Search from home screen

When you start a search it defaults to alpha entry and it used to start in numerical. It also showed a 10 key keypad to make entering a SKU easy. It is no longer easy to enter a SKU especially if you’re an iPhone user. iPhones native keyboard does not have numbers on it! So an iPhone user has to switch screens to the number/symbol screen. I’m one iPhone user who is not happy with the changes you have made to AceRetailer!!!

Kindly fix the broken instead of enhancing

Almost impossible to connect outside of wifi…making deliveries….wait 10 minutes to be able to close out the order. Way to close the sale…. Can’t make the customer stand there waiting for their signature!!!
Camera (scanner) does not wok with iphone 14! Really going to need this in 3 weeks at convention!!! Call Sams Club if you can’t figure out…their scan & go works great!
No audible notifications that there is an order. Kind of important?!?!?

App freezing problem for iPhone 12 Pro Max

This wasn’t a problem unless I transferred stores recently and every time I would type in a SKU number or an item description to find my product im stocking or helping a customer. AceRetailer will freeze on me mid-typing and it annoys me alot. End up having to go to the helpful hub computer to continue my project.

Poorly designed and shoddy

Not much thought has gone into the design of AceRetailer so it’s a source of a lot of frustration and wasted time. Time is money and productivity matters for small businesses, which every Ace is, so it’s really a disgrace.

The recent graphical skin update added a working barcode scanner, which is a plus, but they also decided to hide sales and receiving history behind menus, which is actually the main use for AceRetailer day-to-day, so overall it went from bad to worse.

Also on iOS scrolling down on AceRetailer doesn’t function right, which is some kind of accomplishment. One step forward, two steps back.

Stopped working when switching to a new phone

I used this in the past to stock shelves with an iphone 10 and it worked fine. However, i recently bought an iphone 14 pro and went to use the scanner but it will never focus no matter what i do. I have tried uninstalling And reinstalling but nothing has worked or improved.

Recent update upc/sku scan.

The recent update Messed with my camera for scanning UPC and SKU, it use to default to my micro close up camera lens I could scan barcodes quick and nice but the recent update made it so that it uses my normal or 2x zoom and when I try to scan a barcode on a shelf or sheet I have to scan multiple times for it to get the one I want because it is scanning everything in a 4 foot radius. It worked previously but broke with the update I don’t mean this in a rude way just want how it worked before now.

Not great

First of all AceRetailer is used on personal cell phones which are not reimbursed by the company. Secondly, the track my truck app is way worse than the original version and very hard to use the interactive map. Lastly, AceRetailer doesn’t seem to recognize MANY items and I have to recommend they are added, even though they exist on Acenet already.

Y’all broke the app with the update

I’ve never wanted to break something more. My phone that is, after this new update. The scanner will not allow my camera to focus, causing the utmost frustration. I also have half of my screen greened-out when trying to scan. AceRetailer is not making my work life easier. Where did item history go too??? Did you guys test this before you rolled it out? I expect better from our Ace technology team. Sincerely, a Whitmore Employee.

Needs Work

Terrible search engine. The number of search results increases as you add keywords instead of becoming more specific.
Acenet needs a terminal screen popup to notify employees when an online order is awaiting fulfillment.
AceRetailer and acenet should show current promotional prices in the customer price.
Stores should be able to check availability at all nearby stores.

Helpful but needs work

App is great & very helpful but when searching for items its takes around 30 seconds to load information on product. As well when on deliveries where you have the option to take a picture of product being delivered AceRetailer crashes, restarts app & does not process the picture that was taken. Making the person on the delivery sign for delivery & that shouldnt be the case. Needs improvement ASAP

Doesn’t work anymore

I used AceRetailer at work all the time when filling overstock and processing online orders. Seemed to work well, even if it was somewhat slow (I’ll blame that on our internet). However, recently, AceRetailer no longer opens on my device (iPhone 13 Pro). I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled AceRetailer a few times now but nothing seems to fix it. Very annoying :(

Scanning UPCs

The very first version scanned UPCs like a champ. Current version however, the scanning screen is half filled at the top solid green, and will not scan unless the UPC is, near the bottom or off the screen entirely at the bottom.

Please update for iPad

AceRetailer functions well on an iPhone, you can a order product sand check inventory easily by scanning. However on the iPad it does not function as well. You cannot rotate it landscape mode and it is severely limited when multitasking with other apps.

Great tool needs one updated feature though

I would first off like to say it's very useful for ordering merchandise for our store though, it would be great to have a refresh option as the computer has so you could see your QOH. It would be much helpful if we could see what we have when we are in the back of the store and don't have a computer close by.

Camera

Leaving this review for my Dad. He had an older iPhone and it would work perfectly when scanning items for prices, but he recently got a new IPhone 14 and the ability to scan isn’t as good as it was on the older iPhone. It won’t focus to pick up the barcode like it did on the older iPhone. You have to try scanning the barcode from afar to get it to scan, but it takes a while to scan. Im assuming AceRetailer has to be optimized for the iPhone 14 camera.

Some suggestions

I’d like to have a refresh button for QOH.
I’d like an easier way to navigate going from online orders to being able to scan a product on the shelf.
I’d like to see replacement SKUs on AceRetailer.
I’d like to have an option to turn consecutive scanning on or off. Sometimes when I try to scan a barcode, it doesn’t work so I have to type a SKU in and in that case I have to go through extra steps and wait for loading to cancel the barcode scanner to get to where I can type a SKU in instead.
Rating freight deliveries crashes when I try to take pictures of poorly packed Omnis and try to submit. My app will crash.
A copy of the green bar or manifest on AceRetailer would be a game changer.
A section to create personal lists that only I can see instead of my whole store being able to see in the shopping baskets.
An option to add a SKU on back order like you can on the website.
A way to check stock reserve and delete stock reserve like on the website.

Must have after a conversion

The most useful tool I have after our conversion from True Value to Ace. Search engine could use a little better filter (like by fineline) but it’s good enough to get you close. What I love is that our Epicor communicates every night with Ace’s system and give you QOH, Loc, and cost. This is very useful to us after we converted and remodeled to help us get closer to our product that we KNOW we have, but are having difficulty locating. It’s a great benefit also when checking prices or doing a quick rain check order for your customer so that you can’t forget later. Love AceRetailer.

My personal experience

It’s awesome but only current issue I’m seeing is that when I scan an item there is a green rectangle covering about half the camera and I cannot zoom in or out and it’s all blurring the screen when I try and get close to the item barcode but if I’m too far and cannot read it.

Wow!! Now this is helpful!

Finally a way to see and respond to my customers online orders immediately!!!

The delivery routing is also very helpful! I can’t wait to deliver the next Big Green Egg to a happy customer! They will think the signature on the phone is so “cool”.

In Comparison - It’s All Relative!

The fact this has less than a 4+ rating to me is baffling. When you compare Ace to any other brand in this same industry, they are hands down leading the competition. Could it be a little better, sure! Is it light years ahead of True Value, DIB, EJD, Orgill or any other supplier in the independent hardware chain, Absolutely! Well Done Ace, we just moved here from 30+ years with another supplier and these guys have provided a product that makes you significantly more efficient within your store and also helps the customer experience. Focused on technology in 2025, what a novel thought!
