Parla: Learn Spanish & English Reviews

Parla is great but there’s problems that I’ve emailed the company over a few times with no reply or fix . I’m having to erase Parla and reinstall it all the time because it won’t let me continue, it won’t let me download the lessons and when I try Parla freezes every time. When you first start they give you access to new characters which is cool but then after only a few days you get nothing for completing the routines anymore except energy?? There needs to be someone looking into these issues. I never leave bad reviews, but after being a paid member and having all these issues with no reply from the company I figure I should let others know about these issues. Please fix these issues as I’m paying for a working app

I recently downloaded Parla and it seems ok but when I opened it today I was met with an offer for a free week trial of the this app up. When I clicked on the offer I was immediately charged for a year of service and am now frantically trying to get that reversed. Unexpected immediate charges like that feel like a scam move and make me weary of trusting the company. I have contacted them about a refund and hope to hear back. I’m still unsure about Parla but if using the free version is helpful for language learning and they resolve this issue I’ll update this to reflect that to be fair to them, but beware of the free trial bc you may be charged for a year of service immediately! Update: clicking on app support brings you to a page directing you to download Parla .

I used to use Parla a lot. Like multiple times a day. I bought the year long subscription but after an update, I started getting ads and running out of “power” like I had never bought it. I’m definitely not going to pay for 2 years just to get the one I already bought. Also, I’m trying to learn Spanish but I keep getting notifications in Russian... I’ve tried messaging the support for Parla but it will never send the message. It says something about a send error. If the fix the bugs I will go back to spending money and using it daily. Until then, it’s just taking up space on my phone.

I did not read the price description. I thought it was lifetime, not yearly. How do I cancel? Hoping this will reach developer. Link in App Store to contact developer is only a landing page. I used it the first day I signed up & not since. When the bill came, I should have canceled as soon as I saw my error. I kept procrastinating dealing with this but it’s too annoying to continue I have no use for it at that price. In duo lingo, there is a beginning and end of the day’s lesson. There is none in Parla.
Canceled & deleted. Water over the dam for lost money, but lesson learned.

This is a really good app it actually works and with in one week I was saying sentences in Spanish it works and I love Parla and the way it’s going I’ll be speaking Spanish fluently in 6 months and when I do speak Spanish I’ll come back and write again but please get Parla it is so good and it’s so worth it!!

The ads a got for this we’re talking about how I could learn languages (plural) but when I downloaded Parla , the only option was Spanish. I really wish you could add french because I have to take it at school and I take longer to learn and memorize it than others. I know it’s very difficult to make a language app as there are so many words, it feels endless. But I really hope you consider adding it since this is one out of two free language apps I could find.

Parla is impressive and it’s clear a lot of work was put into it, but there are some kinks to work out. For instance, it tells you it’s wrong when you include an article. “Soy de *los* Estados Unidos” is more natural, but Parla counts it as wrong. It also doesn’t allow for use of usted, counting it as wrong if you use it in place of tú even when you use usted with the conjugated verb to make it clear. It’s a bit frustrating.

I love Parla! As a beginner, I appreciate the lessons and how they are broken up. I also appreciate how Parla incentivizes you to complete more lessons. The word match game is fun and interesting. The other one could use some work. Overall very dope!

Learning a lot already, but they do have some things that need to be worked out. App crashes and force closes a lot when only using for like 5 minutes. Please fix so I can continue to learn without disruption

Well I got Parla a few days ago and then I discovered that you need energy to do lessons. I don’t think they should add the energy because we’re just trying to learn different languages but you need energy to do them. I think Parla would be better off without the energy.

so ii like it . it’s cool . but not everyone wants to learn just spanish . now it’s your fault that people don’t want to learn spanish, but for the people who wants to learn different languages should be able to use Parla . i’ve seen the reviews and people are amazed about how they learned spanish so quick . ii already know spanish . i took spanish class . but ii also want to learn korean . like ii said not everyone wants to learn just spanish . it would be really helpful if they had different languages like korean and german and french , etc .

I asked customer support why I could not change the speed of the
woman's voice after I set it at the start of using Parla. After awhile I realized she was saying the words way too fast and I needed it slowed down but there is nowhere to change it.

It has a bug for example It will say a sentence in Spanish and then give you options but the sentence when translated to English is not one of the options and then it will say that I am wrong good app but please fix bug

When I need to practice sometimes I forget . But with parly x I never forget. And now I like to learn Spanish. I love parly x

I haven't been able to practice in a few days and since, it's been BOMBARDING my phone with notifications, even after turning them off in Parla . Sending me a reminder every 3 minutes does NOT make me want to use your app!

Very simple to use. I’ve always wanted to learn Spanish. I’m not to optimistic this will make me fluent but I will update this review one way or the other when I get to the end. This is Day #3

Parla is the best app I have used for learning Spanish and other languages

Would be a great app, but app closes when I scroll to the bottom. Also it does not sync correctly between versions. I cannot even open it. There is no way to get support for app. No email listed or in-app support.

Great content, but the systems is thicker than person of the year at a village idiot convention. The advertising is aggressive and if you want he same content but not stupid, use Duolingo.

It’s a very good app, identical to Duolingo but with pictures. My only gripe with this is it’s Spaniard spanish, using the vosotros conjugations a lot. Latin American spanish is more useful, so I’ll stick to the owl.

I am not trying to be mean but when i downloaded Parla it showed me the front screen and then froze. I couldn’t use it, it keeps freezing and I’m not sure if it’s good or not yet cause it won’t let me go through the front page
