Best Flight Tracker with detailed results!!!
Let me start to saying we are in the limousine business for 30 years so we track flights all day long this is the most amazing flight tracker ever. It lets you know everything possible about your flight once you start getting the notifications it’s worth every penny. Yes it’s worth $50 a year no doubt about it. Also the second you book your flights no matter how far in advance you can put them in to the trackers. Customer service is fantastic just send them an email and they will get right back to you. These guys have worked so hard to put this app together properly and being experience in this business I have to say again they did a great job. If I could give it 10 stars I would!
Makes traveling so much easier
This app makes traveling so much easier- keeping track of all my upcoming flights and staying notified about any potential changes to my itinerary, delays, etc. The “25-HR Where’s My Plane” feature has saved me from getting stuck on a layover. Thanks to Flighty’s notifications, I knew my first leg was going to be delayed (before the airline told me) such that I couldn’t make the connecting flight, so I rebooked and avoided a crappy situation getting stuck at an airport. Thank you Flighty! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Oh, and did I mention that the app is BEAUTIFUL?! Absolutely stunning design.
So the UI looks nice. The historical on-time data is a nice-to-have but also available elsewhere on my other apps. The TripIt connection for me is a must-have, because I’m not managing my flights in several places and TripIt is owned by and connects to my corporate travel platform. That said, I feel like $50/year is very high for what the app seems to provide. But there’s NO way I’ll pay when it’s not syncing to my iPad. Hard stop. I see from another review that it is “a small subset of users” and that an update is on the way, and that was 10 days ago. So the app has my free trial to wow me and I have one trip in that timeframe to get a full test. I’m most interested in the timeliness and accuracy of the alerts, since I already get alerts from three other apps.
Very fast update notification but where’s the connection assistant?
I downloaded the app mainly for the purpose of connection assistant and quick updates. I currently have several purchased apps running, and Flighty by far provides the fastest updates to gates and flight information (there was a glitch where one of my departure gate never update at all, I had to refer to other app). My only disappointment is the connection assistant is no where to be found. I did the pro trial and had a connection flight during but did not seem to have that feature. I might just cancel the pro and use the free version since the connection assistant isn’t available.
Recommend for USA/Western Europe only
I traveled to over 15 countries in December 2019 and January 2020. Unfortunately, Flighty Pro (Piaf version) didn’t help me much more than the airline app, Google, or even better, free direct texts from the airline. Specifically, there was little Flighty information when taking flights in the following cities: Belgrade, Bucharest, Kyiv (Kiev), Minsk, Istanbul, Chisinau, Québec City, and Montréal. Hong Kong and Taipei had up-to-date information, as if I were traveling in the US. ***Updates in Québec and Montréal with respect to gate and delay information was at least 15-30 minutes behind the texts I received from Air Canada and United.*** That being said, Flighty is on point for my domestic flights between Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
App does sync well -Update
**** Update: The app has been updated and fixed. This was apparently a global issue that was fixed within 24 hours **** Old post: I have been using the app for quite sometimes now. It was working well until a few weeks until all my flights were showing planes still at the gate even though they left or still flying even though my flights were completed. Not sure how I would continue to use the app when it doesn’t seem to be syncing much.
Nice but not worth high subscription cost
I’m a million-miler, 100K+/year flyer, so I’ll try any app related to travel, including the aviation nerd flight tracking apps. I’m just not seeing the incremental value of this app over the United Airlines app and a couple of free apps to justify the subscription cost. For an extra $1/month compared to Flightly, I subscribe to a service that gives me real-time access to flight availability on any airline plus almost all of the data provided on this app. If my travel wasn’t so heavily concentrated on United, maybe I’d see more value from having all of the information together in one place other than the airline app, but I do, so I don’t need it.
If you travel - you want this!
My wife and I both travel a lot. Just found this app. It’s a little expensive - but packed with lots of features. >> than Flight Update Pro and other trackers I was using. And if you look at their release history, you’ll see they are rolling out lots of upgrades. Customer services is amazing - I could not get my phone and iPad to synch. Sent them an email, got a reply in about 3 hours, and problem fixed shortly after that.
An app for those of us who live in airports
I'm a twice-a-month airline commuter plus additional trips to office locations. I can't argue with the reviews that state all this information is available elsewhere, often for free, BUT: this brings it all together in one place, highlighting the data that is most relevant here and now. It's not a cheap subscription, but if you travel a lot, you're buying time that is worth so much more. I'm definitely in.
Beautiful and delightful
You might think of those two things in the title as the same but let me explain. The app has been carefully crafted to be gorgeous. It’s beautiful. As a frequent traveler and million miler, it’s delightful in the functionality it provides. Clearly understood notifications, detailed terminal information, advanced flight route information. These capabilities delight me as I’m traveling, while the app is beautifully designed so it’s easy on my eyes.
Incredibly informative flight app.
We just returned from a 10 day trip with Flighty in my pocket. Love this app. So much information. So accurate. So needed if you fly. If you need to know something about your current or upcoming flight, Flighty has it covered. Man, does this app ever. We might fly once a year so it would be overkill for us to pay $50 a year for this app. But to pay $9.00 for our one flight a year? Yah, I’m in. Great app.
Nice interface. But needs more features.
I do enjoy the clean interface. But I find it’s features and flight information to be lacking given the price point. For example a competitors app, flightradar24 offers more details. Particularly Adb receiver information on flights ( ie from current aircraft speed to its current altitude ) . Flighty costs more and gives you less details. If flighty could provide the same amount of adb/ other information then it would be compelling. Otherwise it’s not worth the price point as is.
Amazing app but cannot handle delays
Beautifully designed and feature rich but cabot deal with delays effectively. A recent International flight was delayed by 6 hours and this app kept saying am I time departure. At o e point it picked up on the first published delay correctly but then stopped updating while my other free tracker picked up on all time changes up till departure perfectly. It also incorrectly kept saying that the arrival time for another flight was on time despite having left 2 hrs late and the other app saying correctly they the arrival was also 2 hrs later. Please fix because otherwise it’s an awesome app.
Everything in the app are paid features. I couldn’t find one feature in the app that wasn’t paid, it’s terrible of Flighty to do this. If you want to charge for literally everything in the app (and a pretty expensive plan for what it is), you might as well just make the app paid on the App Store. Good apps aren’t like this. Considering that Flighty is Editors Choice on the App Store, I was expecting better than this. The only positive thing I could see in the app was the nice UI, clearly they wanted the app to be nice but didn’t think much through. I won’t be using this app again, because I’m not paying like $10 for a basic paid plan on an app this simple, it’s just not going to happen whatsoever.
My favorite flight-tracking app was bought by some travel site and then discontinued several years ago and I was never able to find a comparable app with a clean interface and useful features … until now. The $50/year subscription is worth every penny and I’m happy to support this app because it’s well-designed and useful and I would like to see its continued development.
