Poesie: The Daily Poetry App Reviews

I was excited by the concept of Poesie and subscribed without much thought, but on closer review I’ve found Poesie disappointing and a total scam. All of the poems featured have been absolutely decrepit. “Classic” is polite. It is one thing if the developer(s) were featuring contemporary or actually exciting classical works, but all the poems here just seemed to be randomized poems in the public domain and shared without much consideration or thought. I’d love to subscribe to a poetry app that is made for and by people who actually like poetry but this is not it!

Please make a widget it would be awesome!
Everyone who wants to could see the poem of the day without going into Poesie unless they wanted too! So convenient and a good way to help update and improve Poesie . I love Poesie it’s amazing to write and read poetry with other people who understand poetry and love it the same as me! Please do this it would be awesome to have a widget! I like to look at the poem of the day in the car in the morning, so it would be nice to have a widget to make things easier to see it. I and many other people would loooove to have a widget, please do this!

I purged apps on my phone over a break-up and re-installed this app because I love it and thought it was worth bringing back into my rotation. I forgot my password so I made contact through this app’s Facebook password. Within a day, I was able to log back into my account because App Support gave me a temporary password with instructions on how to update the password. Meant a lot! Thanks again 🌱

Really good app if you’re interested in getting to know poems.
As a non-native English speaker, I would definitely appreciate having the option to look up the meaning of some words, especially from archaic English.

This well designed app by people who love poetry for people who love poetry. It stands out among the subscriptions I have as something of value in my workaday world.

I subscribed to bring more poetry into my life and the subscription performs as expected. What I didn’t expect was the way I’d travel down the Internet poetry rabbit hole each time I received a poem. It’s a glorious way to spend my time and Poesie very much encourages it.

Finally, another surprise was how easily one can share poems and images to others. I recommend Poesie.

Reading a poem is the way I start each day— some people pray, I look for words as a substitute—- and reading poetry never fails me— I probably lose out on the meaning sometimes but I always get to read words, put together in a way I never could. And it’s fun to let a poem guide my day. So, some days, my loves better watch out. Thanks

I love Poesie. I was in a spiral of social media overload and I was sort of desperate for a reprieve… so I typed in Poetry to Poesie Store and up pops this app. Now I get a notification for a poem rather than checking the latest what’s-its on who’s-its.

It’s refreshing, inspiring, and to be honest - stabilizing!

Definitely check out Poesie and perhaps write a few of your own poems!

They have a suggestion area and they take each one seriously so Poesie is always improving for user functionality and fun. Constant updating catalogue of poetry of all types. A place to go to find poetry events with the authors online as well.
The collection is beautiful and I find myself enjoying Poesie more and more each day.

I have been using Poesie as part of my daily meditation practice. It has always been inspiring and has introduced me to poets I have never read before. But the recent upgrade has transformed it into an even more superb way to bring literature into your life. You can now read short stories and even listen to the plays of Shakespeare! I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I really like Poesie. It’s easy to use. I like the interface . I found poems I’ve loved. I like taken a moment each day to read a new poem - puts more creativity and joy into my day . I also like how they focus on one poet each week and give biographical information about the poet. This is a great app.

I feel like I’ve been looking for an app like this for a long time. It’s got a great design. I like that it feel literary somehow, and the way art is integrated as well makes it especially pleasant. So far the selections of poems have seemed well done and I look forward to reading poetry more regularly this way. My only complaint is I would love a widget feature!

I really enjoy Poesie. It was initially a means to get back to reading the poets I remember from college classes. However, I have been pleasantly surprised to be introduced to so many poets I didn’t know about!

I love reading the ‘daily poem’ in the morning while I have my coffee - and have several times gone to other poems by the same poet because I’ve enjoyed the daily poem so much. I also appreciate the brief biography of each poet.

There are so many wonderful poems on here, and the community is so welcoming and supportive of one another. I also love the recording feature, because it lets you hear how other people from all over the world interpret the poems. It’s helped me feel connected to the outside world in a positive way while I’ve been stuck at home, and it’s introduced me to a lot of amazing poems and poets. I cannot recommend Poesie enough!

Great app to share poetry in a variety of ways. A teensy bit tricky to navigate and remember to get back to a place you were before and got a bit annoying when I wasn’t able to continue without giving up a bunch of info. Just wanted to stay on the lite version since I just come to Poesie on the occasion I want to read poetry. One can record and interact with others. Many nice features. Love Poesie.

Really enjoying Poesie. I love the variety of poets featured and that it stays with the work of one poet per week, rather than a different person each day. I enjoy the option to interact with other users, or not. I like being able to curate lists of my favorite poets and poems, as well as explore new ones using the mood or theme feature. Poesie has made poetry feel a lot more accessible and digestible for me.

I'm not a poetry afficianado but stumbled on to the this app app by accident last month. I was immediately drawn in by the social aspect as well as the explanations of the poems featured and the short biographies of poets. The invitation to record and publish voice readings drew me in to further participation, as did the ability to publish my own poems. Worth the small subscription cost to enrich my mind and spirit in this unique, literary outlet. Kudos to whomever thought of this beautiful concept and brought it to Poesie store.

Poesie is the best place to view poetry at the moment. The UI is easy to use, friendly, and not too obstructive, and the community is also friendly and insightful. I love to see people's different thoughts and comments on the poems, in fact, it's one of my favorite parts to Poesie. It also has a vast library of different poets and poems ranging from across many eras and many different continents, which I do extremely appreciate.

Poesie for poetry seems to remind me of Goodreads with the type of active community. I can tell the developers put a lot of heart into cultivating what Poesie has to offer. I mainly downloaded to have daily poetry, and don’t know how active I will be with the community, but it’s possible. I have a few screens on my phone with widgets for daily art and quotes and would love if Poesie offered a widget feature so I can see the daily poems at a glance. It would be more enticing for me to open Poesie daily!

Edit: Took a very long break from Poesie only to come back and find I’ve been missing out on a LOT. This is seriously a readers best app. Poems, songs, plays, stories, all in a single app. And NO IN-APP PURCHASES! Seriously fantastic, I can’t thank the dev team enough.

You really can’t ask for more here. The poems are amazingly chosen and Poesie functions well. If you have any interest in poetry, or struggle finding good pieces on your own, get Poesie.

Get Poesie. It’s my favorite daily app and has introduced me to many of my favorite poems and poets. It does its job very well and is one of the few apps I kept when I cleared my phone.

For a free app, this app provides daily updates of inspiration by recommending music, poetry, and exquisite art. It also tracks how many poems you read, which gently reminds a user of how much progress they are making in their use.
