I signed up for Pei a few weeks ago; I linked cards and everything seemed to be working fine the first couple of days until I received a notification to verify my email address. That’s when I noticed I had a typo in my email address, and the nightmare began.

Changing my email in app was quite an arduous process that I’ll spare the details; when all was said and done, my cards had been unlinked from my account (not of my doing) and any tap within Pei brought up an ‘unknown error’ screen making Pei unuseable. this app’s chat tech support advised me to file a ticket. I did so, detailing every step I took to change my email, and provided a screenshot of the error message.

After 10 days of no response, I followed up the ticket with a short email advising of status. A few days later, this app staff sent an email stating that the ticket was automatically closed since no account exists. I replied if they even reviewed my case, sharing both the incorrect and correct email addresses. this app replied back immediately that this response was ignored since it was to a closed ticket, and I’d need to create another ticket.

On a whim, I attempted to sign up again via the website since ‘no account exists’ but could not because my account does indeed exist. So here I am, effectively with no one able to help resolve my situation. Hope you all never have to contact this app to change any account info ever.

I have had Pei for a long time and even managed to cash out once when they first launched it and cash out limit was a lot smaller than it is now. If by chance u change your phone number they will not update your new number and will not allow u to cash out unless u can access the old number. It took me almost a year to even get close to cashing out and I changed my phone service and have a new number and this app will not update it and now I’ve wasted a year because I can’t withdraw the money. Also when you put your bank info on it will say it deletes it when u click delete but go back and check it’s still there. Pei is not trustworthy. I honestly can’t believe the rating it has. Apparently a lot of people haven’t made it to cash out yet. Customer service if they do return an email are the rudest bunch I’ve ever dealt with. Please heave my warning stay clear of Pei

Everything was great for a week until I woke up one morning and said my bank account needed to be re-authenticated and suddenly it stopped working. I wouldn’t recommend Pei I emailed support and still haven’t gotten a respond after two weeks. I tried to re-link my card and it won’t work and I have to change password everytime I do so because I get locked out. You can’t withdraw until you have $15 in your account in total. I have a feeling they just use your purchase data from bank transactions and also your GPS location which must be turned on at all times for Pei to work. Would not recommend Pei it’s a waste of time and I still can’t withdraw my points because I don’t have enough to do so.

I initially enjoyed Pei as it’s way of accruing rewards through shopping. It was seamless and fun but unfortunately, I was soon disappointed.

Absolutely horrendous customer service. I had a issue where I had to switch service providers and unfortunately could not transfer my number. When I reached out to see if I could change my number I was met with a snarky remark with a link to articles about 2fac Auths that I’m already well aware of. So now I’m unable to cash-out my hard-earned money because your ExCuSe is 2 FaC AuThS when we already know that there are workarounds (AS YOUR CASH-BACK COMPETITOR HAS ALREADY BEEN HELPFUL WITH) In the future, consider helping your patrons as we are the contributing factor to the success of your app.

This used to be a lovely app, but as soon as I reach the minimum I’m gonna be done with it as they just keep making it worse for the customer. Here’s my points.

1. Referral bonus is 2.50, used to be 15, then 10, then 5, and the way it’s heading they’re probably gonna get rid of it.

2. 5X loyalty and cashback percentages. You used to be able to get 50 cents for the loyalty bonus, now you’ll be lucky to get 2 cents. That’s ridiculous. And there were places offering $2 for 20 spent and higher cashback but now they got rid of the $2 for 20 and most places offer up to 1.5 percent if it’s unknown. Mainly get 1 to 1.2 percent at most places. Used to have 20%, 5%, 10%, but now those seem to be online things no one wants.

3. The biggest issue for me is the cash out requirements. Used to be $15 dollars, which took quite a while to get too especially because they’re points stay pending for a good while, but now while decreasing every way you can earn points, they raised the minimum to $25 dollars. I’m betting they’re hoping most people just forget about this and leave they’re stuff connected so they can continue earning the same amount while paying less.

Overall, once I reach the new high minimum cash out, I will be disconnected my cards and personally email them to delete my account so they won’t profit off me anymore. Thank you for reading this review.

Pei is great when it works but it constantly asks you to reconnect your bank accounts and doesn’t always reward your points so you have to manually contact support for the payments. It’s also a pain adding cards or removing cards that your bank no longer has active. The worst thing about Pei is that if you have let’s say 100k sats equaling 100 bucks (just an example), if btc moves up then you still only get 100 bucks and your sat count moves lower. If btc goes down then your 100 bucks will go down to 90 or whatever and your sats will stay the same. Essentially any price movement from btc will eat your points away unlike Fold which keeps your satoshis constant and your dollar varies with btc. this app please stop taking peoples satoshis away whenever btc moves up or down...

The points truly add up, since I signed up for Pei back in May, I’ve earned over $75, however, I do have some slight grievances.
1) bring back the 50 point 5x loyalty bonus. The bonus we have right now makes absolutely no sense, and it’s pretty annoying to get 1-2 points every time.
2) I wish there was a higher referral bonus. $2.50 is kind of low, especially when some users experience a cap on referrals.
3) I wish there was a way to link my cash app card as well
Overall though, this is my favorite rewards app. This is a “set it and forget it” type app, so you earn points without even trying. It is similar to earning points for cash back with a credit card company, and you’ll rack up money in no time

Pei is pretty cool! I love anything that allows me to earn Bitcoin especially when it’s on everyday purchases. Good clean intuitive interface but a few things I’d like to see changed. Firstly as a more privacy focused individual I don’t allow any apps to always use my location and I find toggling location on and off as needed to be a chore so usually just leave it off. I’d love to see a toggle on/off switch within Pei itself and not thru the phone settings. Secondly for the cash back to be automatic. Instead of “cashing out” with Bitcoin as an option I’d like each cashback be credited per transaction in Bitcoin at current market value (kinda like Lolli)

Wish there were a way to track the 5X Loyalty Bonus per merchant. Seems like an obvious thing to implement when the Loyalty Bonus was introduced and I can’t believe this oversight! The concept is quite simple.... when a merchant appears in the list of recent cash backs, simply show a progress bar, progress circle or counter indicating how far away the next 5X Loyalty Bonus is. This would definitely encourage and bait (in a positive way) a user to revisit a merchant and spend again if they were close to their next 5X Bonus. It’s simple this app, make us spend more and get rewarded more. You, this app, will also get more too.

I’ve always been intrigued by the concept of cash back but they all come with a catch, like signing up for a new credit card. And then when you do you can only get cash back with that card. this app has changed all that by giving you the option to link all your cards into one account and allow you to get cash back through any of them. And for only being live for a couple of months, they already gave us so many vendors this app eligible. I go to chipotle and Starbucks a lot so I’m constantly building up my this app cash account by going there. Pei was very well prepared and if you aren’t using this app yet there’s no reason not to.

I’ve used a few of these rewards style apps before but none of them compare to this app. Most will reward you with a few points here and there with sporadic rewards on limited time offerings, but this app is consistently rewarding you at the same places. They even bonus reward you for going to the same place 5 times.

And their customer service is fantastic. Any issue I’ve ever had has been resolved almost immediately and apologetically. I’ve never had a poor customer service experience.

I constantly recommend this app to people I know and they end up falling in love also. Keep up the good work, this app!

I was relatively new to the cash back scene before my friend turned me onto it. I tried out other apps but honestly never really saw the point since I only use my debit card on most purchases. I saw Pei on a reddit post and had to give it a shot. Great job!

This has completely gotten rid of the need for many store credit cards (especially target). Very easy set up. Just add a card and get to spending.

Great app. The only thing I would add is more functionality to the map. Adding segments to local offers would do wonders! Insane potential with Pei.

I’m a penny pincher. I use all the cash-back apps, coupons, ebates programs, etc. This one takes the cake. Just log into your institutions with your user and pass, and then forget all about it. Runs completely in the background, no manual selection of “I’m at this place so give me my reward.” I received >$200 in the first two months. I typically accrue that on my credit cards after A YEAR! Even takes my TargetRED card! Very easy to withdraw to PayPal or BTC wallet. Happens instantly. Can not recommend enough. If you’re not using this app, you’re losing free money.

Gave 5 stars in hopes to get this to the top to be noticed.
But you use to be able to cash out at $15 now it’s $25. They took away a lot of the good deals like $2 back on $20 at McDonald’s which was easy for me having a big family. My account always seems to need to be reconnected which is frustrating. I went a whole month having to put my info in daily and filing a missing transaction. As soon as I hit $15 I was going to cash out and delete Pei and of course it’s now been raised to $25.

Awesome app, super easy to use. Linked my cards in no time, and got quick access to tons of cashback locations in my area. I’ve earned almost $30 now just from going to my regular places like Target and Trader Joe’s, and have tried some new local restaurants I never would have tried otherwise as well. I love that they have way more locations and local spots than other apps like Dosh and Spent. Team has been super responsive too whenever I’ve reached out. Highly recommend!
