I’m really enjoying studying God’s word this way. I’ve read through the Bible more than once, and I’ve also done in-depth studies of the entire Bible in classroom settings. This audio guide, chapter by chapter, really helps the scriptures come alive. I have let a number of family & friends know about ThroughtheWord & have gotten them to start using ThroughtheWord.

My only complaint are a few technical changes I’d like to see. First, I’d like a place within ThroughtheWord to give feedback when there is a technical issue. Today during my audio of 1 Peter 2 side A, it kept cutting out. I changed headphones, tried different headphones, closed ThroughtheWord & reopened, but this same recording needs to be re-recorded. The B side was fine and the chapters before were good. I’d also like when you are done listening to the audio of the scripture reading that it would not just switch to the next day. There are times I want to meditate on the Word. I’d also like to have the ability to highlight scripture within ThroughtheWord & also share scripture. I also wish that if I select B side it would stay there by default instead of needing to select it each time I open ThroughtheWord .

Thank you all for your hard work & seeing the delivery of scripture in a new way! I appreciate you & The Bible Project for thinking outside the box to get God’s Word in the hearts of people today! I pray that God continues to bless your ministry.

Long time believer, first time Bible reader. My true introduction and deep dive into the word of God came through the You Version Holy Bible app which is great. However, after receiving a strong personal recommendation to check out Through the Word app, it truly took my quest for knowledge and understanding of the Bible to a whole new level!

As much as I want to understand and interpret the word of God to apply it to my everyday life and beliefs, I feel the Bible can be somewhat difficult to follow for a new comer as many of the messages that are being conveyed can be lost in translation if you’re uncertain what to make of it. This is why I realized Through the Word was a game changer for me from the first chapter of the Bible I listened and read along to while Pastor Kris Langham & company added their audio commentary. Their interpretation and explanation of the word in a down to Earth and relatable way as it applies to our daily lives today is truly remarkable.

I very highly recommend ThroughtheWord for anyone searching for a stronger relationship with God and understanding through His word. In my own personal experience with Through the Word, it’s been like being able to avoid heavy traffic and roadblocks and jumping into an unobstructed fast lane leading me directly to my destination which in my case is building a stronger spiritual relationship Through the Word.

I have always believed in God and know for sure that He has always provided and looked out for me. I’ve read the Bible on and off...mostly off. A couple of months ago my best friend got me interested in a Bible app. We started reading and listening to the chapter by chapter audios. Then found ThroughtheWord with the same gentlemen discussing each chapter. I absolutely love it and have never ever been as intrigued by the Word as I am now. I look forward to each and every chapter. I’m getting an understanding of Jesus and the times in which He walked like never before. I absolutely love the “back story” explained in every chapter of the Word. I am curious by nature and ThroughtheWord really feeds and nourishes me every day. I have changed. I am more settled, more compassionate and find myself craving the Word. It is not an understatement that the discussions in ThroughtheWord has changed my life. I keep saying...I’m different. I’ve never been here before. I am grateful beyond words. Thank you. Really, thank you.

I’ve grown up in church my entire life and have read the Bible off and on since I was a child. There were some weeks I would only crack it open on Sundays and Wednesday’s.
During quarantine I decided to make it a daily habit of starting my day in the Word. I opened my Bible App and found Through The Word audio guide. I started with Matthew...and I was hooked! I couldn’t wait to get out of bed in the mornings and spend time with Jesus.
Fast forward to August 28, 2020 and I am still waking each morning and starting my day in the Word. It’s amazing how starting your day with Jesus sets the trajectory for the rest of your day. I’m so thankful for this audio app. It’s such a great guide that helps me stay consistent. I love that it encourages you to spend additional time reading on your own. It’s an aid to help in understanding scripture more fully.
I’m so thankful I discovered ThroughtheWord but even more thankful for my newfound love of God’s Word!

I thought I always had a pretty good understanding of the Bible because I have been in church my whole life but as a teenager and in my early twenties I strayed away. A little over 3 years ago I was convicted again and knew it was time to get back to the way I was raised. I have had the you version bible app on my phone for as long as I can remember and I would sign up for different devotionals and complete them but I never felt like I was fully grasping it. A few Sunday’s ago our Pastor told us during his sermon about an app called through the word and how he plays it in his car or whatever works for him. So as soon as I got home I downloaded it and on Monday I started the intro plan and then moved into the Journey. I absolutely LOVE ThroughtheWord! I love the way Pastor Kris breaks down verses and shows us how it’s related to us. I definitely recommend ThroughtheWord to anyone who wants to dig into the word and that’s not just for new believers.

I started the Journey on ThroughtheWord and I was not satisfied reading one story a day. I started reading three to four chapters a day and I could not put the Bible down. Some stories made me cry thinking how can God love someone like me. I am so proud that I finished all the journeys and I am now starting from the beginning and reading it again. I am noticing things that I missed in my journey and I am constantly learning more and more that I cannot ever get enough. I wish I knew this a long time ago, it would of made things easier for me. God called out to me several times and I got baptized, but never followed through 50 years later and he called me again and this time I felt nothing more powerful that I needed him in my life. I thank him everyday for his wonderful gift. If I had not been molested several times in my life, I do not believe I would of reached out to him. I am a survivor and a child of God. I am not sure if I am doing things right, but I have faith that he will lead me. Thank you for ThroughtheWord I truly enjoy reading and learning God’s word. I read it first thing in the morning, so my husband can learn and he has accepted Jesus as his savior and I could not be more proud. I would recommend to anyone just do a few chapters and then decide. And see what God can do with your heart and soul.

I LOVE ThroughtheWord and praise the Lord it found me! A friend was doing the Revelations TTW Study in the YouVersion Bible App (PTL for the Community feature in that app!) and I had been studying Revelations, so it was a perfect companion to the First Five Study I was doing. Today is my last day! God makes All Things New! Amen! The pastors on TTW app do such a good job of doing a short summary with great illustrations and insightful tidbits. It has REALLY helped me understand it and I’m an auditory learner, so it’s perfect for me.
I am also doing a through the Bible in a year study through my church on the Red Rocks Church app and studying Psalms. I had been looking for a good short summary of the various psalms and when I downloaded the TTW app I found it! The Psalms study and the subscription option in the TTW app are great and I can’t wait to do some more studies as I work my way through.
Can’t wait to explore more features of ThroughtheWord and I highly recommend. Great companion to reading through the Bible or just on its own.

I always come to ThroughtheWord when I’m walking through an entire book of the Bible. I love having these bite size sermons to help me dive deeper into the meaning of Gods word. That being said there’s always one thing that gets me in every recording. The intro and exit music isn’t faded out or in. It maintains the loud level the entire time. So when a pastor begins or is ending and the music is playing at the same time it practically drowns out the speaker. For instance when I listen to any of the recordings that have used Sandy Adams’ sermons, I always miss the first few and last few words. AND his recordings are softer than the music. So I turn him way up and then as he ends the music comes blasting in at the end with the outro words. It’s very distracting and to be honest annoying.
It’s a minor technical thing- but it would be so nice if it was fixed.

ThroughtheWord has helped me get into studying the Bible after years of just reading or listening without much study. I love Kris Langham, Peyton Jones and Jonathan Ferguson’s audio guides. Some of the others that sound more like a sermon, I have a harder time with. With those pastors, It’s like a friend taking to you about the Bible and giving you insights along the way while encouraging you to look deeper on your own. I could listen to them all day! I’ve been feeling like God wanted me to be more active and less passive in my Bible time and ThroughtheWord has helped me do that.

One bug I’ve found is since the new Bible Translations came (wonderful!), I have to go to settings and change from NIV to CSB every time I use ThroughtheWord . Then when I leave ThroughtheWord it goes back to NIV. If I forget to change it before I get to the Bible passage, it sends me to the first passage in that journey rather than the one I was on. So that’s inconvenient. But overall I cannot say enough about ThroughtheWord! Love it!

Through the Word is hands-down one of my favorite apps ever I will never delete ThroughtheWord! ThroughtheWord has helped me to daily connect with God through his word and encourage me to not just read a verse or a part of a chapter but you read at least a chapter a day or more; through doing so I’ve been able to really cherish God’s word and it has blessed me so richly and deeply!!! ThroughtheWord has taught me even more so to cherish God’s beautiful word and to delight in Him! I love the audio guides so much and I absolutely love sharing ThroughtheWord with others so they can too be blessed and connect with God daily and deeply ✝️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️! I love that you can choose any book in the Bible to go through and how they also have Bible Journey plans you can do. My only critique is the fact that they only have NIV in the Bible section that follows an audio guide time. I believe that NKJV, NASB and possibly others need to be added as options. But for now I just use my written bible in addition to ThroughtheWord .

I just discovered ThroughtheWord through The Bible app. I heard one of their studies on anxiety, and enjoyed their style so much that I downloaded the TTW app. What I like about TTW is the personal style of delivery among the teachers/pastors and the studies focused on anxiety reflected a solid understanding of anxiety as a real disorder and that the studies should be a supplement, not the only thing, in treating Generalized Anxiety Disorder; that it would not be going against the Bible nor God to treat anxiety disorders with modern medicine. The teacher mentioned his daughter who has Anxiety Disorder and that she provided valuable insight for him before he published the study. I was impressed to learn that he respected his daughter’s feedback and was humble enough to back up and include one more piece to the study. Her suggestion made a difference for me and I feel it was a very valuable addition to the study.

TTW is now on my very short list of apps, along with The Bible app, that are on my Home Screen and not sorted into a folder.

I am ashamed to admit that I was a “lukewarm” Christian before finding the Through the Word app. Just reading my bible on my own was unfulfilling because I struggled to understand and apply it to my life.
Since discovering ThroughtheWord and listening to Pastor Chris and the other Pastors, my life has changed dramatically. They make it easy to understand and when I read along it makes sense. It has opened a whole new way of me understanding God’s word.
By making it my daily habit to listen to Gods word with the Through the Word app, the Holy Spirit has filled me with the desire to seek Him and His word more. In turn I want to share His message with others which has led me to reach out to more people.
I am so grateful that God is working through those at Through the Word and I would encourage everyone to try it for themselves. Thank you to everyone that makes this wonderful tool available and to all the hard work you put into it so that you can reach so many of us. God bless each of you!

I found Through The Word app several years ago, and have been using it nearly daily for additional Bible commentary on Chapters. They have continuously worked to improve ThroughtheWord over the years, and listen to user feedback to make it even better. I have been recently tracking chronologically through the Bible 1 chapter (or sometimes more) at a time. Each morning I will read or listen to a chapter of the Bible. I then go to Through The Word and listen to the associated chapter’s commentary. I have gained a deeper understanding of the scriptures, and have enjoyed the variety of Bible teachers who have contributed. ThroughtheWord has helped me be the most consistent I have ever been, in getting into God’s living word... on almost a daily basis. It is very easy to pick the chapter, put in my ear buds, and listen while I make my coffee, or brush my teeth. It is now just part of my normal routine, and a habit in my daily routine. I’ve told multiple friends and family about it, and I would encourage anyone to download it and begin using it.

Hello to all. I was raised to with religion and as an adult am spiritual but lost some faith in my own church. With My mom being terminally ill, some health issues from family members and my own, COVID and other family issues I had been feeling really down and needed some comfort. I I started praying and reading some scriptures online but was lost in trying to read scriptures with all the problems mentioned above. I was guided to look at some online apps that were audible and I started with the Holy Bible that then lead me to ThroughtheWord. I have to say it’s been wonderful. I love the different areas that are discussed by the pastor and how the Bible itself is broken down.

I turn app on in the morning and I listen to the word, I take it on walks and before I go to bed I listen to. I love that each section isn’t to long (easier to understand) and that I can listen to multiple at one sitting. I love the the preaching the pastor does and his sense of humor. It’s made me reconnect to God and I needed this.

I haven’t had any problems with ThroughtheWord and would highly recommend it.

It’s funny, I have the Bible app on my phone. About 6 months ago, when saying I’d like a devotional, I found the devotional section in the plans. But I would do two or three days and be done. Then I found audio devotionals. Through the word has devotionals in The Book if Revelations. I started it and loved that it read to me. I did part 1 & part 2. That’s when they discussed ThroughtheWord - through the word- or it was the first time I caught it. I’m someone who suffers fro anxiety and adhd. I’m a teacher and my husband was just recently sent over seas with his job in the military. Then this COVID 19 thing happened- and it is surrounding him and where he is. And I’m home- dealing with this in my end and my four year old daughter. In my time of panic I found ThroughtheWord. God knew I needed it. It’s so great. Glory be to God for helping get me the word. I’m too afraid to go to church. I have asthma and issues where I am someone at a moderately high risk of danger. I am in need of calmness from God. His word. His message. And I can do it all while working out. Or teaching from my house using distance learning. Thank you. In the midst of COVID 19 your app found me. Thank you.

I had been asking God to help me fall in love with my bible again. To give me that passion I had once before. When I came across Through the Word while doing a reading plan in another app that I really enjoy, I knew this was it! My invitation from God to explore His Word in a new and deeper and exciting way—-with a guide! Engaging, thought provoking! I feel as though I have study partners who explain the Word in such a simplistic way that helps me to actually see things I never saw before. And because it’s just 10 minutes a day I am actually meditating on the lessons and considering how to apply it to my life. Whether you’re a long time believer like myself or new to the Bible or just curious, you will go to bed every evening looking forward to what the next day’s lesson holds. I have learned so much each day. Yes! I’m in love again. Even better it’s FREE and there are NO ADS. I have been telling EVERYONE about ThroughtheWord and sending it via text to all of my contacts. Thank you for the work you did to create this wonderful app and for making it so easy to use. What a blessing. ❤️

TTW and the pastors have made a powerful difference in my spiritual growth, and yet it’s so simple. One or two teachings a day, 10-20 minutes of listening. Yet it is walking me through the Bible daily, keeping me on track, revealing truths I’ve never understood. I was born and raised in the church, but never built a strong habit of studying through the word because I didn’t know how. I didn’t understand it all, just reading on my own, but TTW has changed that. I eagerly read, listen, learn. It’s deepened my prayer life, driven my interest and desire to learn even more, just based on the short teachings. And as I get deeper and deeper in the word, my love and affection for Jesus has grown, my intrinsic ability to trust rather than fear, the fruits of the spirit have all grown because I’m watering the roots of faith through the word. The technology is reliable and easy to navigate, the suggested journeys are great guides, and the pastors are great. They’re funny (get ready for dad jokes), there’s several different styles of teaching (at least 7 or 8 different people), and they offer both contextual and topical series. Highly recommended!!

I’ve been using ThroughtheWord now for 6 months or so. I am a faithful Bible reader, like every morning kind of faithful. I was using the YouVersion app which has different devotional plans and came across Through the Word’s devotional on the book of Revelation. I loved it so much and Pastor Kris was funny and relatable. So I downloaded ThroughtheWord and it has been such a blessing!! You can choose to go through whatever book of the Bible you want or choose a ‘journey’ with several books of the Bible that lead you on a certain journey of a certain topic. There is a 5-10 minute commentary/sermon by Pastor Kris or a few other great pastors and then you listen to the chapter being read. I like the fact that it is audio because I can get on my elliptical if time is running short and get my exercise and my Bible reading in at the same time (currently haven’t had to do this yet because let’s just be honest if time is short I usually just forego the exercise 🤪 but I like that the option is there). Thanks Pastor Kris and all those involved in putting ThroughtheWord together. I know it has taken a tremendous about of time and hard work but God will use it to bless many.

If you are like me, you want and know you need to read the Bible, but often we don’t understand what we are reading, and may even day dream while reading because of it. When I stumbled upon this simple, short daily audio commentary on each chapter of the Bible, that all changed. I have never stuck with reading anything and never gone longer than a few months in a row without missing my daily quiet time. That has all changed. As of today, I have read a minimum of 1 chapter, and then listened to the audio command ion for 503, out of the last 504 days, yes, I missed One, ugh. I absolutely love ThroughtheWord, and the teachers are just great. Keeping it under 10 minutes almost every day was a great idea by Kris and his team. I started in Genesis, and completed Psalm 39 today. Finally, staying in God’s Word, has improved my Bible memorization, and improved my prayer life, and yes my walk with God. I can see the changes in me, and I praise God for ThroughtheWord , and the change. I am now a donor as well. Hey when something really works, invest there. Try ThroughtheWord , and you will find such great insights form every single chapter of the Bible, the way God meant it to be. Thanks TTW! FYI, I am wearing one or your shirts today, and they are my go to T-shirt; have 2 of them.

I have always been Christian but being raised southern baptist I disagreed with a lot of their...let’s say, extreme views. I’ve always wanted to read the Bible for myself so that I could understand things instead of being preached something that I didn’t feel was write. I have tried to read it so many times but failed. Over the last few months upon realizing so much darkness in the world it dawned on me I needed to work on my relationship with the lord. ThroughtheWord was the greatest blessing and I share it with anyone I can. I am young and at 23 I can see my mother using it as well as my 13 year old niece whom I raise. It’s so easy to understand what you’re reading when you have a caring and unbiased teacher explaining to you what you’re learning. Kris is truly an angel in this world. I have had ThroughtheWord for about a month and I am a few chapters away from completing Genesis which is the furthest I’ve ever gotten while attempting to read the Bible. ThroughtheWord has been the greatest blessing.

I used through the word app all the time and was loving it until they did something to it and now the only thing it will pull up is the first page where it shows what programs we have open… Exodus, Daniel, etc...when i click on the next chapter that I need ThroughtheWord just sits there. I had deleted ThroughtheWord multiple times and just accessed it through my browser, however because it’s not on my screen I forget and so therefore I am not using it daily like I used to. It makes me sad because it’s an incredible concept. I emailed THW several times and the only viable answer they had was to go thru the browser which as you can see just isnt effecient. Please do something to make it work with the iPhone… Mine is the 6S plus.

I loved the old app and it worked so well!! The content contained in this new app is awesome. But ThroughtheWord is slow, nothing loads instantly like the old app. So when I go to my lesson plan it takes a while to load the lesson, then it takes a while to load a chapter, then it takes a while before it will play the message, then it takes a while after you mark complete, and then it takes a while for it to send you back to your lesson plan. Please fix, I will continue to use the old app till this one is updated.

This last update has caused me a few issues...this is a wonderful app and I love ThroughtheWord been using it for over I think 5 years and have recommended it to many many people...but this update was not good I had to reinstall and then my password wouldn’t work and it was the correct one. The Bible that was there before and I got use to hearing it is gone and the NIV audio doesn’t works. ThroughtheWord is great because one of my learning type is audible and I am dyslexic so having an app that I can listen to and learn the Bible like this is great. So please make ThroughtheWord great again... I am willing to volunteer to beta test ThroughtheWord it u need more testers

Great job Through the Word! I’ve been anxiously waiting for the past month for this. Appears like you really have through things through well. ThroughtheWord takes it to the next level. Chris Langham has a been blessed and truly has a gift for speaking God’s word. I like the audio guide, read bible, journal, and prayer request features. Only reason I can’t give 5 stars right now is bc it’s a bit slow but I know they are working on it. When it is resolved it should be 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

I’ve been listening to the podcasts due to difficulties using ThroughtheWord - but since the new app upgrade was published, I’ve downloaded again and love it!
Aside from ThroughtheWord layout, TTW makes reading the Bible interesting. I love Pastor Kris’ audio guides and perspectives but also how he suggests non particular theory and encourages reading for ourselves. And as he says, this is perfect for Christians or people who do or don’t believe or are just bible-curious!

This is just what I needed.
Sometimes a chapter just won’t make sense to me, and it can be discouraging and confusing to continue reading the Bible when I’m reading it on my own. It’s often the reason I stop my daily reading.
Through the Word has a short “sermon” on each chapter of the Bible, and it’s my go-to app for when something I read is hard to understand. I’ve been more consistent with my reading time thanks to through the word.

Through the Word app has and continues to be my daily resource that starts me off on the right foot everyday! I've learned so much about living, loving and leading a life of purpose for God. No matter how many times I've heard a sermon or read a chapter, TTW always provides fresh insight that speaks directly to my day; that's how I know the Holy Spirit is using ThroughtheWord to reach people. Doesn't matter if you're searching, a new believer or a veteran Christian, God is speaking Through The Word; are you listening??

ThroughtheWord is hands down the best bible learning tool. Kris Langham and friends explains each chapter of the Bible with perfect clarity. I was able to convince My son (whom before delving into the Through the word app has never desired to know about God) to give it a chance. He started in the book of Romans and never looked back. I am so happy to say that he has since given this heart to God, he is saved! He now begins and ends his day with ThroughtheWord. Thank you for creating a platform where both seasoned Bible readers, the new to Christ and the curious learners can come and truly be enlightened. ThroughtheWord is a blessing. My eyes are wide open.

I love ThroughtheWord! Helps me big time in learning the Word because of the background and insights they added in each chapter. There is an area to write your journal on each chapter and of course the prayer list. Only thing I would request they add is the ability to see my answered prayers. As I check it off I don’t know how to get back to it. It would be so nice to see all our answered prayers and be reminded all the time how awesome our God is through the many answered prayers He gave us!

I recommend ThroughtheWord to everyone I know who loves reading the Bible and to those who are having trouble getting into it. It is so helpful when I am reading the Bible. It teaches me so much that I would never have known on my own. It shows me so many connections within the Bible and helps to reveal who God is more clearly. I am getting such a deeper understanding of this Bible than I used to get just reading on my own. It’s making things connect in my head and make a difference in my life. I am so grateful for ThroughtheWord. I would recommend it to anyone.

I absolutely love TTW! I have always found the Bible hard to understand until now. TTW takes me there to the place in the chapter that really makes me feel that I’ve been there experiencing what’s going on in the chapter. I think Pastor Chris is doing such a great job, he speaks clear, he’s easy to follow, he’s able to make us laugh, and he gets straight to the point of the chapter. I really enjoy it when Pastor Chris stories about him and his family and stories about people he know.

The Bible is overwhelming, and I didn’t know where to start reading it. Also, very confusing and a lot of old culture ways of life which made it not relatable. But ThroughtheWord, Through The Word, was like putting on prescription eye glasses on for the first time! Short bible studies which helps focus the meaning of the Bible! The Bible studies add point in time meanings, and ties the story to today’s world. I was never taught the structure of the Bible until I started with ThroughtheWord. Thank you for a meaningful app that I listen to when I am getting ready in the morning in the bathroom, driving to work, and when I have 10 minutes to kill. ThroughtheWord is a better use of time rather than watching garbage on your phone or TV.

I first found out about Through the Word on the YouVersion Bible app. I was hooked at the start and couldn’t wait till the next day to keep reading. After a while, I decided to try ThroughtheWord , and I have still loved ThroughtheWord. I like the teachers and how they make the boring lineage chapters interesting and how they put the words in the Bible to a whole new perspective. I realized things and found new information I didn’t see before.
I used to find glitches every once and a while, but since the new update it has worked fine.
I really like ThroughtheWord and I give it 100 Stars ⭐️. I would recommend ThroughtheWord to anyone, if you’re new to the Bible and your walk with God, or if you’ve known God your whole life. Really great app 👍!

I’ve been daily been going chapter by chapter through the Bible growing in my faith because of ThroughtheWord. There is the 8ish minute audio file teaching on each chapter and the word itself, along with an area to journal and note take.

A word of caution the actual tech/user interface is not great. But it’s not some big budget/well funded/ large corporate app. It’s almost like walking into a mom and pop restaurant that can’t accommodate your every specific need but the owners do love you. The audio recording are heartfelt and really powerful. Forget the bells and whistles of a pretty and perfect act. Our messiah was not pretty and perfect, and although we can demand excellence as Christians it is important to see the excellent heart in ThroughtheWord more than the average tech interface.

I’m telling everyone about ThroughtheWord. It’s so fulfilling. For me, it’s a great start to my morning. You can use ThroughtheWord to your own need, prepared study, find your own answers, just listen to the word, or follow they’re journey. I’m on journey #3. ThroughtheWord has been a true blessing in my life. The leaders have so much insight, I’m learning so many new things. They offer a place to record notes, and a place to list prayer requests.
