I was directed to ActiveExperience for a virtual event which started Oct 7th. Neither my wife or me has been able to get it to open after we individually selected the race. ActiveExperience starts to open, then closes suddenly. I am about to start reloading app again after deleting and starting over five times - here goes.

UPDATE : Perhaps too many people were attempting to download to use for the FBI Agent Association Virtual 5K memorial event and contributed to the problems. At the time of the event ActiveExperience loaded and both my wife and I were able to load and used for the event and ActiveExperience worked flawlessly.

I would rate negative stars if I could. Absolute garbage of an app. Fails at its core purpose of tracking runners. Made sure to request following a runner in the LA marathon and confirmed that the runner accepted the request. App notes that I’m “Following” the runner but their location is nowhere to be seen. Good thing we noticed the other 1 star reviews and asked dad to carry his phone with him just in case. He didn’t want to carry the extra weight we’re glad we insisted. Events should completely stop using ActiveExperience and move to a competitor. The $100+ entrance fees for participants should guarantee a seemless experience for families to accurately track and cheer them on at different points in the race.

Updating this today….. after a couple adjustments, ActiveExperience worked fine!

I installed ActiveExperience for the Army 10-miler and for the second time in a row it crashed after 3 miles - and then I have to start over again at zero. I’m not exactly tearing my hair out yet but it is frustrating. Moving on.

Downloaded ActiveExperience to be able to track my husband as he ran the LA marathon. We have utilized numerous marathon apps over the years and this one had to be the worst! First off ActiveExperience required that I create a profile that included my DOB which seemed to take forever to enter because you had to use an arrow to go back one month at a time. Then once you had a profile and got into ActiveExperience there was really no way to track your runner. Thank goodness he had Life360 on! There was no marathon map anywhere on this application.

Three of us used ActiveExperience at the same time for a virtual 10k event. Mine quit tracking after 0.02 miles, but my time was still going… and I was unable to restart it. Luckily I noticed 1/2 mile in and switched to my Fitness app. My MIL’s crashed after 1 mile and was able to restart hers. But the fact that she had to run an extra mile was a pain. My husband’s luckily worked the entire time and had no issues. It was very frustrating that me and my MIL had to run longer just to make our distance for the event.

Used this to track my feaster five race! Which went virtual this year.

ActiveExperience made it super simple and fun to track my run and submit my time! Definitely was cool to see my progress fill in as I got closer to the finish line!

I don’t understand how an app like this can be chosen up by an event as large as the LA Marathon and just not work. You can’t track more than one runner at a time, and you can’t update the runners stats without searching for them again. It’s just embarrassing that this is being put out by a company as big as Active.

Screw ActiveExperience. It’s supposed to do one thing. Y’all want to take notes on a good full/half marathon app? Check out the IMT Des Moines Marathon app. Ask them for tips since y’all can’t do simple things. I couldn’t be down in Texas so we were hoping to at least I get to see her progress, time, speed, and whatever from up north. Yep. F your app

I just want to track a runner and it is terribly difficult to navigate ActiveExperience and there’s no map showing where the runner is… and if there is, then it’s really hard to find..

If I don’t run with phone how do I upload run details from my Apple Watch Exercise app to ActiveExperience.

Don’t bother. I was told I could track a runner progress along a route map. It never showed up. Lots of stuff I’m not interested in but not the one I am interested in. Boo. With the popularity of marathon events I’m surprised no one has developed a better app.

Thought it would be fun to track my friends the day of the LA marathon and couldn’t because they needed to get permission… they are racing.. huh? Why is this so difficult

I was to join w race this weekend virtually - was given instructions to join virtually - but ActiveExperience did not have the feature needed

I downloaded this just to be able to view course maps for upcoming races. When I select my race (I also tried others) occurring this Saturday, ActiveExperience takes me to a map of the entire US with my GPS location. No course map to be found. I thought maybe zooming in to the location do the race would get it to show up, but no such luck.

Please fix!

Ran a 5k along with my wife. Did everything ActiveExperience said including submitting it. 3 days later no record of our run.

This is the worst app ever it will not allow me to track my partner. We participate in the rock ‘n roll marathon and their runner tracking system moves with ease unfortunately this one does not.

Horrible…. Won’t let me track a participant….I gave the bib # nada & name ….nothing Buggy

My daughter is running in the LA marathon a d as a spectator it’s asking me for my DOB. (Why???) but then won’t allow me to enter it. AAARRRGGGHHHH

ActiveExperience DOES NOT WORK!! HORRIBLE!!

ActiveExperience should have a way to narrow down race selection to areas of interest. Also, to “pin” the races to a profile so that races ran can be keep as keepsake and the information of races to be run can be easily accessed.

Made the decision to run with my phone so my daughter and granddaughters could track us. It never allowed me to except request to be tracked. Tried dumping ActiveExperience and reloading it but it still didn’t work. Kind of frustrating as you prepare for the race but… talked with other people who had the ability to except invitations which I did not. That part didn’t even show up on my app.

Tough Mudder sent an email advertising ActiveExperience so that you can see your start time and course map. Downloaded, logged into my account, ZERO! No course map, no start time, nothing more than a link back to the Tough Mudder site. Absolute waste of time. Reading the reviews, nobody has been able to get ActiveExperience to work. Does nothing that is advertised.

ActiveExperience wouldn’t let me accept follow requests so my friends could actually track me as I was running and customer support took a week to get back to me- after my race was already over. For my friends who WERE able to accept follow requests, only about half of their trackers worked despite following all the directions.

Course map gives you a map of the United States. Exclusive Offers and Photos is just an in-app browser to Tough Mudder’s website. Email advertised Start Time, but even after logging in, don’t see that anywhere. Email also advertises Info Packet... nowhere to be found. So, what does ActiveExperience do for me, exactly?

Why is there no course map visible a week from the race?

Despite turning GPS tracking & notifications on, couldn’t track friends nor could they see me. Had to stop & restart app several times to get course info & find my location on the course map. Not worth the trouble.

I accidentally denied a friend request from someone and now they are locked out forever. How can she resend the request or how can I approve a denied request?

Did not work even though I had ActiveExperience up and running during my marathon with multiple family members following me. Highly disappointing for everyone.

On April 6, 2019 I tried to use ActiveExperience to track my wife during the cooper river bridge run. I had ActiveExperience and so did my wife and it didn’t track her at all. The only thing that did work was the course map!!!

I can’t do anything with ActiveExperience. All it’s good for is letting me know which event I am signed up for. Can’t view the course map. I have my doubts that the event picture tab will work. There is no point in downloading ActiveExperience.

Got an email to download and no part of it works. Even after selecting the NorCal event , no course map nor obstacles can be displayed . Checked for an update but there’s None also.

In theory it’s a cool app. I’ve used similar apps before. We could not get this one to work. Meaning to actually use gps to track runners. We tried it on multiple devices. Needs work.

ActiveExperience is a hot mess honestly. Looking for a course map(event is 6 says away) it just sits at the US map showing big my location. App doesn’t work. Do it rt next time don’t rush it.

Couldn’t track friends & didn’t receive any notifications. The map worked great, but that’s it.
