders in background, close app reload, rinse/repeat)

If you wanted to make us feel like this is 1998 and nothing works very well on connected applications: mission accomplished. We will be sending you a request for all the money we spent on pretty efx packs that are unusable due to the horrible coding and functionality of STAELLA. So sad this could have been something, and we're SUPER UNHAPPY ABOUT ALL OF OUR TIME YOU WASTED. Our time is money, are you also going to refund that? PLEASE GET SOME REAL CODERS.

This makes it really easy to make quick cover art, and also incredible visuals. I bought all of the in app purchases. I don’t regret it at all. I would like to be able to add Gifs though, as I would like for peoples music to be able to set a mood with 30 second gif support at least. Not extremely worried about not having this feature as STAELLA makes up for it with many ways to customize and makes it completely unique. Another feature I think would be nice is to layer 2 imported images over each other, or be able to crop them in app.

STAELLA is already proving it is a good value and I love using the pro features on my iPad Pro it’s incredibly immersive.

I have just a couple of beefs with the GUI the sfx knobs are impossible to maneuver in real-time. I turn the knob one direction and sometimes it goes my way and then sometimes the opposite.

If the developers could figure this bug out this would be a game changer. Thank you for taking the time to put together a really great app, reminiscent of electric sheep but I love the control and variety

Ok, so I’ve been looking for music vizualizers for iPad and iPhone right. And I found this one it looks amazing! Except for one problem… you have to use files or iTunes wich I use neither of them. And I’ve been looking for one that I can just take a video from my camera roll, but you can’t in this… which really makes me upset because I can’t use the vizualizer! So if your reading this, could you guys make it where we can just take a video out of your camera roll and import it? Anyway thank you guys! I would give it a 5 star if I didn’t have this problem… and I promise I’m not the only one with this problem.

I’m loving this visualizer! The recent update added some great editing features, so you can now edit the background animations! The only downsides are if you screen record the menu doesn’t disappear fast enough to slice it out after screen recording with the start of the song...adding a few seconds of silence takes care of that. Also, text editing and font selection would elevate STAELLA to an untouchable level! Overall, the developers created a really cool app! I highly recommend!

This is obviously the best Music visualizer for IPhones. Although there can be improvements, it is so amazing. I would take a couple thousand words saying how amazing this is. So I am not going to say all the amazing stuff, just the things I think need to be added.

1. New visualizers-I think there should me a circler shaped spectrum that is double sided and doesn’t spin

2. New Effect-it would have air particles coming from the center and they would speed up as the bass gets lower

3. New Names-this would be a thing that in the center were people could have their name or logo. They should be able to Change their color and font.

4. Video-the background currently does not allow you to have a video in the background which can be disappointing at times

5.The new update for iOS 13.0 has messed up the recording function

So far I’ve been really enjoying STAELLA with the additional in-app purchases. The visuals are dynamic, responsive to the music, and you can spend a good amount of time getting lost in the music and visuals together.

I did have to reinstall it on my iPad initially as I could not get the iTunes Library files to show up. Was fine after the reinstall.

I would love to see the ability to play short video clips in the background if using this on the iPad Pro v2 or whatever hardware would support that option.

I’m also hoping the developer will put in the option to fade photos on and off instead of them just appearing when you select one. Then you could time them to the various sections of the music.

Overall, worth the price and a lot of fun.

STAELLA is actually pretty good! From all the other apps that I have seen, STAELLA is one of the only one that gave me good quality! Of course you well only use one package that the company well give you and of course if you want more then you buy the other packages...but there epic Music at the being at app is amazing! I’am not sure if it’s actual artist who made it or if STAELLA company made it, but what ever is the case, it’s amazing and I love it!

You can edit and do all these things to your video. A visualizer that I’ve actually be looking for. The catcher is they want you to pay for there really cool effects. And it’s not even the pro version. BIGGEST THING— you can’t download this video after you make it. How are you supposed to use it?? Screen recording is difficult and just not good for overall quality. Kind of upset I just spent all this time and money on a video I can’t even save or use for myself.

My goal was to find an app that would make beautiful visuals for my music, and allow me to video record it all. this app accomplishes this.

For the developer:
Please make it so the options (such as text adjustment) don’t block the video. Also, the video should be full screen. Currently the advertisement for an add-on pack takes up half the screen, which is really unnecessary.

A few things come into mind when writing this review. First and foremost, STAELLA is AMAZING. Visualizers on point and you can even interact to make them a little more exciting (360 mode).
I have purchased the pro package and is great and all, only thing I am not fond of is that you don’t get ALL add-ons featured, which is kinda bs since they’re advertising the pack as “pro”. The screen recorder is a must have but my only problem with that is whenever I do the screen recorder, the visual settings intensify and the entire app bugs out and crashes. Please FIX THIS.

Good app, but desperately needs to have streaming services integrated into the available music catalog. Using the Dummy function to play songs off of Apple Music/Spotify/TIDAL only seems to work if you’re willing to finagle the visualizer settings to make it properly match the music, but that is honestly far more trouble than it’s worth. Simple streaming service integration would easily make this a 5-star app and well worth buying the in-app purchases.

Aaaaah the good ol days when winamp was popular and visualizers were robust and flexible. Although STAELLA does very good ar coming close to winamps effects (but not quite), it is missing support for apple music and requires music to be in your purchased library. I addition, you cant close STAELLA while playing, it stops the music, which is highly annoying. All that said, they did a great job putting this together, which is why i gave it 4 stars.

Love the visuals. But STAELLA inconsistently loads itune playlists. Sometimes it loads only a few songs, sometimes zero songs, and other times it has a slow load between songs as if it’s trying to connect to the web each time. Most issues when trying to play Apple Music subscription downloads.

I love this apps features and basically everything since there’s no Subscription, and easy to use features and absolutely fantastic for Publishing Music. It’s great for what it is, and it’s definitely one of the best. The only thing, is that I think the actual Visualizer that goes along to the beat should be bigger for heavier genres to really emphasize on the bass. Other than that it’s Fantastic!

If you don’t plan to buy the upgrades, don’t download STAELLA. The free version isn’t worth it.

The visuals are okay but I am disappointed in the low resolution graphics. Video recording works fine but the quality isn’t great. There is no option for 1080p as far as I can tell, and I can’t find the option to export with a 16:9 aspect ratio. That makes the video export function nearly useless.

It looks like STAELLA is still supported. It’s almost good, I hope they address the quality issues.

I guess I was unclear- I purchased the this app app, I am reviewing the pro version. I still don’t understand how to export a 1080p video or a video with a 16:9 aspect ratio, these are standard video settings. Are you saying the graphics quality and video export settings are dependent on the model of iPad I am using?
