I downloaded Artrooms two months ago and I was using the limited free options to look at some of my artwork. I have not sold anything yet. I am not some big artist. It was nice to have the option to see how the art would look in a few rooms. I just tried to use Artrooms again and it will not let me upload a photo into Artrooms unless I pay a subscription fee. The old ones I already uploaded are still in there and can be seen in rooms. I just finished a new painting and wanted to take a look. I can’t even see it with the watermark. I can’t see it period. I was planning to pay for it when it made sense to have more options but I will not be forced into paying for it now. 😫
I must be missing something as I try to give Artrooms a test drive. I import a bunch of images and Artrooms wants me to provide sizing for each one and a name for each one. Really? Given one dimension, Artrooms could easily calculate the second dimension —just like similar apps in the store.
Second, I add the required invite and tap the Done button and now expect to see my selection on a wall. Nope. I see a subscription demand. No preview unless I first pay $4 US as a starter fee. And there’s no way around this. Forget watermarks, because Artrooms just wants cash for you to walk into its store and browse what it offers. Ridiculous.
Sorry. Not happening. I’ll stick with my current “art in situ” app. It seems smarter.
I liked Artrooms right away. But I started having some technical difficulties when I would save the just finalized version of a painting on a wall in a room and I would send those off let’s say to my clients and then my client would send me back a text that had a question? Turns out there is some sort of issue that happens when saving the superimposed final photo, the painting suddenly jumps up In size and then if you don’t see the thumbnail details, your clients get a corrupted file. .
Given how much I’m paying for Artrooms every month, I would expect it to be more stable. For starters, the dimensions often seem off so I have to rescale my art and just eyeball how large I think it should be in relation to the room. Second, most of the rooms are better suited for large scale art, it would be nice to have some smaller spaces, or table top options for smaller pieces. Lastly, to compensate for the lack of smaller spaces, I am trying to upload some stock art I purchased. It typically only works once before it won’t let me bring in additional photos. The screen locks up, I can’t enter any artwork specs, and now it won’t even see my photos. Restarting Artrooms isn’t working, nor is restarting my phone. I’m sure if I wait a bit, or try again tomorrow, it will work for a while. Frustrating.
App is perfectly fine for doing the one trick it can do, but expensive considering it’s lacking two obvious features: 1) Include a framing studio option, as there are only a couple built-in choices that are attractive. 2) Include a snap-to grid for easier layout of multiple images. It’s a pain to even get two images to be properly spaced and aligned, pixel-wise, by eyeballing it. Also, not a missing feature, but something to eliminate: the manual input of dimensions. It’s a waste of time, since you’re going to have to end up hand-resizing and placing it anyway. Just open image at optimal size and let the user do the rest.
Artrooms saves my time from making own room views. Its very easy to use but Artrooms gets closed automatically while working sometimes.
I wish they had more dark and large modern walls.
Also there is no gold floating frame option. Thanks for Artrooms. I have some pros and cons which I felt would be useful to improve Artrooms from user side.
Pros:
-Very easy to use.
-Has many different rooms
-Easy to change art size
-There are many options for frames
-You can rotate the artwork and shadows
-You can import your own rooms as well
Cons:
-Little expensive.
-Application hangs in between.
-Less trendy and not much large walls especially black/ dark color walls.
-Cannot put artwork behind the chair or sofa.
-While rotating the artwork you will need to rotate shadow manually.
The main thing you get for your money is access to well designed room images. They are excellent if you have large pieces (at least 16x20). If you have smaller pieces, they will look lost in many of the spaces.
My biggest complaint is that they advertised $3.99 for first mo, then $7.99 per mo after, but I was charged $7.99 right off the bat. I contacted support through their web page. It's been 24 hours. No response.
Here's what Artrooms could do better:
- more frame & matte options. How about some ornate frames? Floater frames? High quality frames?
- Allow me to filter through the rooms by space (bedroom, kitchen, etc)
- Allow me to reduce the lighting on my painting so it matches the lighting in the room rather than standing out like a glowing sore thumb
- allow me to stage multiple pics in the room together - as a set, for instance.
- When I re-size a painting, show me what the new measurements are in the room.
- More consistency in the size scaling. There were rooms in which it made my painting look a lot bigger or smaller than other rooms. I didn't trust the scaling.
- Tone down the bright white to match the white or lightest neutral in the room images so they don't look fake.
After communicating some concerns with the developer and receiving excellent customer service, I decided to revise my review from 2 stars to 4.
I’m a paid subscriber and understand these apps need user feedback to improve.
Artrooms itself has been very easy to use. I appreciate the simplicity of choosing the art rooms, frames and sizing. The photos look very professional and clear and it saves a ton of time from crafting content from scratch!
My concern was the expansion of the library as the user rate grows.
I believe the developer is making an effort to keep the art room library expanding, as subscriptions increase. That’s important!
If you’re using it to sell your art, the subscription is a nominal investment considering the features and convenience! The developers customer service is very prompt and helpful. Based on my recent experience I’d give it 4.5 stars.
this app is a wonderful easy to use app that allows me as a visual artist to show off my artwork in a good-looking contemporary setting. There are many stylish designer room choices and new rooms are constantly being added. The photos are very professional and clear. People have commented and my work really gets noticed on Social Media when using Artrooms. It is a great marketing tool and well worth the money. I highly recommend the this app app!
I received notice of a subscription for Art rooms, which I did not request. It is not showing up in my Apple subscriptions list either. Please cancel my subscription and refund the $7.99. I didn’t subscribe, nor do I have a use for Artrooms . I tried contacting through the link via Artrooms but it isn’t working and would not send. Please help!
I just discovered this great app and am thoroughly impressed and amazed with it! The idea is brilliant; so far I am finding it to be very user friendly and no glitches or problems. As a visual artist, Artrooms allows me to transport my work out of my not-so photogenic studio and virtually hang my work in the spaces of my dreams...modern homes with clean lines and nice furniture! I can see what my work would look like framed and enlarged or how a group of paintings would interact on a large wall...which I don’t have access to in my physical space. It’s like playing virtual paper dolls...but with artwork. SO very cool.
I look forward to exploring it more each day.
I needed to hang several pieces of art in my home and I didn't know where or in what order to put them. this app app was very helpful and user friendly. I uploaded a picture of my wall, the pieces of art, and I was able to play around with several hanging options. Artrooms helped me figure out where the most suitable and aesthetically pleasing spot was to place them, without having to waste time or put several holes in my wall. Thank you!
Artrooms is great because you can visualize what your artwork is actually going to look like in a space and it is so realistic! this app has allowed people to imagine what my work will look like once they have purchased it because it helps you understand the sizes and proportions of my artwork. Whenever I post on Instagram using Artrooms, I always get so many likes and comments!!! Thank you this app! ♥️🙏💥
I love this app app, there’s plenty of rooms to choose from, different sizes, styles, and colors I always find the perfect space for my art to give a touch of sophistication for the client to envision it in their own space.
Best part, it is extremely easy to use and they are always updating the rooms without taking any of the existing spaces out.
Totally recommend!
If an app doesn’t solve a problem, it has no value. But Artrooms has clearly carved out a nice niche with its ease of use and incredibly beautiful rooms to show off paintings. They even have a Pantone wall for perfect match if you need it. Not to mention, it is affordable as a powerful marketing tool and makes my instagram feed look quite professional. I’ve been waiting for a product like this and wholeheartedly recommend to artists, designers and anyone who can take a photo of a piece of art.
I love Artrooms! It’s easy to use and allows you to showcase your art in a variety of rooms. I’ve received many comments from others regarding how great my paintings look in the different settings. There are many rooms to choose from when you’re looking for the perfect wall for your painting, and they are frequently adding more. Great app!
Love Artrooms! Easy to use, with a nice selection of rooms. I appreciate the fact that you can add multiple paintings to a setting and play around with the framing options. There is also a drop shadow feature that gives your work an even more realistic and believable view, great for potential collectors to see. I can’t wait to see what new rooms this app comes up with next!
I’ve been using the this app app for a couple of years now and I love the ease of Artrooms and the ability to see how my art will look in a room and showing those pieces to a potential client can make all the difference. Lots of rooms to choose from and something for any room in the house for any style of art.
The best investment in growing my business was downloading Artrooms. It’s so super easy and I do at least three displays with each of my pieces to show the size in comparison to the wall, different decor and different wall shades give life to my pieces!
I get so excited when I see new rooms added. I’m like a kid at Christmas! The more the better!
Don’t bother with the other apps. This is by far, the easiest and most affordable one out there!
I love how the artroomsapp levels the playing field for independent artists to compete with galleries. Artrooms could also be used to show a gallery or agent how well our work looks in a particular space. Artrooms helps us educate collectors and interior designers on how our work can complement a certain aesthetic or how our artwork can serve as the dramatic focal point in an interior.
