Weekly Moves May Be Better Than Tighter Together

I was definitely influenced to try the Tighter Together challenge that began after the new year. I was really excited to start incorporating heavier weights into my workouts and push myself. This program was advertised as using only dumbbells and resistance bands so it was very accessible to complete at home. However, once I received the workouts, I quickly realized this was not the case. I was able to modify most things that required a machine or bench, but it was still frustrating. The most frustrating thing to me about this program is that it was advertised as a 4 week challenge, but the exact same workouts are repeated weeks 3 & 4. I completely understanding repeating exercises to see your progress, but these weeks were literally the same as weeks 1 & 2 as if they were just copy and pasted... The Tighter Together challenge was also $50. I thought this was a little pricey for a 4 week program, but I saw a lot of positive reviews on Instagram. The Weekly this app workouts may be much better, and I was planning to try them after the challenge. However, I will not be doing this because of my experience with the challenge. The workouts were decent, but I feel I could’ve written similar workouts for myself using the equipment I actually have a available to me at home.

Programming great; app not so much

I’m impressed with the programming but after a month I’m out at least for now. I like the progressive nature of the programs. And honestly I love the “no talking” so I can listen to podcasts or music. I feel that many of the this app could use better filmed videos or more explanation so there is more focus on proper form. To be honest I would prefer whoever is demonstrating it actually do the movement all the way through so I’m following along but I get that is a personal preference. The counts are unclear on a fair number of exercises. Some clearly say “each side” and others you are left guessing.

The glitchy videos are what has finally put me over the edge. The same this app freeze up over and over so I am getting no guidance whatsoever as far as proper form. It seems that a move was filmed one time and used repeatedly so whatever is causing the freezing happens each time that move is included in a workout. Also the timer doesn’t work effectively and is actually useless. I was using it on an iPad so maybe that is some of the issue? But I tried it on my iPhone and it didn’t seem to solve the issues. I hope the technical issues and video quality improve with future updates.

Effective workouts; recommend; one issue with app

I really like Madeline and her workouts. I also really like the 30 minute workout option, and I think it’s great she includes prenatal and postpartum programs within her app. My only issue with MOVES is that Madeline doesn’t always include an alternate exercise move when the exercise involves gym equipment that most people do not have access to at home. For instance, almost weekly she attaches workout bands at high heights to gym machinery that 99% of people do not have at home, and that’s the only option or all of the alternate options involve the same machinery with slight variation. I am then left scrambling in the middle of my workout trying to figure out where I can attach my band in my house to get the same effect, which gets my heart rate down. I don’t know if there’s something I can buy for this, but I already own a kettleball, dumbbells, workout bands, medicine ball, bench, and treadmill. I personally feel like that should be plenty for an at home workout app that I am paying monthly for, and that there should be better suited alternative options. With that said, she doesn’t do this too often and usually does a good job providing alternative exercises that require minimal equipment. Overall, I do recommend and I am a happy costumer.

A truly comprehensive program-well thought out so I don’t have to think!

As a physical therapist myself, people ask me “why would you need a workout app? Just do your own thing!” Frankly, I could. But my workout time is special time to me-I don’t want to have to put a lot of thought into it. I like to put on some good music and GO. This program hits all the marks. No matter how out of shape or how advanced you are, you can find a challenging workout. Have a chronic injury or specific weakness? Alternative this app are offered for many exercises. Low intensity, high intensity, low impact, plyometric, core work, prenatal workouts, progressive overload training…all there! It is apparent that a lot of thought went into the workouts. All the major muscle groups are covered in progressive strengthening workouts, all planes of movement are utilized, unilateral work is done to reveal any muscle imbalances, and care is taken to work on core and pelvic floor strengthening as well as accessory muscles that help with joint health and overall function. Warmups and cooldowns are also utilized. MOVES is extremely user friendly and a great way to track progress. The workouts can be done with exercise bands at home, but you will get the most out of this programming if you have access to some weights, even if you have to improvise a bit. Well worth the monthly subscription-honestly I’d pay more than they ask because there’s so much content! Highly recommend!!!

Awesome even with Fibromyalgia

I had to stop working (thankful for teacher disability in California!) after 25 years bc of my Fibromyalgia disorder. I have been less active due to not working and the issues with my disorder but I know working out is important. So I have always been walking and hiking when I can and I joined a pilates gym before the pandemic. Over two years (including when I did not go for six months), I logged 100 classes. I decided to get my own reformer and continue at home bc it was very $$$. Earlier this summer, I realized that I should be strength training (everyone should) and I have equipment but needed a good program. Madeline this app has been that program. I am still doing 30 minute in the Beginner this app Plan but in two months, I have gone from maybe managing two a week to doing three consistently and last week I did a fourth. I am noticeably stronger. Do I have pain? Yes, I do and more bc of my disorder but I listen to my body and there are excellent modifications and tips to help anyone do this program. And the equipment you need is very minimal. I encourage you to try it out even if you think you will be unable to.

I can’t even put into words how GOOD this app is!!!!!

Madelines program is the first I’ve tried that I legit love everything about it! Easy to follow, great workouts, workout timer/rest button/pause button gah it’s a whole vibe.. the details everything is PERFECT 👍🏻 I am currently 4 months PP, this workout program is for ANY and ALL levels of fitness.. I started out with a very basic program & I’ve been able to build up to “normal workouts” now because she made it a process of leveling up. I have a fitness goal in mind, I know it will take at least 3 years to achieve but I have no doubt this program is going to get me there!!! Working out has always been overwhelming for me to fathom, with Madeline I don’t even have to think or research what workouts I need to do and when/what day.. she has it ALL laid out for me everyday & it’s so organized. Not only does she supply an awesome app, she’s very genuine & answers any questions I have.. her content she shares daily (meal ideas, explanation on this app, the science behind whys & how’s) is a BONUS! Madeline has your back! Forget the other apps and come on over!!!

The best!

I truly enjoy using MOVES. I’ve followed these workouts for a couple years now and I can’t imagine using anything else. I have 2 young boys and want to be active and keep up with them for many years to come. I haven’t used all of the different program options but it’s nice knowing they are there for different stages of life like pregnancy and postpartum. Depending on my work schedule for the week, I will either work out at home or the gym and the workouts are easy to adapt for both of those options. It’s also easy to choose either the 30min or 60min version and know that you’re going to get a quality workout in. The nutrition info and recipes given with the Tighter Together challenges are so very helpful! And yummy! I finally got my husband to sign up for TT this summer and just the mindfulness around food choices and macros along with the workouts have made a change in him already. He was pre diabetic and had high cholesterol and I now see him making changes to lead a healthier lifestyle. Absolutely love MOVES and the work that Madeline and her team puts into it!

The fitness world in the palm of your hand

I am so thankful that the this app App has a program focused on pregnancy! I got cleared by my OB to exercise a few weeks ago but I wasn’t feeling too confident with my other workout app as to what I could do that wouldn’t be dangerous to me or the the baby. (I feel like I’m constantly second guessing myself to make sure the baby is safe😅)
And having the Mom this app program is such relief and also so exciting.
MOVES has gotten so much more complete since I last used a year ago, I love that now besides the pregnancy program there’s also the strength this app program on top of all the other programs it had before. I will be using the mom this app until the end of pregnancy. Then as soon as my doctor clears me after birth, I’ll be jumping on the Beginners Move to get back on track and who knows, the Endurance this app program sounds so exciting I might be doing that one after! There are so many options and possibilities it makes a person like me feel like I have the fitness world in the palm of my hand! 😄

BEST workout app ever, no competition

I’ve been using MOVES for two years now and can honestly say it’s the best exercise app I’ve ever used. I actually look forward to exercising! For years I used Sweat by Kayla, then moved on to Peleton. It was inevitable that I got bored with the Sweat app (taking the same 8-12 week challenges again and again) and overwhelmed with the options offered within Peleton, with no direction on which strength training would be best, just randomly stacking legs, arms, and core without any consistency. Then, I tried this app and immediately knew this was exactly what I was looking for. I’ve done the workouts both in my living room and at the gym with ease. I finally started seeing body composition changes and noticed my strength increasing ONLY after using Madeline this app. And this is after years of consistent exercise with the other apps! I’ve learned the value of intentional, consistent training that emphasizes progress over perfection- and the value is totally unmatched, 100% worth the monthly fee! MOVES continues to get better with programs added consistently and no price increase at all. LOVE MOVES!!!

I swear this will change your life

Are you motivated to workout but don’t know where to start? Or do you get to the gym and then feel intimidated/weird when you look at the weights? This program is for you, first the workouts are amazingly programmed for progressive overload. I have been doing them for over a year and have never looked stronger (move over Jennifer Anniston). I look forward to them, some days I love to hate it 😉 but I cannot say enough good things. The price is insane for what you get, many many different programs from beginner to pure strength all for the same price. MOVES is easy to use and you can go at your own pace which is a game changer. Lots of alternative this app for different skill levels, ways to make the workouts only 30 min. Literally it’s like the target of workout apps, it’s everything you need and everything you didn’t know you needed. The only difference is you won’t leave having spent at least $100 every visit! Madeline is also the sweetest human in the world and we are best friends even if she doesn’t know me yet. Wait…why are you still reading this? Go sign up already!

Confident Mom Moveser 💪

I've been using your workouts for 3 years now and continue to see the impovements and growth within this program! When I switched to Mom this app in first trimester (18w now), I had just started a one day a week personal training at my gym to correct any form and work on any imbalances I might have to be able to continue to work out pregnancy and set up for postpartum. I was very adamant to my trainer that I really trusted your program and wanted to incorporate those into my plan and not replace them because that's what I was going to do when I wasn't with him in addition to what he might suggest. My trainer looked into your program and with some assessment found things that I particularly needed (some back work, and glute/hip imbalance being a runner for so long) It's been going well. Today he told me his SIL is also pregnant and was asking him about core things and he pointed her to your Instagram and program because he was so impressed with the program & education and now loves to be able to recommend you! 😊 Thank you Madeline and this app team! I love being able to confidently switch to MomMoves and continue my training!

Best program ever.

I have followed all the popular workout plans over the years - BBG, PWR, FBG, etc - and Madeline this app easily tops them all. I started using Madeline’s programs 1.5 years ago after a TT challenge and never looked back. The value of MOVES is unmatched, for $20 a month you get 5 strength training workouts that are updated each week with warm ups specifically for the daily muscle group. MOVES has a video for every movement showing proper form which is immensely helpful to ensure that you’re doing the this app accurately to minimize risk of injury. There are also videos separately that go into how to active the deep core/pelvic floor that show progressively more difficult this app to work toward as you get stronger. MOVES also allows you to keep track of your weight used so you can refer back the next time you’re doing the move to continue to work towards progressive overload. Madeline does these workouts herself and most days she posts stories on her Instagram of her doing the workout with form tips which is highly motivating. In the 1.5 years I’ve been doing this program I have seen incredible changes not only in my body but in my strength, endurance, and confidence. Madeline focuses on functional fitness In her programming. I know that if I continue these workouts, I will age more gracefully. I genuinely look forward to doing these workouts every single day. I recommend this program to anyone who will listen! Cannot recommend enough.

Found my forever workout program!!

I don’t think I can adequately put into words how much Madeline’s workout program has impacted my life. I never thought I would find a workout program that I genuinely get excited about doing every morning. The Weekly this app program always feels challenging and fresh but also enables me to see progress week after week since MOVES tracks weight selection for every move. Since joining MOVES in 2019 Madeline has added 4 new programs to her app (Beginner this app, Mom this app, Endurance this app, Strength this app) and has never increased the price of her program. I have yet to come across annnny other program that continually adds so much value for the users without ever changing the cost, it’s truly unmatched. When friends and family ask what program I’m doing I always recommend MOVES and tell them that I never see myself doing any other kind of workout program again - this is it for me! If you’re on the fence about trying MOVES for any reason, don’t be. I decided to give it a try once and it has truly impacted my life both inside and outside of fitness in so many ways. You will not be disappointed!

I don’t normally leave reviews BUT

Madeline’s programs really are THAT GREAT! Her programs have made me fall in love with core work, because her programs actually work. I played so many sports growing up and have never had my core worked this well. I never got stronger because it was all the same and repetitive basic this app. I’m convinced until Madeline this app I never activated my core correctly at all! I’ve learned so much about the deep core and wow the difference is unreal! A strong core is everything I was missing! Also just everything. Until August of last year I was inconsistent or didn’t workout at all. I noticed little aches and pains in my hips and my body just felt like it was crumbling. I knew I needed to move again, and I started with beginner this app. It left me feeling powerful and like starting over wasn’t impossible! Beginner this app gave me the confidence to KEEP GOING! My aches have vanished, going up my stairs is a breeze again. (unless I’m sore from leg day lol) I seriously can’t even believe a program this GOOD is $20?!?! I feel like I hit the jackpot!! And the community and Madeline are all so kind and it’s truly unmatched. If you’re on the fence JUST DO IT!!! You will be glad you did!

For every season of life

MOVES is a game changer no matter where you are in life. I have been using this app app for about three years. These programs have gotten me from strength training to training while pregnant (Mom this app) and now Postpartum this app after having my second baby. It’s so strange to say that I’ve never felt stronger in my life and that’s saying at 12 weeks postpartum!! I’ve struggled with hip alignment on top of pelvic floor dysfunction since having my first baby (4 years ago). This time around I promised myself I was going to get stronger during the pregnancy and postpartum journey. Between going to my PF PT and doing mom this app/postpartum this app I can officially say my hips and PF have NEVER felt more stable (maybe even more than before my first pregnancy). My PT is shocked at my progress and I still cant believe that I actually STRENGTHENED my core WHILE PREGNANT. I just finished the last leg day and I could cry at the fact that I was not only able to do all of the unilateral work but with weights!! Something a year ago I couldn’t do! Thank you thank you thank YOU and your team for creating a place for moms that are healing and becoming the strongest version of themselves that they have ever been!!

I can’t say enough about Madeline, her team and this incredible app. Madeline this app has truly turned my mindset about health and fitness around and encouraged me to focus on long term goals, not quick fixes! The workouts are BEYOND incredible and backed by research, science and explained with full transparency so you understand what these this app are doing and how to be performing them accurately and safely. Madeline has developed a team of nutritionist and PTs who have helped to make an already incredible program even better! The value you get as a Madeline this app member or Tighter Together participant is truly unmatched. I feel confident trusting her & her team with my fitness journey as I have seen how she continues and continues to add extra programs and value to her app without ever increasing her $20/month move membership. I downloaded MOVES a year and a half ago. This is hands down the best fitness app out there. Madeline has a team behind her that not only gives you multiple workout plans (at no additional cost) to choose from depending on your goals, but they have alternate this app to help you complete the exercise no matter what your fitness level. She works with a physical therapist who helps with this approach and also gives you guided warm up and cool down exercises/stretches. Pregnant? Don’t worry she’s worked with other professionals to create a specific plan for you and baby (again, at no additional cost). She has 30 minute express versions of exercises in addition to longer versions. A crowd favorite is the annual Tighter Together challenge (an additional fee but so worth it) where she teams up with a licensed nutritionist that does free macro assessments & walks you through cuts and reverses. You can’t find a better group of people who really care about you and your health journey. As her team adds new features and plans - the price stays the same. This is more than an app. This is a community I needed to help me learn, find a love for working out & see body composition changes. This is their mission. It works if you do your part. You won’t be disappointed!

The BEST fitness app for every stage of life!

I have been doing this app for over a year now and it has carried me through so many phases of life in a short period of time. I’ve literally tried almost every program offered. For the pregnant ladies, Mom this app will change your life! I completed this program during my second pregnancy and it left me feeling strong and ready for birth. The deep core and pelvic floor health that’s woven in is so helpful and truly helps with recovery. After birth, Postpartum this app is where it’s at. The program allows you to gently ease back into fitness while rehabbing your core/pelvic floor. I did not have this kind of programming with my first birth and the difference in my recoveries was crazy all thanks to PP this app. Weekly this app is a great program and takes all the guess work out of your workout plan. You wake up and go! No overthinking, planning, stressing. It’s all right there for you. Layer Core this app on top of that to continue rehabbing your core and seriously you won’t believe how strong you become. Don’t forget the Tighter Together Challenges!! These Challenges always push me further and help me unlock new PRs and change my body in 5 weeks like I’ve never experienced. Between mom this app, PP this app, weekly this app, TT challenges and core this app I am THE BEST version of myself. THANK YOU MADELINE AND THE this app TEAM for these phenomenal programs!!!

This program is EFFECTIVE!

I started MM Sept 2023 and have consistently followed “weekly this app” since. Fast Forward to today, I am 2 days away from competing the 2024 “Tighter Together” 4 week summer challenge. I was happy to have a foundation set with weekly this app, but jumping into a challenge without the “weekly this app” foundation is absolutely doable as the programming offers modifications and 30 min vs 60 min workouts so you can tailor to your individual needs. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using MOVES! Programming very well done by Madeline and her team of physical therapists. As a regular “fitness gal” MOVES has elevated my fitness to a new level. It’s helped me gain strength, muscle definition, tap into mindset, stay disciplined, learn about progressive overload and hypertrophy, BALANCE the body with strength and endurance, and very importantly incorporating a large component to the equation which is NUTRITION! Madeline does it all with a dietitian on staff that helps you decide how to track nutrition, be it macros or intuitive eating. The TT challenge has been more than I ever expected… I’ve come out so much stronger and tapped into the mindset ultimately breaking limiting beliefs. To trust and be established in the Self is everything! Thank you for this the TT challenge, Madeline and team, which shifted into a full out journey for me, ultimately reaffirming we can do hard things and are in fact LIMITLESS creatures!!! 💕🔥🙌 Take the leap, you can do it too, I promise.

This program changed my life

Imagine looking in the mirror and realizing you are in love with the way you feel, and then doing a double take and loving the way you look! This program changed my life, changed my mindset and gave me the ability to get results because I started to focus on how I felt and became educated on how to achieve those results. Focusing on feeling strong, feeling nourished, truly knocked down barriers of "wanting to look a certain way," and effortlessly led me to those amazing physical goals and changes I'd always dreamed of, but never properly prioritized. I wanted to prioritize "losing a few lbs", "toning up," spot dieting. But finding Madeline's program turned all that around. Her program educated me in foundational workouts -- I started seeing results after only a few weeks, and the workouts never get old. Nutrition wise, understand macro nutrients was the ultimate game changer and Madeline gives so many tools for any level of time and commitment you can give to the nutrition aspect. Spend the time learning - it changed my life and I can't imagine ever leaving this program!
