I gave 4 stars because the keyboard option is not working on word scramble or fill in the blank. There is a keyboard icon in the top right of the answer area, but it will not let you tap on it. All you can do is draw the word or letter. But it doesn’t clear the drawing area when you go to next word either. Please fix these bugs. My love SpellingWords but it’s difficult to use as it.

Apps like spelling city are expensive and my iPad doesn’t allow me to make purchases. I’m 11 and I was failing spelling and if I didn’t get 100% for the rest of my test I would fail 5th grade! every night when I come home from school on Friday I bring my spelling book with me and type in my list over the weekend. I have gotten 100% on all of my tests ever since I got spell it.I can study whenever where ever and now I am an A+ student.

SpellingWords is so great, and I love that you can make your own words. I also love the fact that it grades you! But, I do not like the fact that when you are making the list, you can not go back to a word to change it if you misspelled it. You will have to redo the whole list if you mess up. So make shire you are putting the weight words on the list!!!!!!!!

Bro SpellingWords is really good. i love how simple it is and easy to use. however could y’all please think about maybe getting a different voice😬 the words on my list are extremely hard and she pronounces them wrong a lot of times. thank you!!!

SpellingWords design is not very intuitive. There is no way to edit a previously named list. There is also no way to add a new list and add words; save does nothing. If that is a feature of the pro version, it’s not described. So currently, it’s actually worthless as words can’t be added and has no usefulness in its basic form. After deleting SpellingWords and reinstalling, it seems to work; however, I have no faith in its ability to actually maintain any words I enter.

The overall app is great but the scramble section doesn’t seem to work as intended the scratchpad doesn’t track what you write and you can’t move the letters around at the top, it makes it hard for them to learn with that activity

Found SpellingWords to help my 8 y/o son spell while he’s “on-the-go.” It’s come in real handy if we don’t have time to do homework at home. I just wish you’d include a game/section for matching words to their definitions. That would be awesome.

Exactly what I was looking for. SpellingWords takes your spelling word list and makes it more interesting than just a list. Perfect for my 2nd grader. The games help him retain the words much longer than usual.

I had high hopes, but in trying it out before offering my 6 year old a turn I discovered that accessing the keyboard is extremely difficult. In the word scramble I cannot get it to come up at all and the games Mark’s every one of my freehand written wrong -my handwriting is much cleaner than my kids so I can only imagine how frustrating and disappointing this would be for him.

It has games for my daughter to play like a word search and many other games. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I’m looking for a way to help my daughter with spelling words. It took a minute for me to figure out how the word scramble worked. And the sound on the spelling test doesn’t work. But this is a good app to use while I find something better.

I kind of like this but if the child doesn’t know how to spell the word they just have to guess. Maybe a prompt of the word? It goes immediately to a spelling test rather than practicing first. I do like that they can write the word. I could do without the typing.

AI voice unable to properly enunciate words for you to recognize words input for spelling thus inaccurate and ineffective for evaluating spelling. A human being’s voice should have been used to create a proper spelling test app to properly and clearly enunciate all words pronounced.

Really SpellingWords until it STOPPED working

This is ridiculous. I spent well over an hour adding 250 words to the list and I saved it and left SpellingWords . Came back later and it was completely gone.
Useless.

App constantly glitches out and deletes lists for no reason, and with the narrator I can hardly understand. I only keep SpellingWords so I can get a decent grade. 5/10

I purchased this …but even a good concept is very frustrating when not user friendly & doesn’t WORK !

The word scramble game does not work, there is no way to move the letters around. The fill in the blank is a tricky game to use as well. Not well made.

It really helps me learn

I accidentally added a word that wasn’t on his spelling. It wouldn’t let me erase it. WhenWe did the test, it didn’t score it.

My kid used SpellingWords to study for all her spelling tests and it is so good. Easy to use and it gives you options for 3 different ways of practicing before you get to take their “spelling test”… or you could just go straight to the spelling test. You practice as much as you want. No limits. Perfect app.

SpellingWords was great for helping my son practice his spelling words! Unfortunately the new update is not very user friendly and might have some bugs with the word search? He highlights the word then it erases it as soon as he’s done. I tried myself and the same thing happened. Hope they get fixed soon!

I’ve had it for like 1 day already and I’ve already learned 50 new words absolutely nothing I would change about it and is FREE 10/10

I am in seventh grade and I have made to the spelling bee this year and last year. I found SpellingWords and it really helped me. It is very good way to practice on your own. Just remember that some of the words might be mispronounced. I really recommend SpellingWords.

Typing in a long list of words on a phone is time consuming. SpellingWords needs a feature for importing a word list, either via a file or by copying and pasting a long delimited string. I would rate it more highly with an easier method for loading word lists.

SpellingWords is really good. I use to help my daughter with her weekly spelling and her weekly extra spelling assignments. However we use it between my phone and her iPad. I use to share it between them with the share function, but since the update the share function sends a link but the link doesn’t seem to work. The page has what looks like a button “check out this spelling” list but does nothing when clicked.

I really love it .It is more easy to add the spelling words in it . One thing that I wish that would change is when the person says the word we have an option to Mae it slow or fast . Cause on mine I can’t change it to slow and fast and other people like my niece has that option. But other than that I love it

Not really a complaint because I have the free version, and don’t know if this is a feature of the paid version. More of a suggestion…

My daughters spelling list several homophones: too, to, two, principle, principal…. When doing the spelling test there is no way to know which it is asking. Otherwise still good for word searches.

When doing the crossword it doesn’t always cross it off the list and you have to keep doing it. Then some words un-highlight. When filling in the missing letter games some words you can’t see the letters. It looks like cut off hieroglyphics.

SpellingWords really helps me with my spelling. I think if you need help with spelling then I would get SpellingWords
