I download ARPlanes and keep crashing… They update the patch and charged monthly or yearly payment… Never got to use it…
I thought this was great! I downloaded ARPlanes from AppAdvice and I could not get it free. I followed the directions was bummed. I really wanted it but only for free. You may want to consider changing your ad in AppAdvice.
ARPlanes said you would get a 7 day free trial! They did not give me any trial and charged me immediately after purchasing!
If you are trying to identify aircraft flying overhead on departure or takeoff it does not perform as advertised
I’m 5 miles from a major airport and can’t tag a single aircraft for ID
Useless app. I open ARPlanes and the live viewer instantly freezes and shows some random flights always in the same position. I want a refund. iPhone XR.
Every flight is labeled “Private flight. Information on this flight is not publicly available.”
I tired to load ARPlanes, have paid for it and it’s still not up and going after 2 days!
Is this a scam?
App freezes at startup on new iPhone 12. No response from vendor. Would like a refund.
I’ve given ARPlanes permission to get my location while using ARPlanes , and I live in a heavy flight area, but it says “0 planes nearby”. Fail!
I was enticed by the “free lifetime “ subscription today. Dec 2, 2023.
Downloaded it. Every single plane that is in my area… shows as “private”…. Even though the MAJORITY of the planes are COMMERCIAL.

I even turned off my VPN thinking maybe that’s it?
Nope! I went to get help/instructions and it sends you to the web developers site… and NOTHING to do with AVIATION.
Thankfully… I have a much better flight tracker…
“Flightradar24”. I pay to see the details of the aircraft’s that are nearby and far away also.
I was curious to see if this new app would be just as great. I’d even would have gotten rid of the Flightradar24 if ARPlanes would’ve been outstanding.
It’s massively failed.
I live very close to a very busy airport. Not one plane would identify .. only as “Private”. Which when I cross referenced w/my other app… the planes are truly commercial.
Pls don’t waste your time or your energy on ARPlanes.
ARPlanes worked well the first time I tried it. Then it updated and never worked again. Even worse there’s no way to restore the promo again (apple store purchase). I dont care about it anymore because who would.
It’s a neat idea but boils down to just a gimmick not executed very well. ARPlanes runs great and does show aircraft around your location, however, every aircraft is listed as private. You don’t get any information other than registration number of the plane. Not very useful. If I had paid for ARPlanes I’d have been mad.
Tf… why is it asking for yearly payments now to use ? You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!!! I swear these goofy developers use bait and switch . Will give it free or a one time cheap payment only to switch it to a .. subscribe for only $15 a year without any warming. UP YOURSSSSSSS
...but I figured that something was wrong and found that Cal was immediately responsive to my first attempt to contact him for support. He helped me by figuring out that I needed to enable Compass Calibration (Privacy > Location Services > System Services), which for some reason was turned off. Instantly ARPlanes was working with my camera properly.
Very nice app, it is fun to see where they are from and headed.
ARPlanes is pretty cool! It’s amazing how many flights are in the sky at one time. I love that you can see where the flights are going as well. Great Job on this!
I live near by the fly path. Always want to catch up the aircraft photos. ARPlanes gives me the accurate information of what airline and type of aircraft near me for me to prepare my DSLR camera. I catch many good aircraft photos because the information provided by ARPlanes. A must have if live aircraft’s.
Camera freezes on iphone 13 pro max Updated: i found out that compass calibration was somehow disabled in settings of iphone after an ios update, got the answer on reddit and now ARPlanes works fine.
Although I really never thought much about aircraft until my son became a pilot, I have to admit that I had NO CLUE what a tough job that people like air traffic control had…
We live about an hour (about 39.5 miles) from Cincinnati (CVG) Airport and at all times of day or night we have at least 40-50 airplanes in the sky to view… I am surprised by the amount of information, such as Plane type (Boeing 747) what time they took off, from what airport to what airport they will land, shows the time difference, it shows the flight on a (3d) map that shows the path and lay overs… it shows the amount of fly time on that particular flight.
You can also click on the flight name to see all the information about the plane to what airline owns (sister company’s) etc.

I live about 10 miles from JFK and kids are always interested in planes. It does not show precisely the planes you see flying in the sky, just about 30 white plane shapes on their descent or recently departed. I also have a private airport nearby which has about another ten private flights showing. So maybe I live in a high air traffic area for ARPlanes and it doesn’t meet expectations. It’s pretty cool tho to guess which of the white planes might be the airplane I actually see. And to teach some geography to the kids along the way.
Simple interface, wonderful implementation of AR technology and just plane (pun!) fun
The concept is really interesting and ARPlanes is well laid out.

ARPlanes fully leverages the AR capability of newer iPhones to create a smooth and seamless experience. The interface is modern, and the information is accurate and current.
When I first got ARPlanes I thought it was trash, but now that I am starting to use it. It is a good app. It is better than FlightRadar24. That is what I use mostly.
A really cool idea with awesome execution! I like how you can view all the flight info, even with multiple legs, with just the tap of a button. Great, easy to use controls and user interface as well. Can’t wait to try it out on different places!
This is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review for an app. I love ARPlanes! It is a great practical application of AR. I cannot count the number of times I have looked up at a plane flying overhead and wondered where it was coming from and where it was going. Now I can find out. ARPlanes is amazing in the truest sense of the word!
I get airliners that don’t fly in my area but I think it’s just because of it’s going past my area but 10/10
