Can’t create an account in the app or their website

2022-06-23

I downloaded Florish to try and scan the light in my room, but it won’t even allow me to create an account. I deleted Florish and re-downloaded, tried creating an account over WiFi and data, and still did not work. I then went to their website from the AppStore link “developer help” and it just brought me to their homepage, nowhere to contact support for issues with Florish . I then tried to create an account on their website, and had the same issue. I want the 20 minutes of my life trying to set this up back.

Data Errors

2022-07-24

I had high hopes for Florish. I mainly downloaded it for the watering reminders and liked that there were no required in-app purchases. I added some of my plants and all seemed well. I later realized I was not getting push notifications, despite the fact they were enabled, and when I went to open Florish , I received database error messages and nothing would load. A week later things seemed to be working better when I opened Florish , and I was able to record that I had watered my plants. However today when I open Florish , nothing is loading and I eventually get a message that “the request timed out.” Florish has been unusable most of the time I’ve had it, so it looks like I need to find an alternative.

More plants please.

2022-08-25

Florish is exciting, I love the scan the light feature. I use it a lot to identify certain spots in my home to determine how much light is coming through. Florish has a lot of potential but currently it lacks in a lot of places. I have submitted 7 plants to be reviewed due to Florish not having them loaded into their data base. 3 of those 7 have been waiting to be reviewed for 2-3weeks while the others have been submitted for a few days. An area this could be improved would be so that when you submit a photo it still shows up in the “my plants” section and would say “in review” or something. Right now it just shows a blank screen which appears like I’ve submitted nothing. Those two things(1.expand plant section. 2. Improve “my plants” section to show submissions) would bring Florish closer to its potential. I have noticed some bugs in Florish as well. I have noticed that when searching for plants to add them in the “my plant” section as soon as you type three or four letters Florish glitches and jumps to a random group of plants and the search disappears. No matter how many times you try to type it in the search it doesn’t allow you to finish typing before it jumps to random plants.

I hope to correct this review from two to five stars when these issues are fixed.

Good for some things…

2022-09-26

I really enjoy Florish! The design is very sleek and it’s easy to maneuver. However, the default ’until next water’ amount of days it decides is frustrating because I cannot change or edit that amount of time depending on what my plant needs. If I didn’t know better and just followed this I might overwater my plants and we all know what can happen if we do that (for example any houseplant should have completely dry soil before watering, and depending on the size of the pot might not be dry after the default 7 days). Also, checking off plants that have been watered is a long process and is only available with those pop ups once you open Florish which isn’t very simple and isn’t customizable. Besides those things, Florish is interesting and generally helpful for new plant parents!

It’s nice when it works

2022-10-27

About half the time it automatically marks the plant as being watered without notifying me it needs water. For example it will say my jade plant needs water in 2 days, in days I will check (b/c I forget to water) & it says next water is in 14 days, no notification or reminder that I need to water it. Half my plants have a watering can in the corner to press when watered, the other half won’t. When it works, I remember to water my plants but I can’t rely on it to remind me.

Definitely needs some work

2022-11-28

I really love the look and feel of Florish but unfortunately it stopped working for me and I get an error message every time I open it or try to access my plants.

I also found the water reminder interface slightly too minimal and would have loved a button on each of the plant pages to say I’ve watered them instead of having to rely on the pop ups. I also think that the ability to add your own custom plants would be a neat idea for those of us with some more eclectic collections. I’m gonna keep an eye on this because I really love what they’ve started with and hope they work on it more because it’s so awesome and rare to find such a functional app that’s free and free of advertising.

Needs personal Notes section & more customization

2022-12-29

BADDDDLYYY wish everything was more customizable like;
- if there was a Notes section for each plant’s page so you can write in your own notes
- if you could create Plant profiles under each Plant Type if you have more than one of the plant (for example, allow 2 profile w my plants Fresno and Lady snake plants to be created under the whole Snake Plant page) as it’d make keeping track of individual plants of a type easier. My one snake plant is wayy bigger than the other so that’d be nice to add different notes to profiles for each.
-if you could post more photos of your plant to keep track of progress
-if you could change the watering schedule from auto setting or make it to where you can put in a date you want a reminder even if set to auto-remind

I love the rest of Florish but the ability to customize a few things would be a game changer!

Some feedback for the app owner

2023-01-30

1. There's no obvious way to mark a plant as having been watered. At least I couldn't find it.
2. The day after you're supposed to have watered them, it asks you—on each individual plant—if it's been watered and then shows an animation that takes a little while to get through and blocks you from using Florish . I only have 5 plants, but this was even a tedious process for me. I can't imagine people who have many plants finding this useful.
3. Saving locations doesn't provide any useful information. It's only shown as a list of locations and nothing else (no light or direction information). This would be way more useful if Florish could show that information or even tell you which windows are best for each of your plants.

Like it but want to love it

2023-03-03

I really enjoy using this app. I find most plants and Florish proved good advice, I’ve kept most my plays living! It keeps me on to of my watering and and overall I love the simplicity. That being said- I know my pants sometimes need watered sooner or later as I’ve gotten to know them. It would be cool if we could skip days or water sooner and the patterns get recognized or something. Definitely will continue to use and recommend

Nice app! Can I get a “wishlist”?

2023-04-01

Nice, simple app for keeping track of what I have. The light meter is especially useful!

I have multiples of some plants in different locations around the house, so it would be cool to be able to add more than one type of plant, name them accordingly (spider plant in kitchen, spider plant on front porch), and mark as watered separately. Perhaps even fields where I can keep track of where they came from (bought online, from neighborhood nursery, cutting from a friend, etc)

Also, I’d love a “wishlist” where I can mark down all the varieties I’d like to add to my collection someday.

We need to be able to customize watering schedule PLEASE

2023-05-03

This is a nice app to keep track of your plants and the light meter is a life saver but I would really really really love to customize the watering schedule. It’s nice to have an estimate of how often to water but sometimes you need to do less or more often and there’s no way to change it or at least mark that you’ve watered it so it can reset back to the default time. I don’t even use that feature anymore but would be so awesome if you could track like a journaling system when you’ve last watered

Update pleaseeeee

2023-06-03

I like Florish , real simple and easy. I do feel it needs like a major update though. I did see in the review people complaint only the whole notifications thing, and I just feel like it can do so much more.. there’s a lot of plant apps out there , this needs just needs a lil to make it that much better. Maybe we can detect and diagnose plants and maybe if the motivations actually notify when it’s time to water that would be helpful.

Love the app!

2023-07-05

I really love how Florish is set up and how you can get the amount of sunlight measured. They also have a quiz you can take which is really nice that not only you can plan what plant to have next, but you can learn about other plants as well. Also,I hope more articles are published because I really love reading them! This is a great app and hopefully more plants are added throughout time.

Perfect for plant beginners!

2023-08-05

I appreciate this app so much. As a gay male in his thirties, it's almost imperative that I have chic plants to decorate my otherwise cookie-cutter apartment. Admittedly, I know nothing about which plants work in my space, where to get them, and how to take care of them. In comes this app to the rescue - I've learned a ton about indoor plants and have recently made some plant companion additions to make an apartment a home. Plus, this app's aesthetic is beautiful and inspires my own plant style. Thanks this app!

Great Idea!

2023-09-06

Love the idea of Florish! I’m terrible with plants and never know if I’m “doing it right”. Once all the kinks are worked out and it functions as it should, I’ll give 5 stars. Until then...

- camera doesn’t work when trying to take pictures of plants I would like to see in their database. It just shows a blank screen.
- I don’t think I’m actually getting watering notifications. I’m turning them on and I totally forgot and went into Florish and it said I should have watered one of my plants. I searched through all of my notifications and never found one.
- With that said, I’m looking forward to having more plants added. Peace Lily in particular... hint hint! :)

Anyways, I’ll update this once kinks are worked out. I love the idea and features Florish promises (just hasn’t yet delivered).

Best app ever for plant murderers who have dreams of indoor plantscapes

2023-10-08

Before this app, I found myself googling every possible plant I could potentially get for my house and I inadvertently end up over or under watering it or just straight up killing it in a week flat. I use the watering reminder and log all my plants and I use it to figure out which plant to put where. I’m also basically a walking this app ad now because I am disproportionately enthusiastic that I have 40 potted plants that are alive and thriving in my house. Genius app, highly recommend!

Awesome!!

2023-11-08

I love Florish. The watering reminders are awesome. There’s a super cool light feature to help you find good spots for your plants to thrive, or even just to survive. And the database has pretty much all the common houseplants. Another really cool thing about the plant database is most have really good pictures to help you identify plants, plus information about how to care for each plant, and if you can’t find the plant you’re looking for you can submit a picture of the plant with the name and they’ll do the research and add it to their database. And it’s free. Thank you!

The app 🌱

2023-12-10

At first I just got it to make sure I water my plants, and then I noticed that it tells you about each plant which is quite interesting. I learned more about the plant then I did before. One of my plants weren’t in the data base so I added it for it to be put in the data base. It said that it will only be added if others added it too, I thought it would take days to be added. One hour later the plant was added with information. I’m glad the creators acted fast and I can’t wait to see what else I can do with Florish. I really like Florish so far and have really high hopes. One more thing, how can I request for information to be added to a plant with no description or care instructions buts it’s already in the data base?

Exactly What I (& My Plants) Needed!

2024-01-10

I love Florish. It’s help me understand the difference in watering needs for my plants and get in the habit of poking the soil to test each plant at the suggested intervals. The light meter also has helped me a ton, even though they don’t have succulents in Florish yet it was still super easy for me to scan the light and realize where high light in my home is and place the succulents there. I found them on Instagram and have been following along where they post helpful pro tips too so between that and Florish my plants are doing way better. Excited for the few glitches to be fixed and more plants to be added but so far this has still been super helpful for me!

It’s a life saver 😉

2024-02-11

Get Florish . It’ll make your life easier, tell you when to water each specific plant you own, and it’ll tell you where to put the plant so you don’t kill it again. I don’t know watering cycles or light needs, nor will I ever take the time to look them up. It’s just not gonna happen. Too many plants have died. Too much shame has been brought on me by the florists at Home Depot...judging as I return yet another “unkillable” succulent. Obvious perks aside, it’s also a great conversation starter - everyone kills plants, you’re not alone. Trust.

Light meter is the best feature

2024-12-17

I mainly downloaded Florish to use the light meter which turned out great. I scanned each room in my house and saved the information in Florish . Although, when I go back to my saved locations it’s just the labeled names I provided (“west window living room”) and doesn’t tell me anything else. I can’t click on it to see the light level and it will only allow me to delete the saved room. Hopefully this is just something that the developers are working on and it’ll get fixed soon. But now my light meter is t working at all and says that I need more light. I deleted Florish and downloaded it again, but once again received the same message.
There a couple of other issues. The plant list they have is ok and growing I’m sure, but I’m not sure how long it takes for them to add new ones. Also, I wasn’t receiving reminders unless Florish was opened, but that seemed to have fixed itself.
Besides those two things, he app is easy to use, the plant descriptions look good, and I like that it gives you the reminder.

My plants are SAVED

2024-12-17

Florish completely saved my plants. Some were getting too much water, some too little, some not enough light or too much light. The light scanner helped me move my plants around so they’re in their happiest homes. I love the reminders for when to water, it makes water days so exciting! I’m seeing new growth on my plant that was withering and my existing plants are thriving! Thanks to this app, I won’t be killing anymore plant children!
