You might hold more than one card of the same brand. For example, I have two AMEX cards: one Hilton and one Platinum. However many AMEX offers can only be activated on one card. So if this app activates the offer on AMEX Hilton, you will not be able to activate and use the offer on AMEX Platinum. I called AMEX and they confirmed this. I was forced to use the HBO offer on the Hilton card because AMEX was unable to switch the Platinum card once it had been activated on the Hilton card. I had to delete my account to make sure this doesn’t happen again. This problem is a huge oversight on the part of the developers in my opinion.

Well this is unfortunate. I have heard a lot of great things about MaxRewards, and while I’m sure it is a great concept apparently I will never get to enjoy it. I have attempted several times to connect my bank account and MaxRewards has failed to do so every time. This is extremely frustrating. I contacted my bank support and was told that the issue was with MaxRewards , so I preceded to contact support for the Max Rewards app and have yet to get a response. I was really looking forward to using MaxRewards after being referred by the credit shifu online, but now I have nothing but frustration for MaxRewards as I have had a terrible experience.

0/5 stars if i could've given you that rating. trash selling methods and definitely start-up/corporate scamming. Major reasons for concern:
1. you have to submit your bank account information before you can even see what’s on MaxRewards and how it can benefit you. Absolutely unacceptable and absolutely predatory. do you plan on ever demonstrating your proof of concept to customers? clearly, absolutely not.
2. you have to pay a subscription fee, which seems dumb for a company thats supposed to be sending you opportunities to save money.
3. they do not provide instructions on how to delete your account without you fully creating an account and providing your banking details. its been 3 weeks since i emailed them about deleting the account and they have not followed up.
i do not trust MaxRewards because its clear that they are making you pay for them to collect your financial and transactional data to sell it at a higher price, and they obviously are trying to scam you into paying for their service. they also don't respond when you email them so they likely just keep your information on file.

On June 12, I wrote a glowing review about MaxRewards. Sadly however, I now have to retract that admiration. I canceled my subscription a couple of months ago, in no small part because of the countless bugs encountered by several other users. I got locked out of my Discover account so many times, it was embarrassing to call them and ask for it to be repeatedly unlocked.
However, I’ve had several recent trips where I knew I had an offer on one of my many Amex cards made me realize how much I missed the aggregating feature of the offers MaxRewards provided. So I reactivated my account.
Now the deals have problems syncing. That never happened to ME before. And of course, the problems with Chase, Capital One, Citi and Discover are still ever present. In fact, I’m locked out once again from Discover.
When I wrote the developer, he just told me that my case is an “edge case.” Hardly. I load the accounts. I activate the deals. How is this an “edge case?” Those are the only two things MaxRewards is SUPPOSED to do.
This team really should withdraw this product from MaxRewards Store until they can provide at least the basic functionality that they advertise.

I get that a flat rate instead of taking $1 from every $5 earned could be good for people who are really maximizing the bonus. However, for people who barely earn $10-$30 a month from the bonus cash back, a $7 minimum monthly payment for MaxReward Gold is more expensive then it was before and ruin it. Not to mention there are people who only earn single digit back because they only have so many cards with useful offer. I really wish you can make both options available to choose - either a flat rate, or $1 per $5 earned!

Buggy buggy buggy. I originally downloaded earlier in 2020 after a glowing online review. Worked very well first few months, though Chase normally had syncing issues. My budgeting app (YNAB) has issues syncing with Chase on a reg basis, so was understandable. I started noticing bugs here and there with constant syncing of other cards, offers being inaccurate & credit scores not updating with the card apps. I eventually stopped using MaxRewards . Then I log in today for the first time in awhile & all hell has broken loose. I don’t believe MaxRewards developer has the resources to continually fix these bugs with card updates.
So I’m deleting MaxRewards . RIP a very good idea with poor support.

I’m sure MaxRewards works fine for most people, but in my case MaxRewards adds way too much friction just to even get started and puts up too many roadblocks just to see what it’s all about.
First, trying to connect to Chase Bank was horrible. MaxRewards kept showing error messages and when I tried searching for cards manually, it couldn’t find any cards.
After finally linking my Chase account, MaxRewards tried selling me a subscription. I’m not even inside MaxRewards yet and you’re trying to sell me something? At this point I don’t know what I’m buying yet.
After skipping past that, I wanted to see if I can search offers in MaxRewards . Can I search for a retailer to see if my credit cards have offers for them? I guess I’ll never know, because I have to pay just to see if MaxRewards has the functionality I want!
Finally, iOS prompts me to allow MaxRewards to track me across websites. Why is that necessary?
Nope, nope, nope. I’ll just use the Chase app itself to see my cash back offers.

I really like the idea of having an app assist me with maximizing my purchase points and organizing my credit card data. The only problem is certain credit cards tend to get disconnected and you have to add them repeatedly. Not worth a monthly charge at all, even if MaxRewards was free the results would be disappointing. Found another option with the same concept and more features after giving Max Rewards over 6 months of payments. Apps are supposed to solve problems, unfortunately MaxRewards didn’t help me out but maybe it’s helpful to those who have one or two credit cards? My Chase and Citi cards wouldn’t remain connected or connect at all after calling both companies and trying all options.

I think the idea of MaxRewards is great just add all my cards connect my accounts and can see everything here i think this is awesome but too good for be real, MaxRewards cause fraud risk and lock CHASE, DISCOVER AND CITI accounts due fraud prevention systems i think the only way to solve this problem is be partners of plaid or find the way to add plaid to MaxRewards , i suggest remove this option until can solve this problem, your team can check the multiple reviews or Reddit reporting this problem, i love MaxRewards but the best feature on MaxRewards is useless because this little problem and cause of this i need removed all my accounts and feel little scary about my personal information involved in the login method because is not secured.

The idea of warning you of deals is great but pricing is terrible. this is quite limited to only CC deals and the price asked for it is crazy. you may get an extra deal or 2 but most of that money will go to MaxRewards in reality.
The basic features are available for free in your credit card apps. If you need a summary of your finances and spendings, personal capital is much better.
This is not MaxRewards is bad, it should be free and pay itself on advertisement or maybe be a percentage on the deal like 10%. Here you pay upfront and most likely more than you will get in deals.

Greatest of all time app and I mean it! I usually don’t care for apps and I don’t review apps because I believe all apps should be at least decent (don’t believing in praising apps for doing what they should) but MaxRewards has blown me out of the water!!
What an amazing concept, extremely helpful, easy to use (esp for non finance inclined people like myself, and so many features!!!! And all for free!
Great innovative app that helps with not only financial literacy but health as well

In my 14 years as a smart phone user, I never wrote a review for any app. This is my first time, sums up how good this app is.
I’m a gold member and I open MaxRewards at-least 5 times a day to check which card to use at what vendor. I’ve been referring and promoting it to all my friends.
I really hope someone from the this app team reads this!! Although MaxRewards is revolutionary and helping me alot. I believe some more useful features can be added. I would love to see:
1. A vendor search bar on the ‘Best card to use’ page, so that I can easily enter nike, Adidas or whatever to check any offers on my card or which card to use. (I know I can click on near-me and it list the shops & vendor near me, I just want to search for shops that aren’t near me)
2. Since MaxRewards already shows the credit scores, integrate some sort of recommended credit cards offers page (something like Credit Karma). Example if Chase or Amex is giving promotional offers for more points, lemme know in MaxRewards or if I’m spending too much on dining recommend me a card with more/better dining perks.
3. Some more in-depth useful stats like my interest rate on different cards. My projected interest if I don’t pay in full or the interest I paid last month, my statement start & close date.
I know it’s asking a lot but I do believe adding these features overtime would make MaxRewards more useful.
Kudos to the team & developers!!

For years I have been looking for a Wallaby replacement. I resorted to solutions that worked as long as I could remember all the bonuses that are in place and didn’t have purchases in categories outside my regular categories. this app is the solution. While not bug free and in needs of some enhancements, it is already 5 stars and based on the interactions I had with the developers it will only get better.

I have really enjoyed using Max Rewards to always pick the highest-earning credit card to (as the name suggests) maximize my rewards. But there is so much more! Max Rewards keeps track of my credit score as reported by the credit card issuers, recent transactions, balances on cards, and deals featured by each of my cards. I would happily pay for these features. Max Rewards Gold some nice perks but it’s not worth $84/year. And that’s the minimum you’ll pay! They let you pick your price up to $25/month which at the point is just giving away money. Similar services I have cost HALF as much as the minimum they charge. And as they should since this is basically a data consolidation app. You’re only paying for your data to be consolidated, not for any valuable data or content in and of itself so it’s not worth paying for. But that’s my only gripe with Max Rewards. I enjoy the service very much and would pay for it but not the price they’re charging.

I’m a credit card geek. My parents are planning a trip to Europe, so I got them a set of credit cards to use to maximize free travel when that trip happens. However, they have a hard time remembering when and where to use each card.
I saw this on an Instagram ad. This is exactly what I was looking for. When my parents approach a store, they can incredibly quickly see what card to use at each store.
What’s even cooler is that the average point valuation can affect the rewards rate, so travel cards can go hand-and-hand with cash back cards.
Get MaxRewards. It’s definitely a must have.
Suggestion: it would be really cool to integrate this with Apple Pay, so when I go to pay, Apple Pay selects the best credit card to use at each merchant and charges that :).
You need MaxRewards.

Everything from Credit Management to Which card will maximize cash-back Rewards at local store, to be honest... hands down, this is the best App for Credit Enthusiasts and Organized Minimalist’s. I’m not even Sponsored (Should be!) I just call it how it is. Even if you feel like you don't like something about MaxRewards , just communicate that to their Customers Services and they “No lie” will look into improving the issue. Just Downloaded it and thank me later!
by H_Brodak
MaxRewards will change your life if you use credit cards and deals. If I could make an app, this would be it. If you had more than 2 cards, you know the struggle of having different offers on different cards. Especially if you use one card and then realize you missed an offer! So frustrating.
MaxRewards will automatically add rewards, let you know what card to use where, and basically MAXIMIZES your rewards. Lol 10/10 would recommend

For those that have multiple credit cards, and love to maximize savings, rewards, and redemptions check MaxRewards out. Whether you’re shopping at Whole Foods, planning a family vacation, or pumping gas, this helps maximize your financial returns.
Military, parents, travelers, professionals, students; this caters to all audiences, and helps increase financial literacy while freeing mental bandwidth from tracking spending all the time. Give it a try and see for yourself.
Anik and his team are outstanding; the user interface is smooth, the experience is friendly, and the accessibility is great.

First off, MaxRewards is amazing BUT they really need to step it up with some of the ideas other than just “unlocking Amex/chase offers”
I personally have an Amex Plat and other credit card like the Ritz that have a credit benefit to use on a calendar basis.
I would like to see an update where I can track how much credit I have used out of my $300 travel incidental. The same goes for if I have used my $10 Amex gold dining credit or Uber credit.
Reminders that credits are going to expire would be nice so I don’t have to log into all of these apps just to make sure.
To tie in, I am not sure if MaxRewards has it already or not. A payment reminder on cards would be nice and I already like how it tells you that Autopay is on.
Overall, please add this tracking feature of unused credits as this would be a useful tool since everyone doesn’t want to lose value but tracking all of this can be a pain when it’s not in one app.
by Christiec5
I love MaxRewards so much. It makes keeping track of credit card spending a breeze. You can link your account/card and it’ll tell you which cards are best for what category. It’s super helpful, especially when you have 7 cards like me. It will automatically add card offers from Chase and Amex (maybe more companies in the future?) if you have their gold membership. Highly recommend both MaxRewards and the gold membership!!
by Polekat22
Not sure what’s going on. Added two (Amex and Barclaycard) but can’t add Chase, Discover, BoA or Apple Card
by Nyccaroline84
I’ve used other similar apps, and I have to say this one really falls short, and I’m so glad I skipped the part to add my bank information!!! A bug to begin with, just upon opening MaxRewards , then the search function to add cards barely even works, is missing half my cards, buttons don’t work until after like 5 times I’ve pressed them, I can’t delete the text I searched with the X icon .... and then I don’t even see my cards I had spent a ridiculous amount of time adding, in the categories. Will not use again. There are much better apps out there.
by Xpensv2bme
I LOVED this all from the minute I downloaded it. It was easy to use and set up all my cards in about 20 minutes. Even though it was annoying having to get a text verifications to add each card. It was great having everything in one place and suggestions on what card to use where based on rewards.
However, today I opened MaxRewards and left it open on my way to the gas station so it could tell me which card to use, I couldn’t remember who had 5% cash back, and it just randomly logged me off, won’t let me log back in and when I try to reset my password it says my email address is not found. It’s like all my info was wiped out.
No way I’m going to start all over and re-add all my cards etc. I just deleted MaxRewards . Too bad, I was enjoying it for a week.

I see a few issues with MaxRewards that would make it a lot better.. 1 it assumed my cap1 platinum was a Walmart card... same for my citi secured card it assumed it was some citi aadvantage card which I do not have... allowing us to set the name we want for each card would make the problem disappear but it’s telling me to use my citi card for certain purchases as if it’s some top tier rewards card because of the glitch when in reality it’s just a secured card if they allow us to name them individually or set what type of card it actually is versus it guessing wrong it would be more useful right now the only thing I can use is the usage and guess which card in the list is which card I actually have.. It shows my platinum has a secured card and my quick silver as a Walmart card and my citi secured card has some aadvantage rewards card

There seems to be a lot of potential in MaxRewards. There are some neat features for getting the most out of credit card rewards.
Unfortunately there’s still a lot of bugs and UI improvements that can certainly be made. (It took me about 20 tries to login to my Chase account with MaxRewards )
It’s really neat that it allows you to manually update how you value different points and you’ll definitely want to use that feature because the default values are completely wonky. (MR at 1 cent per point? Really?)
The algorithm for suggesting new cards also needs some work as it completely ignores all other value in a card other than the points. It would be great if you could assign the other features of a card certain value. It also recommends canceling a lot of cards when it should probably recommended product changing them instead.
This is clearly a pretty new app so I’m being a little easy on it with 4 stars. I see a lot of potential here but at the moment it’s really only useful for the “which card should I use” and “bill reminder” features.
by Montemburg
I have not used MaxRewards a lot since I do not own many credit cards that are compatible. Although I have it installed and plan to use it more in the future. There are a few options to manually add cards including the Apple Card but not all cards can be used with MaxRewards. It would be great if they added a feature to manually add any card and manually select the features/rewards for that card.
by MintMosaic
this app is a must for personal finance nerds. This update brings long-awaited design and backend changes for much improved usability and stability.
by Bradkyle
I have to say that MaxRewards is extremely well done. You have made a user interface that competes with (or actually) destroys apps in similar fields. Keep up the good work.
by SimonNoe
Unlike the previous review, I like the UI, the beautiful summary graphs it produce and all the information it provides a lot.
MaxRewards definitely worth more attention.
In short, MaxRewards tailor for those utilize multiple credit card rewards system. It shine the most in collection all the credit card benefit information to help choose the best card to use. It’s quite helpful to help me keep track of the rotation rewards categories Discover it and Chase freedom.
The clear histogram view of rewards summery vs spending in all categories also helps one to spot previous spendings without optimizing rewards and could adjust credit cards to use next time.
I tried various financial management app such as Mint and PersonalCapital. While they might do a good job track spending but poorly incorporate rewards information in there.
Of course nothing is perfect, but so far I have found MaxRewards pleasingly helpful and would recommend to ppl with similar need to tryout.

MaxRewards is such a great idea it really helps manage your credit cards to use in the best way for the most value. It makes it very simple and is so quick to use and helps you from missing out on getting the maximum value out of your cards. Love the customizable features like adding your own value to points currencies. They also make it really easy to add your cards and have a huge database of cards and their points earning values. Looking forward to future features that are constantly being added to MaxRewards. One of the greatest apps I’ve ever used.
by Tfirefighter
I have been using MaxRewards since the beginning test phase. I love MaxRewards! I get great feedback when ever there was an issue but that was during test mode. I love to use the best app possible and MaxRewards has not let me down. The only thing is sometimes it doesn’t show a particular store that I am standing in like Safeway grocery stores. Anyway I love the features, suggestions for cards to hack next and the credit scores. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants the best points mileage out of all their cards!!!
by HeavyAudioBookUser
I carry about 13 different cards at all times, so any help with knowing which card will give me the best cash back or value is a real help when I am out and about. Not only does it give me the best card to use, it also keeps track of my balances, last payment, credit available, last purchases, % of credit used and the latest credit scores the different cards use.
My only negative is, they need to add more banks (Goldman Sachs for the Apple Card and Capital One).
by Itschris_li
I was struggling to manage credit cards before. I was always thinking what card I should use when I paid, what car can give me best deal. If you have many many cards, that will drive you crazy. MaxRewards definitely help me solve this problem, and it makes using credit card easily. However, I very concern that my private information of credit card, can developers clarify it to us?
by Lenstaa
I like how it tells you where your cards are accepted and which business will give you the most benefits according to the CC you have. Also this can be very useful when you’re traveling abroad. But some info is incorrect on certain cards I.e. Discover franchise. Besides that it’s a great app. I can see MaxRewards being very helpful to those far into the credit card game and will really help those maximize rewards.
by ABrown941
As an avid credit card points accumulator I find MaxRewards to be very useful. It shows all your credit cards from multiple issuers in one user friendly platform. I also appreciate how it shows you which credit card to use at certain stores to maximize the amount of points earned. Highly recommend!
