First off I signed up and have had almost no request. Seems odd since a competing app sends us one to two customer request per day per boat. Second the two, count it two requests all summer that have come through here wanted us to modify the trip and unfortunately you can’t modify it. They have to pick either all day or hourly and since It was an all day booking (7hours) I was unable to modify it to multi day with an hourly overage fee. Like all the other apps. I haven’t been impressed with Boatsetter and honestly haven’t seen any value in it. Find their competition not as pretty if an app but way more functional and 50-1 on customers inquiries.

We’ve been having trouble with BoatsetterOwnerApp and missing out on bookings. We’ve called several times about this. So far things have been okay, however, we find it odd that on got, sunny days we do not get bookings. We’ve checked to make sure the days are available and they are because at times the schedules would be altered. As of now we’re good and monitoring BoatsetterOwnerApp more frequently.

As most people probably do- I have a boat on the water that just sits there most of the time- it’s great to get some use out of it and make a little side money!!! Very easy app to use and the people that have rented from me have been awesome!!!

The features that come with BoatsetterOwnerApp truly make it simple to organize business. Very similar to how it’s set up on the website. I recommend every owner to have this!

Do not list your boat with them, they will send you to an arbitration page to resolve your claim and you will end up paying your repairs. It happen to us. They are
A nightmare to deal with. Do not list your boat with them. It’s a rip off, they charge for insurance, listing fee and the damage made from the renter I had To pay it out my pocket. Good luck if you got someone on the claims to speak to you. Get a better company they are the worst.

Hard to communicate with guest prior to a confirmation of the charter to discuss details. Also, my private insurance requires a waiver through Smart Waiver be completed. There is not a way to provide a link and confirmation of completion of this within your app, it must be completed separately with client. This is awkward, and extra work for Captain handling charter.

Just listed our boat and the process was very easy and stress free. The support team is amazing, very responsive and always ready to help. This is an excellent team!

Boat owner offer their private vessels on BoatsetterOwnerApp only to experience exorbitant fees placed on each boat rental rendering little better earnings for the boat owner.

Boatsetter needs to structure their rentals as a cost plus fees whereby boat owners can rely on each rental transactions as reliable income. The boat insurance provided by Boatsetter is extremely expensive making the average rental cost prohibitive. One day boat insurance for a rental can exceed $200/day…… absolutely ridiculous.

Until Boatsetter restructures these rates and fees, my boat has been placed on “hold”.

Not many vessels to choose from on BoatsetterOwnerApp as a result of their efforts to curb these fees and insurance costs.

I love that I can make money off my boat and bring in some side revenue. Lots of support to help owners and BoatsetterOwnerApp makes it so easy to manage everything

The updated app is sooo much better and faster than the last one. Definitely an upgrade!

App was great before but much better interface and improvements. Makes it that much easier to rent my boats!

I am giving this a one star more so for the facts they use Geico as insurance. They are terrible the agent i got to file a claim never calls back, I can’t get a hold of any one. And boat setter is email only so they have “documentation”.

They only respond 1 time a day, I have been trying to deal with this insurance claim for a month and have got no where

Super user friendly app. Got me out on the water in no time!

The new app is so much better! Much sleeker and faster. Really helps me manage my bookings and boats on the go.

I love how easy it is to use it from my cell or iPad

Website works well but uploading boat photos took a handful of attempts. Messages often don’t go through and i have to check in and check out the boat multiple times for it to work

BoatsetterOwnerApp is almost completely useless. I won’t even recommend downloading it. If you are a boat owner, it is just easier to call support and have them check in and out renters. The list of errors and bugs with BoatsetterOwnerApp is longer than the list of its functions. The developer even managed to put the decimal place in the wrong spot for a report of how much you’ve earned!!! Hahahah—if you earn $500 it is listed as $5.00. I’m not familiar with the company that developed BoatsetterOwnerApp but they are clearly out of their league.

BoatsetterOwnerApp doesn’t allow you to check a renter back in—but that doesn’t stop it from sending you push notifications every hour to remind you (kind of like a passive aggressive little reminder of how bad BoatsetterOwnerApp is). Other issues include constant “blimey” errors every few minutes. It errors out when trying to upload photos (you have to use the website to do this). There are a ton of typos. The list goes on and on.

The latest updates fix any issues there were and make this just a very useful and helpful app for boatowners!

App constantly crashes when you hit Boats tab.

My reco you use the boatsetter website until they work out the bugs. Just a few: messaging function crashes on many non-alpha characters, Pre-approvals don’t go through and no reason given, price not syncing with website account.

Recommend using the website. Not saying their website is perfect because it has lots of problems but BoatsetterOwnerApp is frustrating and horribly designed. It constantly crashes and gives error messages. Shows requests as if they are bookings. Not designed well at all.

I’m a boat owner and in theory BoatsetterOwnerApp serves to complete pre and post rental inspections. Neither work. What’s worse is my phone beeps all night reminding me to end the rental which of course is impossible given the bugs in BoatsetterOwnerApp . Lots of other problems too in trying to perform basic functions. Is there any sense of urgency to address this?

I thought BoatsetterOwnerApp would help me find a boat to rent so I was disappointed when it didn’t. I went back to read the description and it’s for boat owners to rent/manage their customers. It wld be nice if BoatsetterOwnerApp helped those looking to rent.

I’m a boat owner and use the website, which is great. BoatsetterOwnerApp however has issues especially with the notifications which will not stop even after you take action.

Unable to successfully make trips active and also end trips. App needs some work to function properly.
