No help

Nowhere in SQLite is there any link to anything approximating a help file. Which would be useful because the querying that you can do doesn’t seem to support tables that have foreign keys, which is precisely what I have, and is considered to be good practice in constructing a database. At the very least it would be nice if there was something to say, ‘standard this app features we do not support: foreign keys’ or some such. I don’t know that they don’t support them, but I can’t find any place where they say they do! And for that reason, SQLite is completely useless to me and I will be deleting it!

Great Sqlite App

This does probably much more but certainly enough for what I need - namely to see and sort my this app data. Quick refreshes from my cloud repository and a very friendly UI. I’m a happy user — good show!

Works for what I need

My needs for a database and associated sql queries aren’t complex and I don’t need to share with other users, so this will work for me.

Right now my master list is in excel and imported to my master table with a CSV file. This will happen on a weekly basis. So my queries are used to create views.

The last time I opened SQLite , none of my views are showing in the table/views section. I don’t want to pull up a query and run it every time I want to look at the view. Can you look at this?

Nice but unusable, keep getting errors

Gains a star for UI and usability, but there are a bunch of bugs that pop up error messages when trying to edit tables, making SQLite unusable, which is a shame, because I like SQLite , and because I payed for a buggy unlocked version

no export

You can import and edit your files with this, but Export appears to be broken (although there’s a shortcut for it, nothing happens when you press it).

So, in other words, useless, unless the only place you want your this app database is sitting inaccessibly on your iPad.

Support does not exist. developer’s email address is bogus.

Data entry

Created a table , and fields , can’t add any data to it , so no use .

Great but can use some more features

I like it so far but would like to request the ability to move table columns around in a db edit feature (using ui)

Import issues

I tried importing and Django SQL Lite table using the direct import for SQL Lite, and once I selected the tables to import, I received an error message saying general error, with no description as to why it continually fails.

Please debounce search

I need to text search 758,411 rows with 7 columns, but unfortunately, the search query runs every keypress, which means it seems promising with a page size of 1000 rows, but with a page size of 1,000,000 rows, SQLite lags for like 10 seconds every letter you type of your search query. If you could please just wait until the user stops typing to run the query over the page, then it would be a five star app. Also, I think the default of 1000 rows per page makes sense, except when you search for something and find no results, in that case, it could be better to automatically search the next page(s) all the way to the end. Just asking because I have a humongous medical database and need to type a symptom to find all the rows with that symptom easily. Thank you for making SQLite!

The free version does literally nothing.

I’d appreciate it if App Store banned fake free apps where the only thing that a user can do is upgrade to the pro version.

Best SQLite Client

Provides several excellent features: multi-line editing inside text fields; ability to see an entire record in a vertical scrollable panel with swipe right/left for previous/next record; simple global query to find all record's containing a search string. Previous issue with multi-column primary keys has been fixed.

📲 Data Review and Entry on the Go 👨‍💻

2024-02-29 ~ One day after posting the review below. I wrote Filippo, the author, and he replied within 24 hours.

I can now open SQLite again. There was an issue with iCloud, I had to toggle it off for SQLite ; he said he’s submitted an update to Apple already.

So far, in my light testing, I’ve been *very* impressed.

Numerous nice touches like auto column sizing, rows can hold more than one line of text—so a field with a sentence versus just one word, can have its entirety shown. Low-light mode. Search the entire database and get the results in real time. Show & edit one record at a time.

As an SQL newbie I’ve not yet tried its querying features.
____________

I tested the free version before deciding to pay to unlock it’s promised features. For 5 or 6 hours I gave it light testing and I was very impressed.

I downloaded an this app db to it, entered data, and shared/exported the .db from it to another app which uploaded it to my mac and I edited it there no problem.

It seemed to work mostly well but had issues with Apple Pencil ✏️ not always working, and tapping out of a cell didn’t commit the change, you must click Done. And other minor issues.

But unfortunately after I added some triggers to my db and reimported the db, SQLite crashed at startup. I don’t know what it’s due to. Rebooting the iPad, trashing & reinstalling SQLite hasn’t helped so far. All I get is a crashing app. It crashes so quickly there’s no intro screen.

SQLite has a lot of potential but in less than 12 hours use it won’t even open. And that’s after reinstalling SQLite and rebooting the iPad, both multiple times.
