I gave it a five star originally because it was close to what I dreamed a language app would provide but I made a terrible horrible mistake for purchasing a 12-month subscription!! So pay for it if you don’t care about wasting your money

It’s making me crazy! When I’m trying to uncover the words I know/don’t know, I drag the word to its respective box and they don’t stay put! I have to repeatedly drag the word to the box and then it just pops right back into the center. Once I finally get one to “stick”, I then hold the next word o... Show more ver it for a second and hope it stays in the box too. Sometimes it does, most times it doesn’t.

I’m going to try it out for a few more days to see if I can figure out a good technique. If it doesn’t improve, I’m deleting. It’s so annoying to have to drag each word a million times before it stays.

The way of learning, the resources that shown for each word, and literally everything about WordUp are really great. I have just addicted to it and use it everyday.

I’ve searched for some tv shows like younger, friends, Big Bang theory, some movies like spiderman and every time I selected the episode, WordUp crashed or stuck on waiting or show the message episode not found. I don’t even know what this part of WordUp looks like! Is it really developed?
If this problem solve, this app really deserves more than 5 stars.
Right now I just feel I lose my money and do not recommend the PRO version to anybody.

When I first downloaded WordUp it was great, in just a few weeks I even upgraded to the Essential subscription because I knew it was something I would want to practice daily. More recently this app made a change and it’s been for the absolute worst. I use to be able to test myself and practice wo... Show more rds from my “Learning” bucket for as long as I’d like, 5-10 minutes. Now I can only test myself with a small handful of words from the “Learning” bucket and it then moves me to explore new words. The reason why I downloaded this was to learn new words and practice them over time so the repetition makes them more familiar. Now I am just shuffling through 10 new words a day without any repetition. Would absolutely not recommend unless they fix. If and when they fix it is a complete recommend.

Every time I select a movie it gets stuck and I need to force close WordUp to make it function. Weird, this bug 🐛 has been wearing down WordUp for months and the developers haven't had worked to fix the issue.

I chose WordUp as my main app to study vocabulary and I'm paying for WordUp too. I find WordUp useful and the idea of creating WordUp is great. Completing the knowledge map is a good measure for building my vocabulary. So I'm satisfied to some extent.

However, WordUp has a lot of bugs,... Show more and although I brought many of them to the support team's attention, I don't see a significant attempt in solving them. The critics that I had remained in WordUp , although I reached out to them many times.

I also had some suggestions to improve WordUp , and all of them were neglected.

At this point, I keep WordUp for myself, but if I could go back in time, I would choose another app as my primary means of studying vocabulary.

I hope the support team starts working on ALL the bugs and values to the users’ suggestions. You still have all of my emails!

I purchased WordUp for my kids to improve their vocabulary. They love watching the video clips - which definitely deepen their understanding of each word.
There is a bug though - every time a video clip is played on my iPhone, WordUp freezes. Please help fix it. Otherwise I will give five... Show more stars!

I loved WordUp ever since I started using it, however, now it’s not working properly, I guess since the last update where you have to watch ads, I don’t have a problem with watching the ads since I know it’s a way of giving support to the developers, but it gets lagged now, it just showed a messag... WordUp doesn’t have any option to A way to manage different meanings of a word. Like, a word has 10 meanings and I know 9 of them. There is no way to separate the one I don't know from the others, so every time I’ve gotta get through all of’em! Frustrating!

This is a great app, but unfortunately it has problems with iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd gen), first it doesn’t support landscape mode (almost anyone who bought a big iPad wants to use it in landscape mode, just like normal laptop). Second it doesn’t even fill all the space in portrait mode and has lots of b... Show more lank space at the right and left of the screen. Clearly it hasn’t been developed for big 12.9 iPad lineup.

It collects the words you know, the words to learn, and the words you are working on. It is easy to navigate and has options and games that make learning all the more engaging.

It also sets goals and I have not seen any glitches in my usage.

I’ve been diligently using WordUp and it has worked wonders for improving my vocabulary. You’re able to hear the pronunciation of all words by male and female; in addition, they have pictures and sentences, which I are beneficial. Overall, I highly recommend!

It’s been a few weeks since I downloaded WordUp . I tested a few days than I decided to purchase the full year version to get more functionalities out of it. It’s fun, it’s interesting and more importantly I am learning new words everyday! I would recommend WordUp to anyone who wants to improve their vocabulary. Keep up the good work!!!

There are very few apps I actually like but this is one of them.
It pronounces the word for you, provides you with examples in articles and videos where people used the word, and tests you on the word 1-3 days later. Always keep growing your vocabulary. LOVE!

I really enjoyed the application. If you once read the dictionary you can not forget the word because of many examples, movies and songs,....
I recommend it to all my friends.
I hope to buy premium version with a lower price since in my country 100$ costs an arm and a leg🥺

This is the best app for learning words that I’ve seen, and it can be better if you improve the push notifications system. For example, when I say to WordUp that reminds me this word tomorrow, I expect that tomorrow I get a notification for that word, or even better if that notification reminds me... As a professional I was looking for an app that could help improve my English writing and vocabulary skills. WordUp has been incredible not only for the interface but also how it connects with content in the media so you can put the words in contexts.

I highly recommend WordUp.

WordUp works great except I cannot get the sound feature to work. My volume is up all the way but it doesn’t seem to play any noise when I hit the sound button. Help!

WordUp is exactly what I need to improve my vocabulary! It’s really helpful and I love the fact that it gives lots of examples in different forms (like song lyrics and quotes). Thank you so much for making WordUp. It has made my learning process much easier and is my favorite app right now ❤️

I have been using Memrise for more than two years, but WordUp has more effective features to help you keep words in your mind.

Glad I found WordUp. It has a lot of examples with the words clipping from tv, news,quotes. I like it even though it has small bugs such as stop responding or can’t back to main page sometimes. Overall it’s really good!
