Edit: Layout fixed for modern phones

Layout issue has been addressed so I’ve update the star rating. For the reading experience to match others in this category it’d be nice to be able to disable the page turn animations - they are distracting and seem antiquated in an otherwise modern looking app.

I like how easy it is to use the document picker to load ePub files from iCloud into tiReader for reading. I manage my collection in Calibre so this allows for easy transfers. My current ePub app (Marvin) has been seemingly abandoned so I’m on the hunt in a narrowing app category. I plan to read the next book on my reading list in this app to see if this will be my next home for ePubs.

[Previous comment: “From iPhone X on, this app interface elements, when a book is open, collide with the ‘safe’ area at the top of the display - tool bar buttons overlap the time/notch/signal strength area. This makes interacting with them impossible. Renders tiReader dead in the water.” 5.15 addresses the layout - not sure if a 3 year delay is reasonable iPhone X release date was Nov. 2017]

You want the best, you got the best...

I’ve been looking through every current eBook reader for iOS, and this is the ONLY one I’ve found that has ALL the features I’m looking for and then some. Paragraph spacing is crucial to fixing a lot of my broken old ePubs. A clean and uncluttered reading view is nice. Online syncing to my storage of choice, (Google Drive,) as well as in-app metadata editing are a couple of nice bonuses. One thing I wish they’d add would be pop-out boxes for footnotes like in Apple Books, rather than jumping back and forth in the book, as well as adding special highlighting/font increasing of footnote stars*, which are often too easy to overlook.

great

It’s wonderful. It opens every eBook format there is and for a book lover that is important. Plus it has the effect of turning a book. Makes it feel like you are really turning the book. What's even better, it can open audio books too and it can read you books to you. If you think these aren't cool enough it also stores your books on tiReader so you that even if you lose the books. You have it right there on your app.

Works great on iPhone

Really happy with tiReader. I can put epubs in the dropzone on my Mac and it imports directly into this app. I read mostly at night to I configure it to be black with white letters, or beige with brown— whatever I want... fonts customized fast. I hate to give five stars because there Is always a way to improve, but this delivers what I want very well so, there you go.

Fonts so small

Come on! Why are all reader fonts so small? Even when increasing font size it’s barely 1/2 inch. I’m visually impaired and miss reading. I really want to like tiReader but what is it with app developers and fonts. They must have super vision. I mean absurdly no issue going the opposite direction to super super small…like anyone could read that small or would want to. It’s so frustrating for the disabled who are desperate to read again. Why can developers not increase font sizes larger? It’s like they just can’t get it through their heads that many people have visually issues. Oh well. Another reading app I’ll have to pass up. Sigh.

Great eBook Reader

Great up to date ebook reader. Former Marvin users, but that app seems to have died. Would love to see a bulk import feature.. search Dropbox or other online folder, and get a list of books and select the ones you want to import. The download process with this app takes about 5 taps per book. Also wish you could control the size of each entry in the list view. These are all minor quibbles, all around a solid reader

Love it but....

I absolutely love this reader. I feel like it is the best reader but all of sudden I can’t connect with my google drive (where I save all my stories) in the accounts tab. Luckily I can still access it through document picker but I have to upload it one by one and it takes a while. When I was able to access google drive I could upload multiple stories at once but now I can’t and I am a little bummed.

Good app, just not for me

I like the large selection of supported formats but just don’t care for the “folder” metaphor for organizing my books. Also seems to have problems sorting by Author, some books aren’t properly sorted and can’t fix them. Would be nice to be able to manually sort books as well. Had some trouble with the interface at first but they provide some video tutorials which helped explain the UI. Overall a good app, just still can’t find an ebook reader that does it all.

Best OPDS App

Setting up OPDS was easy and worked flawlessly.
I set up my server this morning and spent the last three hours trying every OPDS app available and this one seems to be the best. It works with every format in my library out of the box AND they don’t have a stupid subscription model.

Finally a good ebook reader

It’s not often that I review an app but this one deserves it. All the other apps I’ve tried, including Apple’s default reader, fell short in some way - some text cut off, etc. So far, this app has performed perfectly. I’m surprised it hasn’t had more downloads. Give it a try.

Awesome eBook reader and I should know...

I've downloaded them all. Forget about Kindle or iBooks as the they lack the customization needed from serious eBook readers like us. Marvin and Marvin 3 were the best until their creator went for a money grab and stopped supporting the apps. Clearly this app is aiming for the top spot and has hit the nail on the head.

Keep it up this app!

A great reader app

Customization is great, the ability to sort your library is killer for me (both sort and group). The only reason it isn't 5 stars is the latest ios update seems to have broken the text highlighting feature as well as dark/night mode. Otherwise this is the best ereader app on tiReader store

By

like it

This is By far my favorite ebook reader. It’s the most customizable, giving you more options than the other apps and more range of adjustment than other apps. Being able easily add books via cloud storage is fantastic. Looking forward to updates

By

well done

I love being able to have my books with me all times, and not have huge bulks of paperback books! Intuitive interface and well design. I can turn pages easily and never lost my spot. The best part is it supports all of e-book File types I have

By

Great app

I have tried a lot of e-reader apps, this one is at the top. There are few features that aren’t available in this one like text-to-speech and translation. Also it keeps saying “sync error” for some reason. But tiReader has a good features other apps don’t. Give it a try.

Best book reader

Fantastic book reader, great rendering of text and images. Integrates fantastically with Calibre on my Mac and online services such as Dropbox. Very customizable but easy to use. Has become my primary book and comic reader, and I have tried many applications. This one is well worth it!

By

almost the perfect ereader app

Best ereader app I’ve tried. It’s easy for me to organize my many books and I love how customizable the display is. My only complaint is the fonts I imported no longer work after updating to ios 14.

works well

A simple, effective and ready to use ebook Reader app that can be customized to the user's whims in many ways. tiReader is simply the best reader I've ever tried. And I tried a lot of other ones. It's fast and has a lot of advanced features.

Poor Customer Service

Reached out to them about an issue I had with some cbr files being corrupted and others not. Was only happening with tiReader. Other apps opened the “corrupted” files without issue. No response. Reached out to them twice and gave up. Reached out to apple to get a refund and apple was a disappointment as well. Said based on terms and services they can’t issue a refund. Both companies delivered a bad experience.

it's nice

I've tested a few ebook readers before and I believe it's the best one available for iOS right now. Works like a champ, simple to use, convenient interface and navigation. They also do a great job with updating tiReader and fixing the bugs if they occur.

So far so good

Only been using it for a bit, but looks good so far. not used to the layout compared to the”free books” ereader that I abandoned after years of use because its update dropped support for Dropbox. Books from Dropbox formatted quickly and correctly on this app. My only complaint is that the samples that are recommended for download during the install count against the 5 document limit of the free version. Those samples shouldn’t be counted against the user. Price on the upgrade is reasonable (currently $5) but I’m not sure if I will upgrade yet or not.

the best i have found

this does what everything else does not.

i am in the process of rolling out my own OPDS server,
and look forward to using it with tiReader....

the only thing i can see that is missing currently is the ability to add custom page colors, or your own font, but i can seemingly pick from fonts i've installed as packages elsewhere in the system, so that is OKAY by me not to have that option there.

i really do want to be able to set my page color, or use an image as a texture, perhaps i missed it, if it's there that would be great to know.

also it is intriguing that one cannot seem to get a constant reflow of books from book to book once the options are set, but that may be my own not understanding what i'm dealing with. i have historically been a pdf guy and have been recently learning about how ePub is formatted...

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK dont stop developing tiReader , I REALLY REALLY LIKE IT.

:D

thanks,

Omar
