Love the watch but App is terrible

I switched from Garmin to this app few months ago. I love the watch but COROS needs A LOT of improvements.
1. There is not enough characters to title or name your workouts.
2. No notes section to describe workout, intervals, goals, how you felt etc
3. You can’t filter workouts by running/walking/swim
4. It’s difficult to see your weekly/monthly totals. You have to turn your phone sideways and even then you can not favorite or filter results
5. And this bug me the most. NO WAY TO TRACK YOUR SHOES. On Garmin connect, you can easily track which shoe used for which workout/race. You can see the total mileage, retire your shoes when you need to and even filter by shoe to see when you last used it and for which workouts/days

I’m going to switch back to Garmin just for the Garmin Connect App.

Terrible

I tried for a month. Really hard. With the Apex Pro. Apart from great battery life it has nothing going for it. Can’t add different types of exercise, and COROS is a disaster. Also the buttons are a nightmare. Pressing and holding just to get to the stop button - and the way it’s designed you can easily press and hold and accidentally pause. On COROS I spent hours editing sessions, deleting ones that were irrelevant- and next time my watch synched it just overwrote all the editing I’d done. I’m giving up and going back to Garmin. Don’t bother with this rubbish.

Unusable

Hardware is good. Software team is incompetent. Stick with polar or just get a Fitbit for heart rate or something: this app’ software renders your fitness data useless. Again good hardware, but the reality is the software is so incompetently designed and “maintained” that the device is basically a waste of money. It will not provide you with usable information to guide your training, prevent injury, etc - it’s confusing, software updates are unreliable and buggy, data and tracking unreliable and inconsistent, and you’ll basically end up guessing as if you had no training device at all.

Don’t waste your valuable cash on this app.

Terrible App

I like my this app Apex watch, but COROS is terrible. My main problem with COROS is that it is impossible to visually track any longer term trends in regard to items such as resting heart rate, fitness level, VO2 max, sleep, and training load. It’s super helpful for any athlete to track this kind of data over 12 month, 6 month, 3 month, etc. timelines, but there is no way to do this within the this app app. For example, I feel like I might be getting sick today, so I want to see if my resting heart rate is elevated in comparison to my normal levels. The only way to do this within the this app app is to go back through every day over the last few weeks and write down the resting heart rate for that day by hand in order to plot my own graph. Coming from a Garmin, I could see a graph of my resting heart rate over the last 7 days from the watch without even using their app! this app needs to get the software side of their business figured out before trying to push any more hardware out to the market. I’ve had my watch for about 2 months now, but I’m strongly considering returning it because COROS is so bad.

Terrible software

Came from Suunto and thought there’s no way that connectivity and software issues could be worse. I was wrong. The Aprx Pro itself is a great watch, but it continually fails to be recognized by COROS and requires different combinations of unpairing/re-pairing, re-setting watch and phone, as well as placing the watch in a freezer(!?) to actually pull data from it. Once you do get that data, COROS is very underdeveloped relative to competitors, which I hoped would change over time but 10 months after first using it, it’s still super janky. I guess this is the risk you take when you gamble on the sports watch start-up. Your money is better spent with whatever established brand you might prefer.

Update fail

Ever since the latest update of both COROS and watch, it no longer syncs to 3rd party apps(Strava), distance is inconsistent with 3rd party apps (multiple and significant), doesn't update sleep when you actually wake up but when you manually refresh COROS , and goes to a horrible landscape view in COROS when checking specific stats. Crazy bummed that an amazing tool went so south in one move.

Future Improvements

I switched from Garmin a month ago and I’m finding that COROS interface is better. The data metrics for sleep, gps, individual runs, and Barometer are doing pretty good. Battery life is better than Garmin!

The improvements that should be added are as follows: ON/OFF Bluetooth button either on COROS or the watch (i.e. firmware update), a little bit more options for watch faces, and lastly, HR metrics ( my optical HR was a little off for a few runs. 10 BPM

Lap issues

Overall, a really good watch. Just trying to figure out how all the information it makes available to you is useful in my training.

Also, having issues turning off the Auto Lap option. It’s not on the screen it’s supposed to be on. I wouldn’t mind the manual actually reflecting the setup on the watch face. It’s currently set to auto lap at 1 mile and I would just like to turn it off so that I can manually press the Back/Lap button instead.

I hope this will be addressed soon.

Happy, but..

I have the Vertex and bought it because I’m a mountain guide and go to altitude frequently. A critical metric that I use to manage the groups pace is ft/minute (or m/minute). I can’t stress how useful this number is.

Please add this to the mounting climbing activity, or better yet, the Home Screen options. This is a watch for going to altitude or diving to great depths right? So give us a feature that lets us do that in a measured way.

There is a large contingency of climbing guides that continue to use the Suunto Vector watch and love that feature. This would be a huge nudge to convert them. I was one of those people but decided to be an early adopter because of the battery life and the more accurate altitude read outs.

Give us this feature and watch sells it self.

Almost perfect

Love the easy to interpret data visual displays. It makes for a quick understanding of trends. Simple to use and quick to upload, haven't had any syncing issues like I had with other watch brands.

I do wish there was a feature to add shoes/gear to monitor usage. Maybe in a future update?

Great Modern Watch App!

The watches are great with amazing battery life and COROS is intuitive and easy to use. I appreciate the continued improvements and feature updates. I also had a watch warranty issue and service was responsive and super helpful.

Awesome

Really enjoy all the features that COROS has to offer. I came from using an Apple watch for years and the activity app from apple is really lacking compared to what you get from this app. Seeing everything on one page after a run is amazing and so simple to share. I was able to share my data from a recent race with a running coach and she was asking which watch I had. Strength workouts and training plans from their athletes is another addition that I really like plus they listen to their consumers and make regular updates. Keep up the great work.

Almost perfect

Please add more exercise profile for the watch and friends and family social network connect to complete with each other and compare others status😊, so far I like it better than Garmin, much cleaner look with the information I want to see. Keep it up with the improvement please. Thank you.

Latest app update

Love my this app apex watch and everything about it. Not a fan of the map in the background and the appearance of the data when I’m scrolling post workout with this latest update to COROS . Seems unnecessarily busy.

I love it

I love the watch. I buy a fitness watch to track my workouts and fitness. And this watch does that at a high quality without extras wasting my battery and time. (If I wanted a smart watch, that’s what I would buy.) but wanting a GPS watch that has an outstanding battery life and quality tracking, you can not get better than this app.

Thank You

I put my fitbit in the junk drawer this Summer because I found the perfect watch for me. Your Pace 2 & app make me so happy I’m still able to run and improve @ 69 yrs old. You keep adding great features even to to your entry level Pace 2 & app. I’ll keep trying to go a little faster, a little longer. Happy Holidays to ya this app, US & keep it up.

Great customer support, product has tons of features

The this app watch has terrific battery life that makes it great for daily use and while traveling, like bike trips. Customer service reps were very helpful. Has great features with a terrific price point for all sorts of athletic activities, taking it in a multi sport vacation to enjoy. Takes a while to learn all the features.

Exceptional customer service

I LOVE my this app Pace2. When a problem arose with the device, customer service was fast, courteous and knowledgeable. Turns out it was defective so they sent a replacement within a few days. I am so pleased with the level of service I received. This is a great company that clearly stands by their product. (My son, an ultra distance runner wears a this app too.) I highly recommend their products.

Keeps getting better!

Switched from Garmin to this app for the price and the battery life. At first I missed the Garmin app but now the this app app is on par. Each update improves statistics and capabilities. Transferring gps routes to the watch is easy. The new added fatigue and recovery time features are great. I love my this app APEX, and recently had a defect in the screen. this app customer service promptly responded to all my emails and questions and sent me a replacement watch. Great watch, great customer service, great app, great brand.

Use phone as heads-up display for cycling?

Any chance you guys have thought about being able to broadcast live watch-metrics onto your smartphone, enabling it to function as a heads-up display? I think it’d be a great feature, specifically for cycling, which in my mind would work by piggybacking off of your watch, chest heart rate sensor, power meter, etc., and displaying those metrics in front of you on your smartphone. I understand bike computers already do that and more, but you guys might be able to garner some of their market share with this feature.
