Really Useful!

I’m so happy I found MySQLClient. I use Panic’s Coda and Prompt for doing quick website updates while on the go, and I’ve always been frustrated that updating anything in my databases required typing out the queries by hand. This makes it so much easier, and even more surprising it’s actually well designed and pleasant to use. Worth trying out since it’s free, and I’ll bet you’ll spring for the annual subscription as well.

The developer also seems very active and responsive to requests. I had a feature request that I really needed for MySQLClient to be useful to me, so I reached out to him on Twitter. And he updated MySQLClient with the feature just a few days later. Great customer support! Thanks for a great app!

False advertising; should be categorized as non-free app

Whether or not the description in MySQLClient store indicates that a purchase is required to see the results set, MySQLClient is clearly NOT free and such a statement is unethical and deceptive, at best.
Falsely stating that MySQLClient is "free" causes MySQLClient to be shown when a search for free apps is made.
It is free to the same degree that a solitaire game app that displays the cards, but, for a small fee, allows the player to actually move them, is free.
It fails essentially of its purpose as a free app. It is useless unless a purchase is made. Therefore, it is a payment-required app and advertising it as anything else is a lie.

Exactly what I was looking for

MySQLClient is amazing for anyone looking for an iPad DB client. The styling and UI is similar to a Panic app (Coda, Transmit, etc), and MySQLClient itself is similar to Sequel Pro for desktop Mac. I was able to quickly connect to a DB and start running queries in minutes.

The UI on MySQLClient is phenomenal, truly a remarkable job.

I've been looking for an app like this for awhile, and am SO happy this now exists! Very good app and can recommend!

Well-made but security absent and limited functionality

Well-made and if this was the iPad version of SQL Workbench would be worth the money. But it isn’t a fraction of that functionality. Most importantly, it has critical security limitations that really mean no one would be advised to use it: Appears no way to load the SSL cert for MySQL connections. You have to use an ssh tunnel instead to get any security for the plain text connections. Still, great potential/foundation if the developers fleshed out the basic functionality.

Excellent!

Was super happy to see this in MySQLClient Store and once SSH tunneling via private key was added it’s made being able to leave my laptop home and just carry my iPad on short trips finally a reality. Developer is super responsive and quick to fix and add features. Follows iPad best practices including keyboard shortcuts and split screen. Super excited to see this mature further. This is the one to beat!

Fluid, Intuitive, and has Never Crashed on Me

App has never crashed on me.

I find it much more fluid and intuitive than MySQL Mobile Database Client, Navicat for MySQL, Query - A MySQL client, or MySQL QueryDB Client.

Very similar to the MacOS version.

I do wish it were a one-time-purchase for the upgraded version instead of a yearly subscription, but everyone is going that way these days, and its only $10/year.

As a field engineer, MySQLClient is a lifesaver when I’m doing work in the field. Not having to create a WiFi hotspot with the iPad and carry around the extra hardware of a laptop is great. Everything seems to work really smoothly even with about 1 bar of service on Verizon’s network.

Amazing

There is finally a good SQL client for iOS!

I have been using MySQLClient on macOS for a while now and have been very happy with it and with the developer’s response to bug reports. Can’t recommend this enough!

Great app, couple of suggestions...

I like MySQLClient. Thank you for developing it.

The 2 suggestions I have are:

- SSH keys (new server requires them, so I’m
In a bind).

- A refresh icon or something on the messages tab to re-run the query and refresh, rather than having to go back to the editor again and click run (unless I’m missing something).

Thank you

What happened???

2 months ago this product was rock solid. Now, i get a spam asking me to buy a year subscription every time i open it (even though I already pay monthly). And now, when I try to open an SSH connection, MySQLClient just closes. Ugh.

Useless

If your free app is useless, don’t make it free, not being able to see the results of a query is an insult for those who are trying it. At least make a temporal window for usage or something

By

Useless without pro,the app is just advertisement.

This application is just an AD if you did not purchase the pro version. You cannot view results.

By

Useless without payment. Not free.

Has zero functionality without paying $60/yr. should not be listed with free apps.

From a developer response

MySQLClient requires a purchase to view and interact. So it is useless without an expensive payment. $59.00 it prompted me.
