Clearly not a priority for Zero

It’s painfully obvious that Zero considers ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen a side project. The lack of functionality and crippled UX highlights how few resources are being aimed at building and maintaining this. Interestingly, mobile app development should be the easiest part for a company that has so much engineering expertise. Love the bike, really disappointed with ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen .

2 zero bikes? 1 app

It doesn’t appear that you can have 2 bikes associated with ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen which is shocking. To switch bikes it says to forget the other in Bluetooth settings. Why? I liked the GEN 1 app for its dashboard capability for the fxs. Not really useful app to be fair. Even on my SRF the upgrades require a dealer trip. Why bother at this point if ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen is useless. Firmware updates ha! Even that doesn’t work. Just take it to the dealer.

Connectivity is a scam

I just bought a new Zero SR 2022 and was super excited about the connectivity features. But ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen does not allow you to connect over anything else than Bluetooth. It is a total waste of money, no connection to your motorcycle to see its location and statistics. A real disappointment!

Buggy

Really silly small things are incredibly difficult with ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen. My bikes time is off by 7 minutes and there’s no way to modify it. Pairing is buggy and often fails. Changing the dash doesn’t push the update to the bike. Just a really poor user experience. Looks like an Apple UI, but functions like a blackberry.

Terrible Experience

ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen is horrible. The login screen tells me I’m not registered. The register screen says I’m already registered. Attempting to register again with another email says the bike is already registered.

There should absolutely be a way to reset your password either on ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen or the website but there’s nothing in either of those places

V20 Update is horrible

What once worked with problem is now a daily problem since I updated to V20. Unable to check the remote status of my bike for tracking or charge level. This update came out months ago and zero has no fix for a feature that I have obviously payed for. There needs to be a fix asap with this and magic charging.

Simply terrible

I just bought an SR/S and the bike itself is amazing. ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen , on the other hand, looks like it was built by an high school intern.

it is almost as if they worked as hard as they worked to design a great motorcycle on creating a terrible app.

I’m rooting for this company. They make a great motorcycle. Find yourself a great App company to create an app worthy of the bike. There are plenty in India that could a great job quickly and inexpensively.

Pretty underwhelming

Can’t even show the proper model based on VIN? I have to look at a SR/F every time I use ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen … no option to change.

Remote connect literally never works unless the bike is on, making it useless to check charge etc.

Clicking “notification settings” in menu crashes ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen .

App shows a random ride mode called ROLLIN that cannot be deleted, missing canyon mode.

Zero’s Customer service little to no help, weeks between responses, even though I response within minutes.

Was a mistake to purchase, will be trading back in. Feel bad for the dealer that the manufacturer is dismal at owner support.

Last update took away the best feature

After the last update I can no longer use the ‘remote query’ feature to see the bike’s current location or to see the charge level and if it is currently charging. The rest of ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen is pretty basic and I really only use the ‘remote query’ feature. Without that I have really very little need for ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen . Bring it back PLEASE!

Just purchased a 2020 SR/S

I totally agree with the previous comments.
I also am a Tesla owner. You would think after 12+ years Zero would be more advanced with Bike to App integration.
These bikes are for city use only not for at all for highway especially if you want to go for a long day ride.

Awesome!!!!!

I had the Sr than purchased the Sr/f and I have recently purchased the Sr/S which is the best by far. I love your bikes and hope you never lose your zeal to make riding safe and fun. I do hope you consider the Damon motorcycle coming out in 2021 with co-pilot and blind spot detection as well as collision. I have one on order but for now you are still number one. :)

This is a follow-up to my previous review. I am very displeased with zero at this time. I presented zero with an obstacle I am having with my bike when I charge it. The range on my bike does not reflect the range on my app. Example: bike says 81 miles and app say 160 miles. If this was my only obstacle I would be fine, but every time I charge my bike to 100% SOC my miles get lower. I am fully charge on my bike and it says I have 81 miles. I thought at first after I road it very conservatively the mile would change. This is not the case my miles are very close to what the bike says. My BIGGEST obstacle is the no answer from zero. I have bought 3 zeros in the past 7 months but will be looking to resolve or sell my current SR/S. I am very disappointed in your customer service zero

Never been able to program “Custom” mode

Gives you all the data you could want but forget programming custom
Never got that to work and gave up on it. Email inquiries to Zero went unanswered

Latest version is a failure and doesn’t do what it’s supposed to.

I’ve had my SR/F for almost three years now, and ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen is a big disappointment. Recent previous versions had been working OK, but this one is a failure. Two examples: 1: Remote connect is gone, so I can’t check on the status. For example, when my motorcycle is plugged into a public charger, and I’m several blocks away, in a store, or restaurant, or library… 2: It won’t update my firmware, and hasn’t in many weeks. When I try to update, it tells me there is a newer version available, but when I tell it to start updating, within two minutes, it gives me two failure messages, always the same. A Bluetooth connection failure message, which will stack up multiple times, making it annoying to get to go away, then the update failure message: “Firmware transfer has failed. Please key off your motorcycle for 3 minutes and then try again“. I try at the end of every ride. It always fails. ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen is a failure.

Test much?

I’m always surprised how many bugs get released to the public… and go unfixed for months/years.

Don’t use this app with 2022

Navigation is not as good as waze 2/5stars

Find a charger uses Google maps and it loads chargers you can’t use specifically for the bikes because it loads dc chargers and restricted chargers as well when PlugShare allows for the filtering of chargers you can actually use. 2/5

Remote connect is pretty amazing 5/5

Charge target doesn’t work thru ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen 3/5

Cypher works well 5/5

Custom mode limits to 104mph 1/5

Firmware updates usually take 5 tries 2/5

Over all app is a nice touch but needs some kinks worked out to make it more user friendly

Over all good

Overall pretty good, allows you to tinker with your motorcycle preferences. The only thing is the dashboard settings on ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen , I don’t think they translate to the actual dashboard. So it’s like having 2 dashboards…and the phone one unless it’s mounted on your bike while you ride is useless.

Great app for the SR/F

Though not thoroughly intuitive ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen gives good details and allows settings that are more difficult to find through the bike’s menu system. Tip: you have to use bike’s menu to turn on Bluetooth pairing the first time.

No notification when charge target is achieved.

Since the above (one time) issue of no notification upon completion of charging, I have had no subsequent problems and I have had highly positive experience with ZeroMotorcyclesNextGen. I use it regularly to control the charging level and monitoring charging. I have it found it very reliable and easy to use.

Cypher upgrades worked for my ‘22 SRS!

Great easy to use app. It had a slow pass, but it is way better and very very good today.

More info than I know what to do with

This is just a perfect app to use to manage and monitor the Zero!
