Or worse – have you ever spent money on a Trader Joe’s product only to discover that it's terrible? Solution: Trader Raters, an app that lets you rate Trader Joe’s grocery items just as you rate restaurants on Yelp.
You can take photos of products without writing an accompanying review if you just want to show off your camera skills! New items not yet on Trader Raters cannot be reviewed without an accompanying photo.
You can even build a personalized grocery list when you discover new items to try! Products are searchable by category, are alphabetized, and it's basically the most helpful grocery app of all time.
Take a photo of the item using the Trader Raters app.
Select a Trader Joe’s product to review.
The item must say “Trader Joe’s” (or Trader Ming’s, etc), and not be a brand-name item.
Select the category in which the item belongs from 21 different options, including cheese, beverages, prepared meals, and more.
Make sure the item is well-lit and fits within the grid provided.
Rate the item 1 to 5 hearts.
Selecting one category is mandatory, two are optional (e.g. dairy + frozen).
If you don’t like your shot, delete and try again.
In the text box provided, write a review containing the following: What is it? (e.g. Quinoa pesto: is it a spread? A topping? A snack?) What do you like and dislike about it? Include information such as taste, size, cost, shelf-life, whether it’s seasonal, etc.
Please review responsibly.
Do not publish reviews or photos that are inappropriate, offensive, or poor quality.

Great for sharing reviews and creating a shopping list. I would love to see reviewers encouraged to add pictures of the back of products so we could see the ingredients and nutritional information.

I love TraderRaters for many reasons: always having your grocery list with you; seeing what others thought of products; and being able to add products that aren’t already in TraderRaters . But for the last couple of weeks, TraderRaters won’t let me add new products. What’s going on?

I love writing reviews for my favorite Trader Joe’s yums! I like earning badges...wish there were even more to earn. It’d also be nice to have the option for different users to add multiple photos for each item.

So far it’s great! I like discovering new TJ items. I also had to change something on my account, and they wrote me back in a timely fashion. Hopefully more people will add reviews soon.

I was under the impression that after creating an account within TraderRaters , the pricing would be provided for the Trader Joe’s store within the user’s ZIP Code. The only option is to create a shopping list and read others’ reviews. I cannot budget for my grocery trip with TraderRaters. Thumbs down!
