They texted and pretended to be NortonLifeLock. They act like they will. Walk you through the process of filling out paperwork that FTC needs immediately to ensure I don’t get billed. I then realized I’m being scammed. I am typically pretty good at recognizing a scam but for all the hesitation I felt I continued with the call and I’m not sure which one of us hung up first. They wanted me to access my bank account and I’m sure much to their surprise. They found that I had less than a dollar in my account and then they were trying to get my credit card numbers and I knew there’s no way I kept telling him he’s a scammer and I know what he’s up to and I will be reporting him immediately. which I did unfortunately this review probably wouldn’t be red until after the scams happened or somebody was smart enough to get out as soon as they saw the third-party name and then look them up and saw that that was a close one anyway I just say avoid them and if you get a text message or however, you get your messages and you get somebody telling you you’re going to be billed and you have no idea what they’re talking about. Just keep on walking don’t bother with them. It’s just another company. Using a company like this or a competitor of theirs, waiting to take advantage of others.

CustomerApp always used for scam and I am the one who had experienced the scam two days ago, and I had no idea with the scam call at all before. But now I already reported to the police as a case right now. And they already sent my case to the police station nearby my side. It was a nightmare and a terrible experience to me. Everyone please do make sure the official services will not call us by themselves and if they ask you to download CustomerApp, it means they are a real scammer. It must be careful every time everyday!

We were ask to download CustomerApp by a lady named Laura and told me phone is hacked by 69 people and said to go to a near by store to buy “ Security card” the lady told us to go to target and said to be really fast she didn’t have time she said to buy 3 gift card with $500 in each of them they said they will put it back but she cut contacts with me and don’t reply back and she never gave us our money back !!!

CustomerApp was used by me after being told to download it by what I thought was Apple Help. It was an awful, drawn-out experience and they managed to cheat me out of $400 before I hung up. Then they called me back! They told me to calm myself and that would help me in understanding what they were doing. Also kept me in the phone for a long time as they were going to prove to me that they were Apple. It was awful!

I accidentally called the wrong number for PayPal and got connected with a scammer who stole $100 from me by waking me through a security breach processs and then saying I had to buy myself a ‘PayPal gift card’ that I didn’t end up seeing. Still working to get this righted but in the mean time I want confirmation that none of my personal information from my phone was compromised. Who can I talk to about CustomerApp being a tool for hackers? And making this right.

App was used to pilfer >$10,000 from senior on a fixed income . I fell victim believing I had been hacked and was preventing further damage. The hackers used CustomerApp to gain illegal and illicit access to my info and funds used it to display false info that I was decreasing Financial risk and protecting myself as they stole monies from me. Leading me on to believe I was securing safety to my accounts all along the way stealing from me that which I was attempting to protect. Shame on you, you do not make your mothers proud. You have a moral as well as legal responsibility to not allow a forum for such atrocities to exist and thrive . Please advise as i have taken action to stop the carnage and will do all possible to expose the cretans directly responsible and the developers and administrators of CustomerApp for all harms done. Someone here needs to shoulder some responsibility or be exposed as the perpetrators of fraudulent activity and harms as well as those directly responsible. Maybe CustomerApp has opportunity of use for benefit and good. From my perspective, I see no evidence of this. And suggest for others to come forward if harmed. I offer opportunity for this to be challenged. Thank you for your follow through on this.

Zoho may not be the scammer but scammers love CustomerApp. The in app warnings are weak, Zoho doesn’t provide an easy way to report or get logs so you can report fraud. Zoho enables abuse of CustomerApp and that’s why it gets 1 star. Like others have said. If someone calls and asks you to download CustomerApp DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Hang up the call. Zoho IS responsible because like banking apps and more it should in bold large type state that it is NOT used by banks or software companies. Instead it’s vague in tiny print because ZOHO profits from scammers. End of discussion.

do NOT download CustomerApp by an over the phone customer support. I thought I was on the phone with Zelle customer support. It was a scammer trying to get me to download a Bitcoin app and I hung up. I don’t know what his plan was, but he needed me to download a BITCOIN app to confirm my identity… I think he wanted me to just sign up for CustomerApp and watch everything I type to steal all my information. Beware. All I wanted to do was change my phone number on Zelle & it turned into this.

CustomerApp may have been created for good, but it seems it’s heavily used for scams.

People will use CustomerApp to scam you. They will pretend to be customer support for Apple and they will try to trick you to give them access to your phone through an app while pretending to be Apple support. They attempt to get you to download this terrible app so they can get access to your phone and see all your passwords and bank accounts. So beware. Also SHAME on the developers for allowing this scam to run freely on their app. Who knows what other customer support they pretend to be. Delete CustomerApp now to avoid anyone stealing all your information. Good luck.

Zoho Assist was used to access my account and perpetrate theft. Can you tell me how in depth they can access information on my devices or are they limited to the open screen? Scammers were able to move funds from credit card accounts to checking account. I feel stupid in attempting to pay a false invoice. The invoice was from Norton Lifelock and I had just been in contact with Norton the week before, so it was a relative timing for an invoice and the false invoice had reasonable line item pricing. So it appears they had access to Norton pricing and information regarding my contact with Norton.

CustomerApp appears to lack a sense of security to where foreign relations are able to access this account from anywhere and if you are reaching out to support to address a problem, they can access a wide array of your data and breach your security if you allow them. I don’t trust CustomerApp anymore and I would be careful to make sure that you are trusting the client on the other side. I hope the developers can eventually see this and note to add further security measures next time so that people don’t lose anymore money, because it unfortunately happened to me. Had Zoho Assist had better protocols in place for ghost accounts to be integrated, they would not be able to access the information of hard working people everywhere at their fingertips.

Called a Facebook support number that I searched for online and the tech asked me to download CustomerApp, which I stupidly did until they asked me to access my PayPal account at which time I hung up and deleted CustomerApp . Hopefully that is sufficient and they could not access anything on my phone except seeing my screen???

CustomerApp SHOULD HAVE ALL CAPS WARNINGS NOT TO JOIN A SESSION UNLESS YOU HAVE TAKEN EXTREME MEASURES TO VERIFY YOU ARE SPEAKING TO A LEGITIMATE TECH WHO USES CustomerApp.

But I’m pretty sure it’s just a trash scam app.

This is more of a gripe against Apple than this particular app: we still can’t remote control iOS devices through this and are limited to screen sharing only. This is a ridiculous position that Apple has and it costs organizations countless support hours. PCs, Macs and Linux desktops support remote control for support purposes, it is high time Apple catches up to the other OSes and allow this.

Scammers convinced me to load CustomerApp and they were able to see the screen of my phone. They acted like technicians do with computer screens. I reported it to Zoho and they said they found the group and kicked them off CustomerApp . So beware because they could easily get back on and try someone else.

I hope the developer does some thing about all of the scammers in India using CustomerApp to gain access to peoples phones, credentials, and ultimately their money. It’s so widespread right now. I understand that the scammers will likely just go onto another app but we need these developers to crack down on this this

App is used by scammers to gain access to your phone. Unless you know personally the person on the other side, I would strongly advise you not to download

CustomerApp works great but your getting scammed if you think you are dealing Facebook or other support services. If you got the phone number from search engine it’s likely a scammer. Only use a support line from that company’s website.

Thank you Shane for your awesome service and help getting my limits adjusted. Seems lame to have such low limits set for people that are trying to do things. Hope you do well Shane I hope you get to see this. Really hope your supervisors see it. Well done Shane.

i tried using CustomerApp to when someone from paypal said they could help me get a refund. they actually tricked me into thinking i could get a refund and used CustomerApp to go through all my info. do not use CustomerApp. they will scam you and tell you that they work for a certain company but they DONT. they will call and try to get you to send more money but make sure you ALWAYS answer calls with an automated response first.

TLDR: DO NOT DOWNLOAD CustomerApp

CustomerApp works so well on MAC Windows and IOS devices.
Very responsive and easy to use.
A question/idea, it would be much better to have the accept connection screen before the screen cast step as CustomerApp does not advise to tap the screen to get the disclaimer page.
Additionally, those that are complaining about being scammed. It is not Zoho responsibility for you to know who you are letting access your device. If you did not request the connection or know the person connecting then it is all on you.
No reputable person/company will call/email you for this type of service. Not IRS Microsoft nor billy joe. Use your head for something besides a hat rack, my pop used to tell me. Be aware of your surroundings and communications before letting ANYONE connect to your devices.
